Job Interview Questions: What personal info can I get away with not giving on a job interview?

I'm starting job interviews soon and with all the identity fraud going on I just wanted a
few opinions on the subject. Do I have to give my social security number or can I just give my license number?

A Guide to the Most Evil Job Interview Questions

Recommended Answer:
I would never give any information like SSN or even license number until I've gone to the actual company's offices to confirm they are legit. There are too many scammers online using the names of legitimate businesses but have nothing to do with the actual company. They will want to do online or phone interviews, then ask for personal information. Don't do it. Always wait until you go into the office. And if you want more security, check the Better Business Bureau or local Chamber of Commerce to get more info about the business before you go in if you are not familiar with them

Preparing to Answer Job Interview Questions

  • You shouldn't have to do either as they will do a background check but yeah do not give the your SSN or DL number and just show them ID and do interviews with companies that you know are legitimate and not something you saw on craigslist.org

  • Give it out.
No one is going to steal your identity at a workplace.
    They'll get caught.

Do not use your card online - this is where all this identity theft is going on.
