I am a 24 year old female with a very wide variety of clothes. Also if anyone know about the sort of questions they'll ask, that would be very helpful too.

Recommended Answer:
im a affender and my probation officer just wears jeans and a shirt but sense it is an interview i would say just wear something conservative.pinstrip pants and a button up shirt.

What to Do Before, During and After a Job Interview

  • Dress for the job. Don't over or under dress. If you know any parole officers find out what is required as a dress code and go with that. Pretty much neat, clean, and dressed to go to work.
As far as the questions, don't have a clue, sorry.

  • modest
nothing tight short or low cut
    nice dress slacks and blouse

    stuff like this

Job Interview Questions: I have a job interview tomorrow...any tips?

im nervous because i have a job interview tomorrow and i really wanna score it. any tips on being successful?

What to Do When Your Job Interviewer is Distracted - And You Want This Job

Recommended Answer:
When going for a job interview, there are several things you must keep in mind. Be prepared to answer all kinds of questions the interviewers might ask, especially related to your past experiences, education and about yourself. It is best to recognize and write your strengths and weaknesses in advance. Before you go for an interview, read them and try to remember them to be able to speak during an interview. If you have a portfolio, do not forget to carry that along with you.

During an interview, your body language is very important. While talking can only present your actual words, your body language can convey your message in so many different ways. Therefore, in case, you are giving out the wrong signals, your interviewers may have some doubts about what you are saying. So, be aware of what you are speaking and how you are speaking at the same time.

Another important thing, you might want to remember during your interview is to be specific. Interviewers hate "beating around the bush". Unless the interviewers specifically ask you to elaborate, you should try to keep the answer simple and straightforward. Here are several other interview tips that could be very useful for you:

Job Interview Questions: Could I mention my sexuality in a job interview?

In a somewhat formal interview at a local retail store or restaurant--would it be okay to mention "hey I'm gay," if I were asked to "tell [the interviewee] about myself?" And then somehow tie that [coming out] into how it's made me stronger, more easygoing or outgoing, comfortable, etc?

LOL

Job Interview Skills Tips - Sample Interview Thank You Notes

Recommended Answer:
They cant ask about sexual orientation and you should not tell them at the interview! It is none of their business and even though it is illegal people do still discriminate. Why would you want to open the door for them to not call you back if they decide they dont want an openly gay employee? Maybe they dont care about sexual orientation but if you seem like the type who has to jam it down everyone's throat then they might assume you will make a big deal about it to every customer or do or say inappropriate things at work.
It is very inappropriate to mention sexual orientation at a job interview! There is no reason to mention it and if it has nothing to do with the position you shouldn't mention it! An employer doesnt want to know whom you sleep with at night.

The Importance of the Job Interview in Canada

  • Is there a way to discuss how you have met challenges head on and came out stronger?

By discussing your sexuality, you are actually putting the hiring manager in an uncomfortable position. Knowledge is not power when it comes to every little detail of an applicant's personal life. Jot down several different sentences about yourself that have absolutely nothing to do with being gay. Just as being tall is not the whole of a person, so the same for your personal relationships.

You are interviewing for a job, not being hired for your opinion. By not bringing it into the discussion at the interview, you are making the manager hire you because they want you, not because of who you are. Sell your skills, work ethic and potential for the company. Leave the personality on the resume.

Be professional, be polite, be productive.

    Good luck

  • See that is what annoys the homophobes. This could be interpreted as flaunting your sexuality.
As an employer I may take this as a sign of future disruptive behavior and not something I want in my work place.
It isn't any ones business who you sleep with.

If they asked you you would get defensive

  • Learn to be strong with out having to advertise personal decisions. if you can, you are already a leap away from confidence pacifiers.
this could also give the impression that, this is how you would define yourself. Rather give an example or show a characteristic of a truly deeper/thoughtful person.

  • No, don't. Any you don't have to mention your religion, or marital status either. You should advise of any disability for which you might require special equipment or what, and they aren't supposed to discriminate against you on that basis.

  • Unless it is a necessary function of your interview, to determine sexual orientation, I'd leave it out. It's no ones business.

  • Don't mention it. It doesn't concern them, and quite frankly, they probably don;t want to know anything at all about your sex life, whatever it may be.

  • Not appropriate at all. That isn't necessary information for a job interview.

  • No. That could ruing your chances of getting the job. They shouldnt care if your gay or not.

  • You should keep job interviews neutral.

Job Interview Questions: Should I lie on my job interview?

This is going to be my first job interview and I'm having trouble trying to get a job because most places I know would deny anyone who's just seeking for a summer job. My siblings told me to lie and say I'm just not working for the summer. But I do not know, any suggestions?

