Best Job Interview Tip - You're The STAR

Because of your condition you may consider taking it easy. Focusing excessively and trying and studying too hard will only make you more liable to be caught off guard if you're asked an off-the-script question.

Just go over your resume and read your experience, objectives and qualifications aloud and proudly. If you get the job it will be because you're right for it.

Prepare for a Great Job Interview With These Questions and Answers

  • You must sell yourself and have confidence in yourself. Funny but even before I earned my GED and college, I was always able to get a job. The main thing is to let your employer know how willing you are to learn new tasks and to use the skills you already have for the position. Also, the greatest thing you can do to get a job is to pray before every interview. Pray always for the Lord to guide you to the profession and job He wants you to have. Do not do what you want, do the Lord's will even if it is sweeping floors. Good things come to those who pray and believe.

NO JEANS! Just like a black skirt or a any plain skirt that's not too short, and a nice shirt. Nothing too low, nothing too revealing. That's what I would wear. A cardigan's good too. Maybe flats or sandals? I have an interview tomorrow too. Good luck!

Job Interview Questions: How should I prepare for my job interview?

I was called to interview at a place in Dayton, OH called Dorothy Lane Market. It is a very nice grocery store with specialty items and is pretty fancy. What type of questions should I expect? I am in high school and have never worked before..besides a camp job that was pretty much volunteer work.

Great Tips for a Successful Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
Hi Jackie, here's some questions they'll probably ask -

Give me an example of when you have delivered excellent customer service and gone above and beyond your normal duties to help a customer? Maybe use an example of where you've worked doing gardening in the summer vacation for 6 or 7 different houses on your street to earn extra money; explain that you always turned up on time, worked 10 hour days, and always had a good attitude to helping your elderly neighbours and as a result they always ring you if they need odd jobs doing.

Give an example of when you have worked as part of a team?

Do you prefer to work as an individual or as a team? *Hint, for this question, you should use an example of both. Say you like working in a team but also as an individual when the job calls for it. This way they know you work well with others but you also have a brain and can cope on your own.

Give an example of where you've had to help a colleague in a difficult situation?

I'd also suggest when they interview you, that you smile a lot, be very friendly and ask a lot of questions. Ask them do they see a lot more customers coming into the store because of the Summer holidays, and also let them know you are very flexible as far as doing extra shifts. If you have a good flexible attitude and are a nice person they will want you as they always want to maintain their image as a friendly store for families.

Google their website, find out how many stores they have, ask them what areas they will train you in if you get the job.

If you have friends there, dont name-drop them, but maybe say something like "My friend worked here for a while, and she was telling me how she really loved being able to answer customer's questions and help them out with their enquiries." This way it shows you have a good attitude towards the job and have also taken the time to find out how the store works behind the scenes.

Remember, it's all about good attitude and being motivated. You'll be fine

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Job Interview Questions: Any tips for a job interview?

I'm 18 and I have a job interview to work in a large department store as a sales assistant. It will be a group assessment interview and i'm really nervous. Does anyone have any useful tips?

    Job Interview Success

    Recommended Answer:
The prospective employer should see the salesman in you even before you make your first sale.

    1. Go to the interview like you're about to face a business prospect. Learn about the prospect's needs (in the sales jobs interview, your interviewer), such as what they are looking for in a sales consultant and how you will fit in the position.

    2. Prepare your presentation as you would show a new sales idea to your bosses. Your presentation contents would be your sales experience chronologically presented in detail, including the techniques you used to arrive at your results. Highlight stories based on the qualifications a certain company wants.

    3. Find and prepare documents you will use in the interview, such as extra copies of your resume, your portfolio, and other professional works. For new graduates, never fail to bring your college transcript.

    4. Wear presentable sales jobs interview attire and arrive early, at least 15 minutes before your interview schedule.

    5. Review anticipated questions or, if you can, role-play the interview by asking a friend to act as your interviewer. It would be easier to practice answering questions this way than saying them all in your head.

    • Sounds wonderful! I'm sure you know to dress professionally, but also fashionably.

Be early (at least 15 minutes).

Stand up straight and smile often. Exude confidence. Be sure the interviewer knows that you are a hard worker, a fast learner, and that you can't wait to begin working there!

Stress your work ethic and flexibility (employers love to hire people who can work anytime).

Let the interviewer know your strengths, specifically as they apply to this position (how you will benefit the department store).

Positivity is so important. Don't talk negatively about this store or any previous employers. Put a positive spin on everything.

Bring several hard copies of your resume just in case.

Thank the interviewer, tell them it was wonderful meeting them, and wish them a good weekend.

Finally, don't forget to follow up. If you aren't hired on the spot, call Monday to thank them again for the interview. Ask specifically for the person who interviewed you and if they aren't available, leave a message. Make sure to indicate that this job is your first choice and you can't wait to begin working (at their convenience).

Keep following up every few days. Persistence often pays off. Just be polite, and not annoying.

Good luck! Hope you get the job! =)

    • be confident and look in to the eyes of the interviewer when they are talking or when you are answering them and answer as many questions as possible. I had to a group interview before and that's what I did but I turned the job down.

Job Interview Questions: What should a teenager wear for a job interview?

I'm going for a job interview tomorrow, for a position as a camp counselor. The interviews are being held at a local rec center, where there will be kids playing games. My family thinks I should go with black and white business attire (I'll be wearing those clothes anyway, I have to attend something before), but my friends think nice jeans will be fine. I don't want to appear overly dressy, considering the place, but i want to make a good impressions. Any ideas?

How to Amaze With an Impressive Answer to Job Interview Questions

    Recommended Answer:
Dress for the job! If the job requires you to wear non-slip shoes and black slacks, wear that! If you are unsure, a collared shirt and slacks will suffice. There is no such thing as "overly dressy", you just may not want to wear a tux to a McDonald's interview.

Got Through First Job Interview? Now Win the Second Job Interview

    • Only overkill would be a suit and tie. Always dress above the job you are applying for. Id suggest khaki pants(dockers) and a nice polo shirt or long sleeve suit shirt, Belt and appropriate shoes.

    • It's a job interview...wear smart attire. A suit etc. Whether it's applying for Mcdonalds or the biggest corporation in the world you wear a suit!

    • Business attire might be overkill, but jeans are too casual. A nice pair of slacks would be ok.
