Job Interview Questions: I was trying to get a professional look for a job interview and shaved off my eyebrow while trying to trim it?

I try to fix it and even it out with the other eye brow and just made everything worse. What the hell was I thinking? Any tips on how to fix this mess?

How To Stand Out From The Crowd At Job Interviews

Recommended Answer:
You'd be better off shaving the other one to match. Go to your local make-up store and tell the make-up consultant what happened. She should be able to set you up with at least an eyebrow pencil, and possibly a couple stencils to ensure that you create the right shape and that both eyebrows are symmetrical. You can also buy hair re-growth products for eyebrows and eyelashes. These are easy to find online and will help your eyebrows to grow back faster so that you don't have to spend as long penciling them in.

In the future, don't use a razor or anything like that for facial hair (I'm sure you've figured that out already, though). Use tweezers or eyebrow wax (which you can get at most drugstores). Another option is to go to a salon and get them waxed, threaded, or tweezed professionally. It's pretty cheap, usually around 10-15 bucks.

Good luck! As long as you pencil them in as naturally as possible, you should be fine for your interview. Just try to make them look as close to your natural eyebrows as possible. You don't want them too bold because that would only draw more attention to them.

How to Answer Job Interview Questions - How to Impress Your Potential Employer

  • color it with marker (or leave it alone it might grow fast)

  • Shave the other. Symmetry is more important that hair.

  • The only way to correct an eyebrow mistake is with an eyebrow pencil. Sorry dude, but you will either run around with strange brows, or you'll look like you just had a makeover. anyway, they should grow back to there original shape in 4 to 6 weeks, unless you cut your natural arch out, then they will grow back straight across

  • my best friend did this too. Go to the store and get an eyebrow pencil and fill it in. you can get them in the same color as your hair. No one noticed for her but it takes practice to get the penciling rite. Good Luck!!

Job Interview Questions: Call back regarding unidentified job interview?

I received a message from a woman saying that her company found my resume on Monster and they were impressed by my qualities and would like to interview me. She didn't say what the company was or the type of position. I received the call around 7PM but didn't realize it until much later. Is tomorrow too late to call? And, would it be inappropiate to ask about the company/position? I don't want to go in for an interview not knowing what it was for! Also, does it sound sort of scam-like?

Use Good Scents for Your Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
That is VERY fishy
1 - a legitimate employer would have told you the company name and position in their voicemail, example "This is Jane Doe from Acme Company. We found your resume on Monster and would like to speak to you about a Sales Associate position based in our Anytown USA office"
2- What legitimate employer calls you at 7pm? If they were professional, they would call during normal office hours

You can call them back but do not agree to go in for an interview until they give you the company name, the company address, the position they are recruiting and a description of the exact job. DO NOT set up a time over the phone - say "Unfortunately I don't have my calendar with me at the moment. If you could give me some times that work for you, I will check my calendar and get back to you later today"

Then research the company
-check their BBB rating
-do a google search of the company name + scam
-check to make sure they have a listed phone number
- do a google search of that address to make sure that company name comes up

Job Interview Questions: Is it legal to ask in a job interview that one is home owner or renting?

is it legal to ask in a job interview that one is home owner or renting? I have been asked by some companies this questions directly and by some indirectly. Some recruiter has suggested me that I should always say "renting" as it looks to companies that one can easily move then.
Thanks

HOW to Answer Job Interview Questions

Recommended Answer:
It is not illegal to ask. I would recommend being honest. It is an easy enough fact to verify by an employer as they have your home address and can easily look up the public record to determine who owns the property. So, I would just tell the truth. You could always give a further explanation that says something like "I own my home but have the flexibility to sell for the right opportunity".

What Colors To Wear To A Job Interview

  • No it is not illegal, it is a question they can ask. It is not better to say that you are renting as most companies that want to move you would help you sell your home and buy a new one in the new location.
Generally if someone rents rather than owns it may show issues in their personal life such as bad credit or fiscal mismanagement (an unfair stereotype perhaps, but true non-the-less) whereas if you own it shows a level of responsibility that employers are looking for.

  • Why would that be illegal??? What CRIME did they commit? Owning a home shows someone who is grounded. A renter shows someone with mobility. Neither is worse than that other. It just COMPLETELY depends on what the company is looking for. If they are seeking someone who is open to relocating, then the "renter" is the better candidate. If they are looking for someone who they want to fill a position for the next 10 years or so, then the home owner is better.

Asking is a person owns a home or not is NOT the same as asking about their religion, or ANY other protected classification. HUGE difference in fact.

Is Your Body Secretly Sabotaging Your Job Interviews?

Recommended Answer:
It is a commission only type job.

You will have to pay for your own gas, taxes, FICA, social security, plus pay fees to use the office, buy leads, pay for training, certification and will be expected to make very high sales goals.

