Job Interview Basics

Recommended Answer:
Wear nice looking clothes, don't need a suit or anything but a nice pair of jeans and a button down would be fine. They should be clean of course! They will probably ask you a few questions about your work history and why you want to work for them. Try to think of some answers for these questions beforehand. When you are answering questions, try not to say 'umm' 'ahhh' or 'like'. If you need to think about a questions, just pause for a minute and think without making noise to fill the silence.

What To Wear On A Job Interview

  • Be on time for the interview. Shake hands with the interviewer as soon as you meet them. Look them in the eye and call them by name, preferable Mr./Mrs. whatever. I agree with yourbill on the clothing. Make sure you clothes are clean and not wrinkled. Be prepared talk about the jobs that you've had. If you haven't had any other jobs, talk about your experiences volunteering, doing work for friends and neighbors, etc. Show them that you are reliable, will show up on time and when you are scheduled. Find out as much as you can about the job in advance. Read up on customer service and express your belief in how important customer service is. Act mature, professional, polite and enthusiastic about what you can do for them. Obtain a business card from the interviewer. Be sure and thank them for their time and tell them that you look forward to hearing from them soon. One the way home from the interview, pick up a Thank You card from the drug store. As soon as you get home, hand write a Thank You note addressed to the interviewer and mail it immediately. If you don't hear anything from them in about one week, call and speak to the manager and let them know that you are still interested in the job.

They may ask if you have any questions. Avoid asking how much they will pay. You will find that out when they call you with an offer.

This is a lot of information. Hope it helps you!
