Job Interview Questions: Job interview soon...got any tips?

hello! I have a job interview in a couple hours and it's been years since I've changed jobs. I am applying to be a server at a pretty casual restaurant. Any tips? I'm thinking of just wearing black pants and a button-up top with some black boots, and just wearing my hair down. And I'm friendly and outgoing and usually not too nervous at interviews, but I just want some reassurance from you guys. What are your tips? thanks!

Your clothing choice sounds good. I'm not sure about the boots though. Just make sure that your shirt is not low cut and don't wear excessive makeup. Just try to look natural and well groomed. Good luck!

Appearing For a Dream Job Interview - Things That You Must Not Talk About

  • my best tip.
    dont screw up. :o

  • Assuming you have basic social skills needed for an interview (smile, mirror the movements and body language of your interviewer etc.) then a great tip for improving your posture - and therefore the physical impression you make - is how to sit in the chair properly.

When you go to sit down, rather than just plonking yourself on the seat and leaning back into the back of the chair, do this: As you lower yourself down into the seat, make the base of your back (i.e. your bum!) touch the back of the chair first. Slide that part of your body down into the seat. This will kind of wedge you into the chair which will give you a very upright and authoritive position. It may sound silly but do it in front of the mirror and you will see a marked improvement in your posture over just 'plonking'.

    Good luck!
