Job Interview 101

  • 1. Yes
    2. No (I suppose you could bring that, but don't hand it over unless specifally asked).
    3. Look your best, so I personally would.

My boss once gave me some advice about resumes. They are just meant to get you in the door for an interview. They aren't supposed to have what you made money-wise or references on them. Just your work experience and education. This is from someone who had been hiring people for 40 yrs.

Once you get called for an interview and they ask for references and what you made, then tell them. They always have those questions on the official application as well.

  • 1. Yes.
    2. Yes.
    3. I want to say yes.. but I also want to say ; how you look at your interview is how they might expect you to look all the time. The employer is going to assume that you look your best for the interview.. so look great but don't over do it. In my opinion, it would make them expect to see you done up ..always! :-)

  • 1. Yes.
    2. Yes.
    3. lol...that is entirely up to you. They won't care.
    Good Luck!

  • Yes, to all. You want to go prepared and you want to look your best.

        Hi ,

The first thing to remember about the interview is that your first impression is the most important thing. Most employers make their decision within the first 2 minutes of meeting you, so as long as you make a good impression right off the bat you don't have to worry too much about answering the right questions and wowing them with your experience. Focus on that first handshake, that is by far the most important part.

Job Interview Questions: Would it be acceptable to wear a simple black professional dress with a blazer to a job interview?

Would a simple black knee length dress, professional blazer, pantyhose, and black pumps be ok for a job interview? I seriously hate wearing pants suits and skirt suits aren't much better. I think I'd feel more comfy in a dress.

I think it would give a great impression!

        Preparing For Job Interviews

        • You might not want to hear this, but a skirt suit would be the best way to go.

Always err on the side of what is guaranteed to be acceptable. Standards of attire vary from employer to employer. If the job comes down to you and one other person, you wouldn't want to lose the offer just because the other person was "better dressed." You don't want to leave anything to chance.

Wait until you are actually hired before you start experimenting with your outfits. Once you are "in," most employers offer leeway as to what their staff can wear. You can also speak to your coworkers about what is appropriate. However, interviewing isn't the time to be adventurous with the wardrobe.

          Good luck with the interview.

          :-) Nohealani

        • I agree with Nohealani. Although this sounds very nice and professional to me, you don't really want to leave anything to chance. Going with a skirt suit maybe a safer option. Instead of thinking it as being uncomfortable, think of it as you won't have to worry about your attire being acceptable...it is. This should allow you to focus all your attention on giving a great interview.

          Good luck!

        • Knee length is a good length, nice and professional. Make sure also to wear nude hosiery, or at least some sort of sheer hosiery. Opaque tights are not really professional looking at all. I don't know why they're so fashionable in general, when sheer hose are wayyyyyyyy better.

Job Interview Questions: What should an 18 year old wear to an open job interview?

I'm 18 and there's a job interview at Goody's, the clothing store, tomorrow. My mom says I should wear a Hollister sundress. It's the most professional thing I have lol. Also, what should I expect, question wise & how to answer questions? Thanks!

Job Interviews -- The Real Reasons Why You Need to Follow Up

        Recommended Answer:
I think you should wear something professional looking, but don't over do it, because you have to remind them you are 18, but you will work as hard as any worker would if you are hired for this job. A dress does seem appropriate, so I would go with that, just don't dress to fancy or casual

Job Interviews -- What Your Pre-Interview Research Should Cover

        • If your sundress isn't out of line with what the salespeople at Goody's wear, you should wear it. Always dress as formally as the most formally-dressed person in the position for which you are interviewing. If you aren't sure, ask. Nobody will think less of you and many people will think more of you if you ask.

You might be asked why you want the job, when you can start, what your dream job is. Answer in terms of what you can do for Goody's, and not in terms of what Goody's can do for you. Neither nor Goody's nor any other employer has jobs to give out. They have work that needs to be done. Tell them why you're the best choice to do it.

        • Friend your mum is right that you can wear professional dress so that you look professional to the job.More i prefer to say that please wear simple and clean dress which attract the interviewer who is there for your interview. I think this is the best for you.God bless you and best of luck for the interview.

        • Answer the questions honestly and to the point.
