Job Interview Questions: Ideas on preparing for a job interview as a summer camp cook?

I am going this afternoon and although I have cooking experience in a cafe and school cafeteria, I think I will be placed in a more managerial position. I am afraid I won't be able to handle all the responsibility...it's also exciting at the same time.

The Job Interview - Tips For Winning Your Interviewer Over

Recommended Answer:
Dab some Beanie weenies behind your ears and offer your interviewer some over sized marshmallows. Discreetly spraying insect repellent in your pits at some point during the interview may be laying it on a bit thick but tuck a can of Off in your bag anyway and play it by ear.

Job Interview Questions: Please I need tips, I have a job interview @ the designer Coach Bag store. What should i wear suit or be casual?

They said its going to be a group interview , are their going to be more candidates interviewing with me or 2 , 3 interviewer person. Should I take my coach bag, what kind a questions should i be prepared for ?????

Prepare for a Great Job Interview With These Questions and Answers

    Recommended Answer:
Dress as you will when you work at your particular duties in the organization. Let the interviewer (s) see you as fitting in. Of course, use your Coach bag but only if it works with the rest of your outfit, otherwise it will appear staged.

Expect group-based questions to be bounced off of you and the other candidates. DO NOT show any negative attitude towards other answers! If anything, be bigger than that and approve of answers you strongly find agreeable. Questions should focus on your character values---honesty, generosity, desire to help the customer find what she wants and your wish to learn all you can about the lines of merchandise so you can become expert.

    Good luck!

    Job Interview Techniques

    • For this type of job, I would wear something dressy, but I don't think you need to wear an actual suit; you don't want to look stuffy! Take your bag, definitely, and be prepared to answer, not only standard interview questions. This is a designer store; they're most likely looking for someone with a good sense of style, but is also personable. If you're interviewing for a sales job, they'll be looking for someone who can move the merchandise.

    • Sounds like you're going to be interviewed as a group with other people all at once. I would go with a business/casual outfit. Be prepared to answer questions like how you plan to be an asset to the company, future ambitions with the company etc....

    • Before you go in for an interview head by the store and take note of what kind of uniforms the people who currently work there are wearing. If I remember right, the people working in Coach stores wear a rather formal uniform of black pants, with a black blazer and a colored blouse. But that might just be the stores by my place. You should go to the one you might be hired at and take a look. Then, whatever the employees there are wearing, you should dress one level above. Unless they are wearing full on business attire. If all else fails a suit will always look good unless you're interviewing for a job as a cashier at a grocery store or something equally informal. Go ahead and take your Coach bag, it couldn't hurt your chances.

You might be going to a group interview with other candidates so they can get a feel for who you are as a person and what type of position would best suit you. Then if there's interest there's a possibility that they will either interview you 1 on 1 or if you're going for a higher level position in the store you may be interviewed by up to 3 people.

A 1 on 1 interview for a retail storefront position shouldn't be too difficult. They'll expect the usual from a retail employee, ie. professional attitude, handling stress during peak hours, customer relations skills, sales skills, fast-paced environment handling abilities and so on. They may also give you examples of a situation and require you to describe the action you took or would take, then the result of said action.

I would say you should expect the normal run of the mill questions for working retail. They'll probably try to interview you all and get a feel for how you and the other candidates handle difficult situations in a retail environment such as what you'd do if you encounter a problematic customer, how you deal with stress during high-traffic shopping hours, and how you will deal with customer and coworker issues, as well as how you would approach a customer to sell an item in the store.

5 Top Tips For Handling Telephone Job Interviews

    • do the pencil skirt and the white top. it would look really cute and elegant. if it looks too plain add a silver necalace and a normal sized silver ring. to make it look a bit more casual, wear a dark blue or black cardigan ontop. not the drap cardigans, but something like this :www.frenchtruckers.com/wp-content… except unbotton it and roll up the sleeves (:
      hopee i helpeddd

    • sounds like a great outfit-black skirt white blouse and black tights. or the other combination of black dress and black tights. either will be fine

Job Interview Questions: What is the best answer to this job interview question? Can you name something negative about yourself?

I don't want to go with the usual "I'm too much of a perfectionist" or "I take on too much responsibility" or "I work too hard". I feel these are cliche responses that they will see right through. I also don't want to say something bad about myself that makes them not want to give me the job.

I have an interview for a possible promotion and I know they always ask this question, no matter how pointless it seems to me.

HOW to Answer Job Interview Questions

    Recommended Answer:
"I smoke too much crack and sometimes it interferes with my work"
"I frequently want to bop people on the head who ask me stupid questions"
"I have trouble sharing responsibility since I want to be sure it's done correctly"
I suggest going with the 3rd one...

    • The best way to answer this question is to pick a skill, software, or training relevant to the job that you dont know and explain that you haven't had to opportunity to learn A and than follow up with an action plan on how you want to acquire that.

This shows that you are capable of recognizing your weaknesses but you have the direction and drive to get the solutions you need

    • I would tell them that it's a very hard question which would require some soul searching, but you would expect it to be trivial whatever it might be. I would add that no one is perfect but that you always aspire to that end.