If you are an excellent sales person who has a background in insurance sales and hundreds of friends, family, neighbors to whom you can sell insurance to and enjoys cold calling people from an office with your personal cell phone for 10-12 hours a day, then Bankers might be the job for you.

If you are not a sales person, have no background in insurance, have a few dozen contacts, don't enjoy being hung up on, don't have unlimited day minutes on your cell, then Bankers might not be the job for you.

Job Interview Questions: Job interview - sales merchandiser?

I currently work in retail (department manager).

Ok, so I have a job interview tomorrow with Pauls, an Australian milk / dairy company. The position I am going for is sales merchandiser. It is casual 28 - 35 hours / week. What sort of questions do they usually ask for a role like this?
What should I prepare for?

So far, I have done some research into the company (who owns it, where they distribute, what they sell, etc). Also, I have answers to "why are you leaving your current job", but what else would they be likely to ask me?

Please help me out here, I really would like this job.

Thanks,

Why Should I Hire You? Job Interview Question and Answers

Hi Martin. This will help:

Interview Techniques

General Tips & Advice

Before your interview find out everything you can about the company. Keep a copy of your application and re-read it before the interview and think through your own career and the questions they might ask you. You should try to anticipate the general questions which they will ask and also prepare some questions to ask them. (See below)
To do well at the interview you will need to convince the interviewer you are sufficiently qualified to do the job. You will also need to show that you are motivated enough to get the job done well and that you will fit in with the company's organizational structure and the team in which you will work.
You should dress smartly for the interview and should leave home earlier than you need to on the day of the interview - you may be delayed by traffic or for other reasons. Be courteous to all employees of the company. At the interview itself you must be positive about yourself and your abilities - but do not waffle.

Questions to Ask at Interview
The interview is a two-way process. The company interviewing you will want to find out whether you are suitable to the position and you will want to find out if the company and position are right for you. You should therefore ensure that you have enough information to make up your mind whether you want the job. For example:
•What will be my responsibilities?
•Where will I fit into the overall organization?
•Who will I report to?
•Where does he/she fit in the structure?
•Who, if anyone, will report to me?
•How experienced are they?
•What do you expect me to do in the first 6 months?
•What level of performance do you expect from me?
•Who are your customers?
•Where is the company going? Expansion plans?
•What are the chances of advancement/promotion in this position? When?
•What will be my salary, benefits and bonuses? [Do not bring this up too early in the interview - wait until they are sold on you.]
•Will travelling be required in this position?
•Will relocation be required now or in the future?
•What training do you provide?
•When will you decide on the appointment?
•What is the next step?

Questions you might be asked on interview day

•Tell me a little about yourself.
•Explain a situation in which you were working with a negative person. How did you handle it?
•What was your most favourite class in college and why?
•What was your least favourite class in college and why?
•Who was your favourite professor in college?
•What type of work did you do at your former employer (internship).
•How would you describe yourself (e.g. Are you hardworking, intelligent, etc)?
•Maybe some technical questions related to the job.
•What do you know about our company? How do you think you can help us achieve our goals?Interview Body Language

When you are being interviewed it is very important that you give out the right signals. You should always look attentive - so do not slouch in your chair. Never lie to anyone in an interview, your body language and tone of voice or the words you use will probably give you away - classic body language giveaways include scratching your nose and not looking directly at the other person when you are speaking to them. If you have a moustache you may want to consider shaving it off - people with moustaches can be perceived as being aggressive. You can always grow it again once you have got the job. Do's and Don'ts

•Being unprepared for the interview - you should always prepare thoroughly before any interview (this will also make you feel more confident at the interview).
•Poor/limp handshake - always a bit of a no-no. Practice with a friend.
•Saying unfavourable things about previous employers - the employer will be wondering what you will say about them if you leave their employment.
•Being aggressive or acting in a superior way - nobody like this so don't do it.
•Making excuses for failings.

Good luck on the day, Bob

Job Interviews - How to Quickly and Easily Succeed at Them

      Recommended Answer:
Not unless your employment contract, handbook or collective bargaining agreement states they must.

Giving an employee time off to pursue other job opportunities seems rather counter intuitive. You may have accumulated time off for other reasons (vacation, personal days, sick days, etc.) if allowed under the terms of your employment. If you have, use one of those days.

Job Interview "Tells" Some Employers Use Against You

      • *facepalm*

If you really want to push the issue, just tell your employer why you want the time off. They will be happy to give you all the time you want after that. In fact, they'll probably even give you off the rest of that day and ask you not to come back.

      • Nope. Why on earth would you think your job has to let you interview for another job? What you should have done was asked for a personal day or taken a vacation day.

      • Not only is there no law to force an employer to give you time off for that purpose, but an employer can rightfully release an employee seeking a job elsewhere.
