Job Interview Questions: How do I know if i will be hired? Today, I had my first job interview. I'm really anxious about it. Is this ?

normal? My interview took awhile. They were two interviewers examined me and they asked almost the same questions. At the end, he told me that they still have more people to interview after telling me that he will call me after a week if I get the job or not.

What to Say During a Job Interview: 3 Steps to Interview Answers That Will Get You Hired

Recommended Answer:
It is always good form to send them a letter or email thanking them for their time in interviewing you. Doing so always makes you look better. If they have not called you in a week, simple call and inquire as to if the position has been filled. If it has, thank them anyways.

Job Interview Success

  • Don't forget, you want to follow up to an interview within 24 hours or so. You want to send thank-you e-mails highlighting parts of the interview you found most interesting, and clarify any points you believe need more explanation.

I have my fingers crossed for you!

  • Dear Dork,

It takes couple of days in the selection process after the interview as they have multiple candidates and they have to pick out the candidate with best skills set. If your have been selected they will contact you through email or telephone.

  • Pretty normal. Good luck.

  • No news is good news, they send an email if they dont want you and call if they do!

Job Interview Questions: Red lipstick to a job interview: Yes or No?

I'm going to a job interview at a restaurant today.
Should I wear red lipstick or just go with chapstick?

Job Interviews -- The Real Reasons Why You Need to Follow Up

Recommended Answer:
go with chapstick. i think red lipstick would be giving off too much of a sexy look and they might hire you just because they think you're hot...

The CAR Method Is An Effective Job Interview Technique

  • Go natural. Wear colors that are subtle that show off your inner beauty. Always remember to smile :)
It's more important for you to have good hygiene (clean teeth, neat hair, shaved legs, ect) because the boss is looking for someone who is mature and responsible. If you wear red lipstick, the boss might not take you seriously because you are trying to look all sexy and appealing.

  • oh gosh !

wearing red lipsticks on interviews is a wrong code of makeup for interviews.although it really looks great.do wear only pale and nudes shade or wear gloss in white or pink.
    it will look lot decent.
do remember first impression is last impression.

  • Wear a natural color to your shin color and a lipgloss or lipstain

  • No I think you should go neutral colors of lipstick on a light pink. But chapstick could work.

  • I would go with plain chapstick. You really want to make a good impression.

  • go with chapstick or you could go with a light pink/peachy gloss

  • How about a soft pink lipstick?

  • go with chapstick.

  • wear a nude lipstick instead

  • no

  • no i think pink would be better

Job Interview Questions: Top tips for a job interview?

I am a shy/nervous person when it comes to meeting new people and doing job interviews so any tips? Thank you

What To Do And Not To Do In A Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
Well there are the obvious things:
dress professionally and appropriately
have a resume, even if you were not asked for one (do not include jobs you were fired from or that you only worked at for a short amount of time)
stand up straight, and sit up straight
don't mumble
keep eye contact

some other things:
Do not under any circumstance point out and explain your flaws. Only have an explanation ready if you are asked.
Do not give long winded responses. Be straight to the point. Don't trail off on exceptions.
Show a definite interest in the position and make remarks on how you believe you are a great candidate for the position
Keep your body language in check. Do not fold your arms or put your hands in your pockets. Fold your hands loosely while the interviewer talks. Unfold them and keep your hands relaxed with your palms facing up while you talk as a gesture of offering. Do not play with your hair, play with a pen, play with your clothes, etc. it shows that you are nervous/self conscious.
If you are unsure how to answer a question do not hesitate to ask for clarification.
Do not give any false information.
Practice appropriate answers before you have an interview. Make sure you can answer "What interests you about this position?", "What interests you about this company?", "Do you prefer to work alone or in groups?", "Would you have any problem taking on a leadership role?", "What wage are you asking for?"
You may have to do some research beforehand on what the average wage for the specific position is.
Overall just be nice, do your best exude confidence, and don't get caught up if you stutter or stumble, simply smile and start that sentence over.
Also try to use the term "working with" instead of "dealing with" in terms of co-workers or clients/customers.
Be sure to thank the interviewer both as you walk into the interview and as you leave.

Do You Need Job Interview Coaching?

  • Dress comfortably, but be correct for the job U have in mind. That will make U feel good bout yourself.
Go early, that way if traffic is bad or U get lost U will still arrive on time and be relaxed.
Smile and be pleasant, even if U have butterflies in your stomach.
Take an extra copy of your resume, even if U have already mailed one in ahead.
Thank your interviewer for their time, and ask ever so politely when a decision will be made. That way U will know if they do not contact U in that same length of time.
    Good luck.

Job Interview Questions: What to wear to my first job interview?

I am sixteen and have my first interview in two days. Its at McDonald's, so nothing to fancy. I wasn't sure what I should wear. I could use some extra opinions. My interview is also right after school, so I won't have time to change before then.

