Job Interview Questions: What footwear should I wear for a job interview?

I bought a formal outfit recently for job interviews but I don't have any shoes to wear. I am not really a typical girl so I don't have loads of shoes. The letter I received says that formal dress in necessary. What style of shoes should I wear?
