Finishing and Leaving Your Job Interview
Recommended Answer:
My sister is a department supervisor for Macy's and I remember when she was going for her first interview as a simple furniture retail person a few years back.
Most people don't notice, but the employees there always have to be in all black. It's required. They can wear a colored shirt but they always have to have some kind of black cardigan over it. They just want to look professional, they make it easy to spot an associate.
Well my sister usually wear tons of color but, for some reason. she coincidentally went in an all black get-up for her interview. anyways, i heard that they loved it in the end (i guess they thought she did her research/noticed dress codes, etc.). obviously she got the job (on the spot)...
So just wear all black somehow, maybe a suit or just a black dress shirt (a lot of the managers i see walking around wear suits though). Just make sure you look professional, like you care about your appearance, and I'm sure you'll be awesome!!!
Good Luck :)
5 Reasons to Write a Good Job Interview Thank You Letter After A Crappy Job Interview
- its always good to go in dressed to impress, so what you just said sounds perfect! your suppose to dress up even if the employees are not, your going for an interview even if it is at macy's still got to look the part. Macy's pretty much hire anyone so there is no need to be nervous or anything. Just answer the questions they ask you and basically advertise yourself make them believe you will be right for the job and you will get it.
- I use to work for Macy's we dress business like. What you described is perfect. Nice shirt with tie, pants and shoes. If you have a suit that would be even better, but what you described is fine.
- Go with the Suit. This lets them know you are serious about climbing the ladder to an executive job.
- they dress all fancy so and suit might be too much just go with a button shirt and nice pants w/ a tie!
- Just a nice dress shirt and tie.
