Tips For Job Interviews - Information You Need to Know

Recommended Answer:
NO. That is one sure way to annoy your potential employer. Pestering rarely lands anyone a job. Wait until they call you. If you MUST know, you can call and ask about the status of your application ONCE. If they give you the run around, just move on and apply elsewhere. If they haven't had a chance to look at it yet, give them some more time. Certainly don't keep calling every single week. You may never get an interview, and continually calling them will likely drive them away for good.
If you do land an interview, then it is all right to follow up weekly, under certain circumstances. If they say they'll call you next Tuesday, and Tuesday comes and goes, give them one more week and then call them to ask where you stand. If they don't know yet, and don't say when they'll get back to you, then call again in a week. If you have to call more than a couple times, move on. Don't harass them. If they really want you, you'll know it - THEY will call you.
I know job hunting can be like this weird dating game where there's all these rules about who calls who and when etc., but it does get easier over time and you'll get the hang of it after a few years experience in the job world. Good luck.
