Job Interview Questions: Is it bad to mention that you have children at a job interview?

Like when they ask if you if you are employed or what you do? Or what you spend your days doing. Is it better to just not even bring it up, or would it be ok?

Job Interview - How Your Body Language Can Affect Your Interview

Recommended Answer:
I don't think it is bad to mention that you have kids, as it may actually help. Most parents have long term goals, since they have children to support. It helps show that you understand responsibility.

Secrets to Answering Job Interview Questions About Your Weaknesses

  • it is not bad to mention that u have children if you are asked about them, as the interviewer possibly have children too.

tell the truth if your chidlren are not employed, and give a good explanation why., e.g., they are studying or under training. You dont need to volunteer the bad parts, if any, about them.

you dont mention about your kids unless asked about them.

  • it's not bad to mention kids, but don't include you have to be off by 3:00pm to pick them up,or watch them at nite.If they ask,and I have had them ask if working til 6 is a problem with kids and I always say no my mother watches them. DON'T say you have a nanny or a sitter.
It really is none of their business and shouldn't effect your job.

  • First, a good interviewer should never ask about whether or not you have children, as is can open the door to discrimination claims against them. If there is a good reason to mention them, like saying that the big gap in you employment history was due to raising your kids, that is generally fine. Otherwise, you're better off just focusing on what you can do and how you're qualified for the job, and generally speaking your kids aren't part of that.

    Good Luck.

I will be applying for my first job soon and I get a bit nervous when I'm in situations like this.

Job Interview Techniques to Land Your Dream Job

Recommended Answer:
First of all, good luck to you! Be yourself and know that the recruiter is just a person too, so just talk to them like a person. I interview people every day that try to give me answers they practiced or got from a book and it doesn't work. Know what you are going to say, but not word for word. Have examples of times you were responsible, on time, a good team player, showed initiative, was able to multi-task. Know why you want to work there. Know what kind of manager you want to work for. They could ask anything along those lines. No one should give you the questions and responses because you should speak as you and show you have a personality. It's the best way to get the job. Again, good luck!

Be Ready to Answer the Top 10 Job Interview Questions

  • As a hiring manager, I've always leaned towards people who ask intelligent questions.
Go to the company website and read about them. You may develop some questions about the company from doing this.
Ask if there is potential to grow within the company and when they are looking to hire.
Another important factor; After the interview, if you don't hear from anyone, call in 2-3 days and let them know you are ready for the next step in the hiring process.

  • They will ask why you want to work there. What do you think your weaknesses are and your strengths.

Why you want to work there-you like working with people , you are a team player , you want a place where there is growth .

they will ask what hours your avail-those types of jobs need weekends and some nights so make sure your avail

I want to wish you tons of good luck on your interviews.

Job Interview Questions: How can I nail my job interview today?

Today is my third and final interview for an assistant manager position at a popular restaurant. I've already met with the owner of the company and the AGM, and today I'm meeting with the GM. I'm pretty sure I've made a good impression with the first two or I obviously wouldn't be having a third interview, but does anyone have any pointers to really help me lock this up?

smile a lot, explain how you could help them make money thats what they care about, be your self, make eye contact if you-re nervous let them know and make sure to mention your experience doing whatever it is your going out for =)

Job Interview Tips to Employment Success

  • your job is to support the manager in running the store so I would keep mentioning that you are a team player and try to use examples where you can. remember to be yourself and be honest. using '' big words'' might seem a good idea as suggested but make sure you don't sound patronizing, the boss will not like someone who they think is better than them ( trust me from experience) . show that you can lead and motivate the staff and that you can be trusted to run the store in the GMs absence and you will be fine.

    Good luck ;)

  • The key to interviews is to be yourself but, along with that you have to act more intelligent or in other ways "fit" for the job. Also maintain eye contact, be confident!

  • I would say be confident, just go in knowing you're right for the job and he/she will see that through body language and how you act. It defiantly will help.

  • be yourself, try to use big words.

Job Interview Questions: Do you have any job interview tips?

I have an interview for a job at a local coffee shop next week! It is only my second job interview and i don't have any past work experience. Do you have any tips? What should i wear? What kind of questions could i expect to answer? etc.

Question To Ask At A Job Interview-5 Of The Best Questions!

Recommended Answer:
First, be yourself. Make eye contact, smile, and keep your answers short. Be honest, friendly, and don't ramble or say anything negative. Show them how you will be a good addition to their shop and you're a team player that gets along well with others. If it's a customer service position, then friendliness and good communication skills are going to be the most important. Actually getting an interview is usually the hardest part in the process, so you have to convince yourself to relax and allow your friendly personality to show.

It is usually recommended that an applicant dresses like they would if they were one position up from the one they're applying for, so basically dress a little nicer than what most people wear to work at the coffee shop, but not like someone who owns a chain of them might.

I have no idea where you are in the world, but in the U.S., there are tons of free services for job seekers that include practice job interviews, resume writing, and networking. They are offered through churches, community non profit groups, and government employment services, so you should be able to find some help, no matter where you are.

Again, you've done the hard part, which is get the interview. Now you just have to show up on time, relax, and be yourself. Don't worry about specific questions, just answer them truthfully without going on too long. Sometimes people over prepare and make themselves too nervous. Most interviewers aren't put off by a little nervousness or hesitation on the part of an applicant as it is an unnatural situation, especially for people that haven't been through it a lot. If you were applying to be an account manager at a hedge fund or a sales team leader, it might be a bit different. You'll do fine, I'm sure. The fact that you're concerned shows me you care and want to do a good job. Now show the interviewer that.

Job Interview Questions: Should I wear my monroe to my job interview tomorrow?

I have a job interview at Toys R Us tomorrow and was wondering if I should wear my monroe there or just wear my retainer? Also dose anyone know if toys r us lets you have facial piercings?

5 Telecommuting Job Interview Tips

Recommended Answer:
Wow, your question gets as much spam as my questions!
Anyway, yes. I would suggest you absolutely wear a retainer to the job interview. They also go on how you appear when you go in. Then if you get hired you can find out their exact policy regarding facial piercings. Most places I've worked in customer service, however, don't allow it. But you could be lucky.
Anyway, good luck!

I am going to a job interview at fancy sox but idk what should I wear? Any suggestions? And what should I know about the store?

What Are The Most Popular Job Interview Questions?

    Recommended Answer:
if you interview with mcdonald's for a cashier job, or for a swiming teacher, you should always look as professional as a CEO! this applied to fancy sox. i learned that in college, and it was one of the few things that i still remember. here are some guidelines on what to wear:
Men and women should wear a suit (two pieces cut from the same cloth). Colors: dark blue, or medium to dark gray. Black is acceptable, but some find it too authoritative. Fabric: solid or subtle pinstripe, plaid or tweed.
Women: may wear conservative jewelry, no larger than dime-size earrings on the earlobe.
Men and women may carry a black, brown, or maroon leather portfolio.
