They cant ask about sexual orientation and you should not tell them at the interview! It is none of their business and even though it is illegal people do still discriminate. Why would you want to open the door for them to not call you back if they decide they dont want an openly gay employee? Maybe they dont care about sexual orientation but if you seem like the type who has to jam it down everyone's throat then they might assume you will make a big deal about it to every customer or do or say inappropriate things at work.
It is very inappropriate to mention sexual orientation at a job interview! There is no reason to mention it and if it has nothing to do with the position you shouldn't mention it! An employer doesnt want to know whom you sleep with at night.

By not bringing it into the discussion at the interview, you are making the manager hire you because they want you, not because of who you are. Sell your skills, work ethic and potential for the company. Leave the personality on the resume.

As an employer I may take this as a sign of future disruptive behavior and not something I want in my work place.

You should advise of any disability for which you might require special equipment or what, and they aren't supposed to discriminate against you on that basis.
