The trick for most interview questions is to deflect it in some manner.

If I'm asked what my weakness is, I'll answer something like, "I tend to get frustrated when my coworkers don't complete their work and I have to finish it for them."

I was asked in an interview how I handled a crisis, (something that goes with my job). I told him of a situation I dealt with (very well) and then I said, "How would you have handled it"? He fumbled around for a minute and said, "We'd be hosed".

The idea is to be prepared to turn your answer away from yourself to another direction. Don't badmouth coworkers, just imply that you don't want to do their work too.

How to Master a Job Interview

  • 'i tend to piss on the floor when i go to the lavs but apart from that i dont have any weaknesses'

  • I would say "my biggest weakness is that I'm too accommodating sometimes, and just don't know when its best to put myself first"

If you cant dazzle em with diamonds, baffle em with bullshit.

  • Personally, (don't know if this will apply for you) the answer I give is this,

"My greatest weakness is currently that I am younger than most of the other applicants. Often employers prefer to select people who have been in the working force a few more years than I have, even though I am equally qualified for the position. While I am younger and may have less experience, I have much ambition, and am a quick study."

Being young, is not an answer they are expecting, but it's definitely true. It's hardly the fault of the person, but many times employers pick someone that's in their late 20s-30s over someone that's a recent graduate, or younger. I figure that way, it's an honest answer, it doesn't reflect negatively on me, and maybe it will make them feel guilty if they want to hire someone older than me.

  • "Chocolate is my weakness."