What to Do Before, During and After a Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
lying is just a STUPID idea and eventually will come back to bite ya'
the types of employers that will consider your application regularly hire for the summer only..............

your problem getting a job is going to be your maturity and the fact that you are considering lying does not bode well for you.........
grow up quickly, to get a chance you must be able to show through words and actions that you are NOT like most minors who are looking for a job, many employers have had bad experiences with minors as employees, you are going to have to prove you deserve a chance.

Some Common Job Interview Weaknesses and How to Address Them

  • I think you need to step back for a moment and think here.

First of all, what are you planning to do over the next year or two?

If you have a long term career aim , and are making plans to get qualifications for a particular type of career, then you may want to look around for work or an internship that will help you to gain some basic experience in this field. In which case the role will be expected to only be for the summer.

If you're looking for a way to make some easy cash for the summer, then many of these kinds of jobs are often taken by students and companies expect them to leave or go part time when education start again in the autumn.

On the other hand, perhaps you're going for a job that has longer term prospects, and you'd like to leave your options open- if the job works out, you stay, if it doesn't you go back to school/college/uni.

So- I don't know how old you are, what the job is, or anything about your situation, but do give the whole thing some thought.

In any case, any job will have a contract you sign, that states how much notice you should give of leaving- might be a week, 2 weeks, a month, and if you give the agreed notice then you are free to leave.( the employer has the same rights to give you notice to leave). So don't feel guilty about leaving, as long as you give the agreed notice!

PS making a big assumption here that you're school/college/uni age- otherwise why would you only be looking for a summer job!

  • It's never a good idea to lie. If you do, and then you leave at the end of the summer, they'll be pissed--but more than that, you wouldn't get a good reference, and you never know what could happen down the road. Maybe someone from this place knows someone at another job you interview for, or even ends up working there. You don't want to get the reputation as a liar.

  • if you could lie and get away with it and also lands on the job than do it but if you think you might get caught than don't. It all depends most retail hardly ever do any kind of background check so you anything you say is ok, but if anything else I would not recommend. Morally you should not but hey can someone really go on a day with out lying?

  • What difference does it make if you tell them you plan to stay when you know yourself its temporary? They can't do anything, and of course nobody will hire you if you say you only want to work temporary. So yes, lie you fool!

  • I would lie. If you want to quit at the end of the summer just make something up. Give them 2 weeks notice and leave in a positive light.

  • say who you want a part time job, then quit & say school got too hectic to maintain a job

Job Interview Questions: I don't speak Spanish, how do I handle that in a job interview?

I have a job interview this week at a retail store. I live in a city with a high population of Spanish speakers with many who only speak Spanish. I have worked retail here before and it was definitely a hindrance. That employer never asked if i spoke Spanish however, assuming I did since I'm Hispanic.

I'm concerned this employer will ask however. If they do ask, how can I respond in a way that makes it seem like less of a handicap?

Job Interview Skills: What Does The Employer Want To Hear?

Recommended Answer:
What you could do is make an effort to learn some helpful conversational phrases. You might consider going out and getting a beginner's book and trying to teach yourself a little bit. Not only would it come in handy on the job, but if it is brought up during your interview, you can honestly say that you've just begun the process of trying to learn. Not only does that show that you care about serving customers effectively, but it would show that you take initiative and go above and beyond.

Job Interview

  • That's too bad. It's sad that so many foreigners are in our country that the native population is put at a disadvantage. If he asks, tell him that you shouldn't have to know spanish because this is America, not Mexico and we speak english here.
If they turn you down for not knowing spanish, it could be grounds for a discrimination law suite.

  • If you absolutely do not understand or speak spanish & they ask you, you will have to be honest. Becase if you are not, you will quickly find yourself in a situation you will be unable to handle--and that will look more deceitful.

I have a job interview commig up. At the end of the interview they always aske if you have any questions. What kind of questions should I ask?

Dressing For a Job Interview in Summer

Recommended Answer:
I suggest you research some info about the company you are having an interview with, that way you have a better understanding and you could think about some easy questions.

Some common questions are:
1) When will I know whether I am hired or not and will I be able to follow up?
2) How often do you have new collections arriving? (For retail)

..along the lines of that

It is Important For Every Job Seeker to Know About the Job Interview

  • Hi

Firstly if it hasn't been covered ask what the salary is?
Then ask what are the prospects and timescale for promotion?
If you came up with a suggestion for saving money or improving production who would you approach with it?
Again if not covered in the interview ask what training is available so you can improve your knowledge which in-turn will benefit the company.Stress you are eager to learn.
Do not ask what holidays you get, you haven't got the job yet.

    Hope this helps.
    Geoff

  • is this job commission based or do I get payed by the hour. once you're at the interview, the next step will be training if it is hourly pay. however, if it is commission pay, the next step will be another interview so then you can know not to waste your time.
