Job Interview Questions: Tough Question How to get your manager's permisson to go to a new job interview?

I want to take some hours off, because I have a job interview I was waiting for months. How to tell the manager I need some hours off without giving him an idea about my undertaking? Is it better to pretend I am sick, or to just say 'I am sorry I have some important things to do', or to lie again and say someone is sick? I can't lie but my friend says I have to.

What would you do if you were in my shoes?

Thanks

Tips For Job Interviews - Information You Need to Know

Don't say doctor, they will ask for a note. Say personal time, if they insist, appointment at the house to do work, or financial consult, something that does not require a note. Drivers test, insurance claim, taking family member to a personal appointment.

Job Interview Skills: Four Critical Mistakes to Avoid!

  • Good one, Curious if a note is not needed to return to work. If your company gives you PTO (personal time off) hours, I'd use those then you don't have to tell them anything, just put in for the time.

  • I need to leave around 1:00 today, i have an important personal appointment that I cannot change { best to give a couple days notice on it.}

  • Tell him you have a doctor's appointment. Not entirely honest, but it works.
