Job Interview Questions: Job interview! Pregnant! Wot do i do?

I have a job interview at the end of the month and its at the same place i work but a different department, i applied fore i found out i was pregnant, do i tell them at the interview? As they will need to sort out my maternity leave wont they if i get it! I really want this job!!!

DO NOT TELL THEM!!!!! unless you are already showing =P ... once you GET the job THEN you can tell them!!

i just had a job interview w. blockbuster! (i was recently layoff from a great job =-( ) and the manager was all set to put me on the schud. and it went brilliantly .. really im over qualified for the job but need SOMETHING so was willing to take a min. wage crap job =P .. told him i will be needing some time off in the summer b.c we are pregnant THEN he says ok well im sure we will be able to work it out but like i said i still have some more interviews to go ill give you a call in a day or 2 ... no call back! i even left a few messages in case he put the number down wrong or something and still nothing ..

so my advice never ever tell them until after you get the job unless you are so far along that you cant hide it

• you are under no obligation by law to inform your employer that you are pregnant till you are ready to do so and no employer can fire you for becoming pregnant. unless the question comes up which it shouldn't you can go through the interview and see if you get the job without the added information. after you get the job.. if you get the job you can tell them that you are pregnant and that your going to need maturity leave when the time comes... and if they do ask you if you are pregnant in the interview you can simply tell them that you wish to not answer that question at that time for it have no impact on your abilities for the job for which you are applying...


• It depend on how far along you are.....if you are still early in your pregnancy DO NOT tell them!!!! Chances are they wont give you the job.....no matter how harsh that is, it happens to many many many women everyday!!! If your to the point in your pregnancy where your really showing and it only a matter of months before you would be going on Maternity leave, you have no choice but to tell them....and see what they decide they want to do.....but usually it's not the best idea to tell a future employer on an interview that your pregnant ;( Good luck I wish you all the best ;)


• I would be honest and let them know, that way they will be understanding about you having doctors appointments and such. They can't keep you from having the job because you're pregnant, unless it recquires manual labor that is not acceptable for a pregnant woman to be doing.


• They can't discriminate if you are pregnant so there is no reason to let them know.