Ways to Hugely Boost Your Job Interview Success Rate

Recommended Answer:
regardless of what anyone else says, do NOT wear jeans. find yourself a nice knee length skirt or a pair of dress pants that are not too tight. wear it with a nicer top that covers your boobs, and has at least a cap sleeve. if you are going to wear heels for shoes, make sure they are shorter heels, and dont look remotely hookerish.

yeah yeah i know its just mcdonalds, but first impressions count for a lot when you are applying for a job. wouldnt it suck if you turned up in jeans and got the one manager who was a complete dick about dress codes and wrote you off simply because you couldnt be arsed to wear something other than what you would wear to school on a normal day?

ive seen it happen. i used to work at a food place. and it was a small restaurant so if there was an interview going on, you could usually see/hear it. people who turned up in jeans never got the job.

Tips For Facing a Job Interview

  • Wear some jeans, a cute top, and some boots:) If not boots, just some sneakers or something, like these outfits i made on polyvore

Job Interview Questions: I have a job interview for real estate. What key points will they be looking for?

I'm 18 years of age and I want to get into the real estate industry. I have being working in the retail environment for the one company for over 2 years now and have had many leadership roles. and today I have an interview for a job in real estate as a sales person. Is there any advice that anyone can give me before my interview?

Job Interview: Are You Sending Red Flags And Eliminating Yourself?

Recommended Answer:
I have followed the real estate industry for a few years and a former relative co-owns a popular real estate company in the area. Here is what I've learned:

1. Dress very polished!
2. Speak eloquently.
3. Either show you are knowledgeable or accentuate your passion in the industry.
4. Exhibit your leadership experience, namely being charismatic and persuasive.

The real estate industry is all about perceptions and impressions.

Job Interview Cheat Sheet - Top 6 Questions & Mental Strategies

  • I cover for the receptionist everyday at a real estate firm I work for! So I see like 2-3 interviewers come in each day. Obviously, dress well! Be 15 minutes early! Bring a pen! These little things make HUGE impact. Weve seen people come in jeans and were already like noooo no no.

Job Interview Questions: Should I explain why I studder, during a job interview?

I am looking to relocate and will be needing a new job.
I have always studdered, and was taking speach classes all up through my school years. I am doing fairly well, bur will sometimes studder some. People generaly look at you and think you are slow when you studder, so I was wondering if I should share this piece of information during a job interview.

Job Interview Techniques Tips - What Techniques For Job Interviews Do You Need?

Recommended Answer:
Yes, definitely explain it. It's good to be honest to start off, and it will show your employer that you're trustworthy and have the courage to bring up a sensitive topic like that. If you try to hide it, he'll think you have something to hide and your honesty will be questioned.

Trying To Get A Job? Do Away With These Job Interview Booboos

  • Just be like "yyyyyo, I sssstutter, but I'm a straight up baller. I'm the best man for the job. I'm not slow or stupid. I know my stuff and I'm a fantastic worker. I trust I can succeed in this environment"

  • 'stutter' is the preferred spelling en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuttering

and yeah it might be okay to say something brief and discreet, so the interviewer knows you're not nervous, that it's a normal speech pattern for you

  • No explanation is necessary, but you need to know it is stutter, not studder. John Stossell on TV used to stutter. Mel Tillis stutters except when singing.

  • They'll notice that you stutter, so you might as well address it, by saying "I hope you don't think that I'm slow, just because I stutter. I assure you I'm quite capable of doing well in the job you're interviewing me for."

(Does the job require good spelling skills? Because quite honestly, based on your question here, I'd be more concerned about your incorrect spelling than I would be about your stuttering.)

Job Interview Questions: What to wear for first job interview?

I have a job interview in about a week and a half. It's for a summer job at Sports Authority. I was wondering what I should wear, considering it's Sports Authority.

The Cafe, a Cup of Coffee and a Job Interview - A Dangerous Brew

Recommended Answer:
You should always dress professional. Even if you were going to interview at Mc Donald's. Carry yourself with professionalism, integrity. It all depends upon how bad you want this job. You will sell yourself if this is really what you want. Remember the first impression, should be a lasting impression.

A Guide to the Most Evil Job Interview Questions

  • Take some time to watch a manager at the Sports Authority, see what he wears into the office. If he is dressed with a tie and shirt but not a jacket, then it is slightly less businesslike in dress. If he even caries a suit jacket in with him for work, ensure you wear one also.
Otherwise, if all are in sporty clothing, why not up it by wearing a blazer jacket (sport Jacket?), semi dressy but not as much as a full suit...
The rule always is dress up, rather than dress down. But it is VERY hard in situations where the average employee is in casual wear. Look towards the managers, then make a decision. I agree with the other person above, first impressions are important!

  • Many people get stuck when they are trying to settle what to wear at an interview. Myself I'm from the old school, I contend that formal wear is never inappropriate; you can get some tips from the website in the box below, they also have a lot of stuff on job searching.

  • Dress professional regardless if its a Sports Authority.First impressions are unforgettable.
