Job Interview Questions: Job interview process?

i had a job interview today at dunkin donuts, it went pretty well. i left and about 3 minutes later the manager called me and said that she liked me and is going to send my application into human resources and then set up a different interview.
i'm kind of confused as to why that's necessary? maybe it's common sense, but i'm just a kid who has never had a job before
thanks (:

How To Lose A Job During The Job Interview

    • Ok so i worked at sears when I was 16 for a year. Im 18 now so it wasnt that long ago.
But there dress code is no colors. So I remember I wore a nice black top with black dress pants. Seems lame black and black.
And I no its really hot, so maybe a short sleve shirt, but no tanks.
and you'll have an outfit you can wear if you get the job.
Also you want closed toed shoes. So NO flipflops.
If you have anyother questions about sears just message me.
Ill tell you about my interview and what they asked me if you need it

    • Hello, you are interviewing for a retail postion therefore, you would simply dress in some business casual threads.... attractive, with a touch of conservatism and class.... but hey, if you are color coordinated and have some heels on your fine.... this is a retail-hardware store, so you wont have too dress like your interviewing for a large cooperation with a strong conservative dress code..... i think you ll be fine in whatever casual business attire, some heels, and as long as your outfit matches, your in there! i would go with a white short sleeve shirt, gray or neutral skirt, with with some hose, heels... or just a white shirt, gray slacks, heels, youll be fine... i used too interview for retail etc... as long as you look sharp, communicate fine, maintain eye contact, answer honestly and without hesitation/sincere, youll be good to go! retail folks want agressive sales people, someone thats energetic, easy too manage and one that shows up on time.... if you stress that your dependable and will strive too attain the goals and objectives of the company..... your fine.... the team player story works best..... i wouldnt be worried as this is sears, i doubt you will make this a long term career..... if you have your game plan down and look the part, youll be fine......

best of luck! just smile and if a male is interviewing you, a little harmless flirting helps.....

    • You should always dress as professional as possible for any sort of job interview. You only get one chance to make a first impression, and you don't want your interviewer to feel as though you don't care about the interview, or that's going to be an immediate dismissal.

    • first, go to sears and buy clothes from there,
      i'd recommend something like
      www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605…
      with
      www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605…good luck on your interview!

    • Why not go for a linen black shift dress with some smart sandals if the dress code is no colour. This will keep you cool especially you can tie your hair up. Good luck.

    • Business casual
So any nice pair of trousers or skirt(around knee length) and a nice blouse. No tank tops, sleeveless is OK, but don't go in something sexy or too casual.

    • Maybe try a knee length professional looking skirt, with a cute dressy short sleeved blouse tucked in.

    • Nice shirt and pants.

    • I would say a dressy blouse and black pants (Not jeans)

Job Interview Preparation - How to Create That Powerful First Impression

    • Normally I would recommend taking some time off from school, but you are soooo close! I know you can do 4 more weeks! Maybe for these last 4 weeks you and your husband could work out someway to take them to their daycare so you can have some much needed study time, minus the little interruptions. And when you finish school, you'll have a better chance of getting a good job with some decent pay (hopefully, but I'm not sure what you're studying). You are doing great, just keep up your wonderful work

    • Of course formal dress.

Job Interview Questions: Job Interview: How Long Do You Plan To Work Here?

At my job interview today I was asked "How long do you plan to work here for?" Because they want someone who will be committed to the job. In reality I plan to stay there as long as I can until I get a better job offer, whether that be in one month or one year. What do you think I should say/should have said? I don't think they would have liked my honest answer.

The Secret Revealed Behind Tricks That Interviewers Use During Job Interviews

    • i said "well in 5 years time i hope to be moving into a level of management in your company"
of corse it was a complete lie. i'll leave as soon as my self employed career takes off which is in a completely different sector of work.

    • I would say "indefinitely" because in all honesty you don't know what growth opportunities that employer or another employer has or does not have available for you. Who knows the future?

Job Interview Questions: Ask for time off during a job interview?

I have a job interview...problem is later in the month I already made plans to go somewhere around new years (the place is open during new years) would it be acceptably to say those I'm busy those days during the interview?

I made the reservations three weeks after the application and I thought I wouldn't get interviewed.

whats the best way to say it without turning off the boss

Job Interviews -- The Real Reasons Why You Need to Follow Up

    • wait til the middle of the interview and if you think things are going well then bring it up. just casually say that you already had a vacation planned that you cant get out of but would be happy to start work right after it. if the boss really wants to hire you then it shouldnt be a dealbreaker he or she will still want you to work for them

    • I do not think you will get the job if you tell them you have a trip planned. I would expect you to cancel it , if I were the employer times are tough and I have other people who want the job more than you do.

    • If they ask you when you could start, select a day after your holiday. You can say that you have commitments until after that time.

First Job Interview After Graduating - How to Prepare Even If You've NEVER Had a Job! (Part One)

    Recommended Answer:
Wherever you have a job interview, the basics will always be asked like..

    1. Tell me about yourself.
Keep the answer job or skill related.

    2. Why did you leave your last job?
Never refer to a major problem with management or say undesirable things about your supervisors, co-workers or the organization. Keep smiling and talk about leaving for a positive reason such as an opportunity, or a chance to do something better.

    3. What is your weakness?
Always try to give a positive answer. For example, "It takes me a long time to get ready in the morning, so I set my alarm two hours ahead of my time in for work."

    4. What are your strengths?
Sell yourself. Say how you can be a desirable employee for the company.

    5. Why should we hire you?
This is your chance to show why working for the company is important to you and why you think you will fit in. Don't mention other applicants for comparison.

    6. Are you a team player?
The answer should always be a yes then cite examples. You may mention situations where you were part of a group or organization, and the activities you've had that show you worked well with them.

7.Tell me about your ability to work under pressure.
You may say that you thrive under certain types of pressure. Give an example that relates to the type of position applied for.

    8. How do you see yourself five years from now?
If you answer that you have not thought about it or you have no plans yet, the interviewer could conclude you have no vision and goals. Say something that is achievable but not too low as this could imply you lack initiative. It should be consistent with the objective on your resume and the skills you mentioned you have.

    9. What are your expectations from this job/company?
You will be able to answer this question well through company research and self-assessment. Think as if you are already part of the company. You may say something like, "I expect challenging tasks."

    10. Do you have any questions for me?
Always prepare questions, but those that are not answered in the company's website or those you have not discussed. Asking questions shows you are interested to know more about the company or the job.
