Job Interview Questions: How do I explain unemployment gaps in a job interview?

I plan on saying "i was very selective, and not looking for a job but rather a career." Any thoughts?

If that's the reason, the jobs you had (between gaps) were 'career' jobs, and no contradictory information will turn up on a background search, that could work.