A kind answer to an otherwise stupid question

Job Interview Questions: Are piercings okay for job interview?

I just got a nose piercing yesterday(a stud) and I have a follow up job interview with Chick-fil-A in a few hours. I am freaking out because im afraid they won't hire me if they see I have a facial piercing. Do you have any recomendations on how to cover it up, or do you think they will be okay with it?

From the Eyes of a Job Interviewer

    Recommended Answer:
I would say take it out if it's against their dress code - I frown on applicants that come to interview for me with piercings or not wearing professional clothing. On the other hand, if the applicant is really qualified and assures me they will remove it when working their shift, I wouldn't let it stop me from hiring them. Good luck at your interview!

I Landed a Job Interview: Should I Stop My Job Search?

    • Remove the piercings until after your interview. Ask the boss, or the person doing the hiring at that time, if certain piercings are allowed. A lot of businesses, including major retail stores, don't allow some types of obvious body piercings (or large, uncovered tattoos)...it doesn't show a "professional" appearance and some customers find it offensive, especially older customers. So ask first before you wear them.

    • Perhaps you can cover it up with a bandage? But rather than that, I'm not sure if having a facial piercing is a good idea for a job interview because first impressions are everything in the business world.

    • Most often it is not. I know where I work, people like that are the topic of "Are you kidding me?" in the break room all day after their interview.

    • At Chick-Fil-A, ABSOLUTELY NOT. They are a very conservative company and your chances of getting the job would be significantly hindered if you show up with a piercing.

Job Interview Questions: Job Interview at a Sony Centre on Saturday - Advice? [10 Points for best answer]?

I'm very eager to go to this job interview, and I have had past experience with them. I currently work as banking staff caterer at a private hospital. Unfortunately, I do not receive enough work to make some good money to support me as a nearly-18 year old.

I am currently an A2 student in the UK, studying Computing, ICT, Biology and Chemistry. The guys in there seemed to be impressed by the fact I do computing and ICT.. and I'm a girl.

I would greatly appreciate any help on:

    - What to wear (But please elaborate, not just 'smart clothing')
    - Make-up
    - How to impress
    - What to say
    - How to make a good first impression

Every answer will be appreciated, and the best answer will receive the 10 points as promised in the title.

What To Do During A Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
Hmm, not sure about the appearance parts, but i'd do some research on the company just in case they ask you if you know any knowledge of the company.
When you meet the interviewer firmly shake their hand and give them a smile, and ask how they are- just a casual conversation. Hope that's ok.
    Good luck :)

Job Interview Questions: Resume help. First job interview Monday and i have no volunteer work or job experience what should i do?

Ok i have a job interview on monday for UNOS resturant as a host. this is my first job interview ever and i have no experience and i really never done volunteer work, does any one have any suggestions on how i should complete my resume

Five Tips on How to Prepare for a Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
I find it hard to believe that you have ZERO job or volunteer experience.

Have you ever baby sat? Mowed a lawn? Done something helpful at church? Tutored someone in a class at school?

If you've got those sorts of things, you've got experience. Even if you've never been paid for them.

Just list out the sorts of things you've done .. .

    For example . . .

    Babysitter
    Various employers
    2009 - 2010

    - Cared for other people's children in their absence.
    - [list an accomplishment or two associated with the job, never late, never lost a child, constantly complimented by parents for my ability to make their children happy]

Do this with anything you've done.

You've done SOMETHING in your life, so take credit for it.

Job Interview Questions: Do employers mind when you ring after having a job interview?

I had a job interview 2 weeks ago they asked me to go back 2 days later for a second interview, which went very well and sent references out immediately so things were looking good! They said they would notify me by letter but I still haven't heard anything......Idon'tt know if I should ring them so I look keen or could it just annoy them???

Five Tips on How to Prepare for a Job Interview

      Recommended Answer:
A follow up call is highly recommended and very appropriate. It shows your interest in the job and your professionalism in the hiring process. Ring away!

Job Interview Advice Everyone Can Use

      • Its been 2 weeks and either they are still interviewing, haven't made any decisions or you did not get the job . I would call them Wednesday if You don't hear back but don't count on it keep looking I am sorry to say

If you gt the job they would call not send a letter so its a good sign you did not get the I am sorry to inform you letter. Wait 2 more days then call. it should not annoy them its not like Your calling each week.

      • Hi?

The answer depends on the job and the requirements. If it is for a call center employee level job, few skills with high turn-over, then it might be worth you time to call them if they did not say when you would hear back from them or you might be better off waiting another week before calling. However it is a job that requires a degree of technical skill or use of judgment then I would hold off as it may take up to four weeks or more before you hear back.

Job Interview Marathon: Win the Race!

      • For an interview like this, you won't need much. I would bring a pad of paper and something to write with. Jot down a few questions you have about the position. It will help you to come across as professional, engaged and well prepared.

You might want to bring proper ID, Social Security card or passport. With a job like this, it's possible they may decide to hire you then and there and you could begin some of the paperwork.

        Good luck!

      • You do not need your ID or social security card until you're actually hired. Just bring a list of references if you want and a smile
