The Top Ten Mistakes Made in Job Interviews and How to Avoid Them

Recommended Answer:
Depends on the job and the size of the company. You may meet with your direct boss, maybe boss + HR rep.

Most likely they'll ask why you want the job, what type of applicable experience you have, what you would bring to the company, your skills and education (yes, it's on your resume, but they will probably ask you to see how well you communicate or if you lied on your CV).

First thing to do is go in there and be yourself. Answer the questions asked, don't go off on side-stories and TMI. Be pleasant, and remember that the interview is also your chance to ask any questions you might have about the job, the company, the pay, etc.

Wear slacks or a knee-length skirt, a blouse buttoned to above your cleavage, take a light jacket, wear fresh make-up and not-too-fussy hair.

Job Interview Questions to Ask Potential Employers - The Do's & Don'ts

  • The type of questions will depend on the type of job. All of the post-university jobs I've had were conducted by a panel of people. Be confident, shake hands firm, make eye contact, dress appropriately.

My interview last Thursday could have been taken right off the first hit from google for 'behavioural interview questions' www.quintcareers.com/sample_behavioral.html

Demonstrate how you can add value to the company/organization.

Don't ask about salary unless they bring it up first.
