Job Interview Questions: Had a job interview-----followed up once, should I do it again?

I applied for a job, then after a week or so, I emailed asking the status of my app and was given an interview! I had the interview last week; I sent a thank you email and recieved a reply Monday saying she would let me know by the end of the week. It is now Thursday night (they are closed Sat and Sun). Should I send an email asking about my status or would this bug the employer?

Job Interview Cheat Sheet - Top 6 Questions & Mental Strategies

I do not think it would hurt your chances at all to follow up. Some times people get very busy and overwhelmed and forget to do things like letting you know the status. You could just send them a polite email letting them know you were following up. It shows initiative on your part. Your sending them a polite email could actually remind them in the event they are needing to follow up with someone else. So yes, just send a short and polite email.

    Good luck!

Tips to a Job Interview Presentation to Impress Your Hiring Manager

    • I've worked in employment services for 7 years now and I would recommend that you contact your interviewer at the beginning of the following week, Monday or Tuesday, seeking an update. Don't contact her before the deadline she gave you expires. Employers are busy and have to deal with changing priorities all the time filling the position you interviewed for may not currently be their current top priority - it happens. You may feel like you are being a bug to the employer but be persistent until you get a response. If they want you it won't hurt your chances of getting the job. If they don't want you being persistent change anything and will get you your answer and allow you to continue your job search.

    • In this particular instance, when you have already followed up, you should trust the interviewer to get back to you. Sometimes, "I'll get back to you by the end of the week", means "I don't have the guts to tell you, NO". And if you continue to lay on the pressure, you're wasting your time.

    • If it was me I would call them everyday to check the status of the application and interview thats if you didn't hear back. Its good to be persistent and aggressive when it comes to looking for a job.

    • If they want you they'll be in touch.

Job Interview Questions: Which one of these is better for a job interview at a chain restaurant?

    1. Short sleeve black shirt, nice khaki shorts and black gladiators
2 dress with black cotton on the bottom and grey sparkly on the top with black flats... I'm thinking that this may e a little too dressy, because this interview is only for red robin. Nothing too fancy.

I wanna know is there anything I can possibly do to become less nervous, be myself and still land the job????

          Recommended Answer:
Ooh, I'm used to always be very nervous during job interviews! I felt like they were judging me!

What I did was I told myself to calm down over and over. Just think, the interviewer certainly won't want to hire a nervous wreck!

If you get dry mouth, just be glad you won't be spitting when you talk. LOL.

It also helps to practice talking to someone, maybe an older brother or your parent.

In the end, just remind yourself that even if you don't get the job you atleast know what to expect in the next interview!

          World's Best Job Interview Tips

          • This is very common. There are a couple of things you can do. First of all, convince yourself that this job is not really that important. You can take it or leave it. Realize that the interviewer is also a bit nervous. He/She has never met you before either. Speak in a friendly calming tone to them as you would any other person that you have just met. There is a tendency for you to want to fill in the spaces of silence in the conversation with, as you said, repeating the same words over again. Do not try to keep the conversation going. Just sit there quietly and wait for the interviewer to ask another question. Then answer with a short accurate reply. Realize that the person is just another human with the same thoughts and feelings that you have. They also had to go through a nerve wracking interview like you are to get their job.

          • This is completely normal. Take some deep breaths, let the interviewer know that you are nervous, some times admitting your fear makes it seem less. Tell yourself, "This is the job for me" and "No fear"
Just stop and think before you answer the questions, and try to be a calm on the outside as possible.
Remember, the interviewer might be as nervous as you!
            Good Luck!

          • go in there with the attitude that you already have the job, this is just a formality. think of the interviewer as a friend, and treat them like one. remind yourself it isn't the end of the world if you don't get the job. have lots of candy or breath mints on hand, and make sure to offer one to the person giving the interview... don't know why this seems to break the ice but it does. call them by their first name, helps to think of them as a friend. share something silly and personal when you're shaking their hand.... like "i was almost late getting here because i was so nervous i forgot to put my socks on!"

          • Is this REALLY a mental health question? Almost everybody is nervous during a job interview.

          • Just be yourself and just chill the night before - maybe in front of the television. Try positive thinking like 'I can do this .'

          • Have a beer in the parking lot before the interview.

          • Masturbate. It'll reduce the stress.

          • God can help you live a better life if you want Him to help you. You can have a personal relationship with God by saying the prayer below. God is our Creator, all-knowing, all-powerful, eternal, holy, love. God loves us and sent us His Son, Jesus Christ, so we can go to heaven if we know and follow Him. Forever means without end -- time on and on without death. Forever is what happens after we die. Either we go to heaven and be with God forever, or we go to hell which is very bad and painful forever. The good people who are saved believers in Jesus Christ go to heaven. The bad people go to hell. We need to know and follow God in this world to get to heaven in the next world. We follow God by loving and obeying Him and loving others for Him. Jesus Christ, God's Son, is our bridge to God. Jesus died on the cross to cancel our sins. We need to accept Jesus into our life as our Lord and Savior forever to receive God's blessing and forgiveness plus go to heaven to be with God forever after we die. This is about being a born-again Christian. Faith in God is a gift from God. You can pray for faith in God. Just speak out and ask God for the faith to believe in Him and to follow Him. Some people find faith in God when they realize the beauty in the world is made by God. Evolution can't explain the world's natural beauty, for example, the parks in the world, animals, flowers, peacocks, sunsets, butterflies, rainbows, etc. After you have your faith on, you can pray a sinner's prayer to be a born-again Christian. This prayer is very important and should be said with a sincere heart and faith in God. This is the prayer: "Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and that Jesus Christ is the sacrifice for our sins. I have done the following sins (state these out) and I pray to discontinue these sins. I pray to receive Jesus Christ into my life as my Lord and Savior forever. In Jesus' name, amen." You could find a good Christian church and try a weekly Bible study group with them to learn more. You can pray to God about your daily life.

That depends on the management of THAT location and how well your interview went. If they have no interest in hiring you, they will not EVER call you back. There is no policy that EVERYONE MUST be called back within a certain amount of days. They are a NATIONAL retailer and how quickly someone gets a call back will depend on THAT store's management.
