Job Interview Questions: Job Interview at Gap Kids?

I have a job interview at Gap Kids in a few days. And I have a few questions...
-Has anyone worked for Gap Inc?
-Do they typically hire people with little or no retail experience?
-What should I wear?
-Generally what type of questions will I be asked?

How to Face a Job Interview Successfully

Recommended Answer:
Hey I had a group interview at a GAP outlet store - it sells women's, men's and kids clothes.
There was about 17 of us and we all had to go and grab something in store that we thought was like our personality and then explain why we chose the item to the group. Then we got given a different card each with a scenario on it (mine was 23 year old girl meeting boyfriends parents for first time, size 12, budget £100.) and had to go round the shop and pick what you thought would be the perfect outfit and then explain why. After this we got into groups which were divided into 'shop floor' 'tills' and 'fitting rooms' and each group had to do a spider diagram of the role and duties of the shop assistant at each area. After which half the group were sent home. The rest of us stayed and went round the shop with an evaluation form saying what was good and bad about the shop ie stock levels, tidiness, shop displays etc.
Then we were just asked our availability and they took our contact numbers.
The next day I was offered the job yay :) :) :)
If you have a group interview the main thing is to stand out from the croud. Be the first to put your hand up to go first. Speak out but don't interrupt other people. Smile and make chit chat with members of staff who already work there. And just be confident even if you dont feel it!

I'd say either wear black pants and a nice top, or a skirt with tights or a dress with tights. Don't be afraid to add a little colour. For my interview I wore a black jumper tucked into a highwaisted black skirt but added a big bright pink waist belt and purple shoes :)

If its a one to one interview Im pretty sure they'll ask questions such as:

Why do you want to work for GAP?
Tell us about a time you worked in a team.
What can you bring to our company?
Tell me about yourself.

Be sure to ask any questions at the end but I'd steer clear from asking things like rates of pay and hours...if you get the job you can find out then. Maybe ask what the working environment is like.
It may help if you do a little research about the company before hand too.

Hope it goes well!

Job Interview Skills: Four Critical Mistakes to Avoid!

  • Ideally it should just be one interview, ut they could call you back if they are really looking at hiring you.
They could hire people without experience, but it always depends n the job. There is always an element of training in any job, and during the interview they want to find out if you are sharp enough to be trained fast.

They could ask you questions like Tell me about yourself, what are your weaknesses, are you a team player etc. These are common interview questions and you can find the answers in the website below.

However, as per dressing, always wear business attire, look smart and ready to conquer the world. Never wear jeans to a interview.

Job Interview Questions: What do i wear for a job interview?

which type of dresses are preferable for job interviews, is it good to wear formal dresses or any other. please suggest the best one.

Job Interview Mistakes!

Recommended Answer:
To make the best impression for job interviews, choose a matching skirt (knee length or slightly below) and jacket with a plain white blouse. A pant suit would be second choice. The suits color should be solid and medium to dark in color. Shoes should be conservative with less than a two inch heel. Jewelry should be extremely minimal and neither distracting nor overly expensive looking.

Job Interview Mistakes To Avoid

  • If you are looking for a certain style of dress I would go with a wrap dress. It is expandable to any body type/size in a neutral color (I would stick with navy, cream, gray, and of course black). I agree with the other user about minimal jewelry, pick key pieces (i.e. a nice pair of earrings, or ring but stay clear of bangles or anything else distracting).
As far as formal dresses go, I would steel clear of anything extremely designer, while it does make a good outfit, I would not want to dress better than the boss/or interviewer (save that until after you get hired!!! :D )

Job Interview Questions: What should I say in this job interview?

I'm a 16 year old girl and I applied for a job at a clothing store.
The store mainly provides clothes for women who are 30+ years old.
So anyway, I have an interview this weekend and I'm not sure exactly what I should say if they ask the question
"Why do you want to work here?"

How to Recover From a Bad Job Interview and Get the Job

Recommended Answer:
Well, why DO you want the job. If its just because you need a job, then you'll have to 'dress up' your answer. Do a little research on the company you want to work for so you can tailor your answer.

Perhaps you like their ideals or philosophy (e.g. not using child labour), perhaps you can say you are interested in the clothing industry and see working in the retail side as a good primer for years to come.

The one answer you shouldn't give is 'because I need the money' - it makes you look desperate and unlikely to care about the job itself.

Job Interview Questions: I left my last job badly how do I say this in a job interview?

I left my job badly I quit and then they sent me to a meeting for Gross misconduct but nothing happened or came of it. I have a job interview next week. I don't know what to do if the interviewer asked me why I left my job. Should I be honest, obviously Im not getting a reference of them but is it better to be honest or say that Ive learned from my mistakes. Help!

The Importance of the Job Interview in Canada

Recommended Answer:
If you quit, you can say "I quit because ..."
Then give a reason; eg I was unhappy with the working conditions, the management style was unproductive, there was no future in the company, etc. depending on what fits in that situation, but make sure it is not something that the new company has. Keep the answer short.
Do not mention the gross misconduct.

  • Be honest. But don't give details.

Job Interview Questions: Is Wearing A Rainbow Afro Wig To A Job Interview A Good Idea?

I want to really stand out for this job interview. I have thought about wearing a rainbow afro wig to spruce up a more than likely dully job interview. Also, do you think it will be a good idea to have a little horn, so that after every sentence I state, I squeeze it twice? Thoughts?

How To Shine At Your Next Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
i don't think that would be a very good idea unless your interviewing for the circus or a clown job or something. if you want to stand out you just have to be different. if your resume is different and not plain that helps and if your answers are interesting and stand out. if they ask you something like why do you want the job or if thet job is temporary and they say something like your not going to be there for very long or something come up with a witty but professional type of answer

Take a Look at Some Useful Job Interview Tips

  • What is the situation with this horn? Does it light up, or make noise?

If so, then it's perfect. Try to make it voice activated so every time someone says something they are assaulted with a bright, noisy horn.

  • It's not a good idea unless you're interviewing to be a Clown. Or you're bald.

  • If you don't want the job then yes.

  • Dont forget your red nose!

  • wear a couple of dillys around your neck in the shape of a cross also

  • Nope, you wont get the job.. That's 4 sure'

  • no. you will look like an idioit. the only way to stand out is to BE YOURSELF.

  • yes!

you'll be guaranteed to get the job with that wig on!

  • yeah!! great idea!!!! I would definate hire you over some guy in a .suit to be the clown at my party

  • Hands down yes.

  • well I approved the wig, but the horns a little much don't you think?

  • NO I DON'T THINK SO GO WITH SOMETHING SMART N SIMPLE
