Job Interview Questions: What kind of clothes should I wear to a job interview?

I was planning on going to a interview in just jeans and a polo but one of my friends told me that if I don't wear Khaki pants and a polo or a dress shirt that there's a good chance I won't get hired is that true? I'm only 16 so it would be like my first job and I want to make a good impression. So should I just go out and buy some Khakis from like AE or something?
