Job Interview Questions: Ideas on preparing for a job interview as a summer camp cook?

I am going this afternoon and although I have cooking experience in a cafe and school cafeteria, I think I will be placed in a more managerial position. I am afraid I won't be able to handle all the responsibility...it's also exciting at the same time.

The Job Interview - Tips For Winning Your Interviewer Over

Recommended Answer:
Dab some Beanie weenies behind your ears and offer your interviewer some over sized marshmallows. Discreetly spraying insect repellent in your pits at some point during the interview may be laying it on a bit thick but tuck a can of Off in your bag anyway and play it by ear.

Just keep thinking in your head that it's not the end of the world. Think about tomorrow, it won't affect you at all. The sun is going to come up and you're still going to wake up. Think 10 years in the future, it won't affect you then and you will probably not even thinking about it.

How to Answer Job Interview Questions - How to Impress Your Potential Employer

    • Hi! As a young adult who has been in several interviews, let me tell you that they don't get ANY easier! They are nerve racking because you don't know what to expect. The best advice I can give you, being 25 years old with much experience, is come prepared. I went on a long search on the internet to find tips on how to expect the unexpected, I guess you could say. I found a place that actually gives you "practice" questions to help you get into the swing of answering. It gives you tips on what to say to add to the question, it gives you a couple of different approaches you can take as well. Practice makes perfect, and while you won't know exactly what is going to be asked of you, the site gives you very "general" questions for you to practice. Good luck, hope you do great!!

    • Ah, I remember an interview I had with Sears once.
I was so nervous, when the receptionist asked my name, I said "Uh..."

      Sit up straight.
      Dress to impress.
Look at their face when you talk to them.
If you are interviewing for a job that requires a lot of customer interaction, don't say "Well, I'm a people person."
If they hold out their hand, shake them by the hand firmly. Don't give them the grasp of doom, but don't give them noodle-arm either.
Walk upright, at a slightly swift pace. It makes you seem more important and confident.
And remember this for all interviews: After the interview, mail HR a thank-you letter.

    • First of all, remember to breathe. It seems so simple, but not breathing right can make it so much worse. Focus on each question at a time and answer the best you know how. If you find yourself rambling, stop what you're saying and regroup. Have answers ready for possible questions but don't memorize long responses. Just general ideas. Make sure you actively listen to everything the interviewer is saying. Nerves tend to make your mind wander. Try your best to relax. Good luck! I hope this helps somewhat.

Job Interview Questions: What to wear to a job interview at a clothing store?

I have an interview at a clothing store that has laid back clothes such as destroyed jeans, obey clothing, and skate clothing. I don't know if it would be better to go dressed in the kind of clothes they sell to show that I like the same style, or to wear slacks and a nice shirt. Help!

Great Tips for a Successful Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
People generally advise you to dress up at least two levels higher than the current job for which you are appearing. It will create a good first impression. Never wear blue jeans while attending a job interview. Casual job interview attire is not advisable if you are serious in getting the job.
The general rule is to opt for conservative shades and designs. Bright checked shirts, loud colored blouses, and odd designed dresses are not to be worn at all. You have to ensure that the set of dress you have decided to wear for your interview is sparklingly fresh and without any crease marks whatsoever. Also ensure that the shirt is buttoned up fully when attending the interview.

Job Interviews - 10 Cardinal Sins

    • slacks and a nice shirt on interview day, then after they tell you that you got the job where whatever you want, look professional, tells them that you care about the job you are applying for, you prob where there cloths everyday, maybe mention that in your interview but dont where them to the interview.

    • This works for any job: Go to the place where you are going to apply and look at how the people that work there dress. This is important because you want to look like you >>work<< there not necessarily like you shop there, and every store has their own requirements.

      I hope this helps :)

    • wear the type of clothing that the other employees r wearing, n if u wear clothes from that store to the interview, they may think that ur trying to kiss their ***....i mean kissing up....

    • Wear a nice outfit so they think you give a sh*t then wear whatever the other employees are wearing on your first day! GOOD LUCK!!!

    • wear the clothes theyy sell(:

      good luck btw

    • wear clothes they sell at that store, duh.

Job Interview Questions: How should I reject an job interview and not burn the bridges?

I want to say something like I would like to continue on my current job (coz of challenges and all the glam reasons), so I had to reject your offer of interview. But I want to also say something polite like maybe we can work together next time and do keep me inform of future opportunities, how should I put it in simple, polite words without burning the bridges?

The Job Interview - Communications Objectives and Issues

    Recommended Answer:
Don't reject the interview. That doesn't necessarily burn a bridge, but it does waste their time. Sit through the interview, and then if you're offered the job, just politely tell them that you are unable to accept their offer at this time. Be sure to thank them for their time and consideration.

Job Interview Questions: Are piercings okay for job interview?

I just got a nose piercing yesterday(a stud) and I have a follow up job interview with Chick-fil-A in a few hours. I am freaking out because im afraid they won't hire me if they see I have a facial piercing. Do you have any recomendations on how to cover it up, or do you think they will be okay with it?

From the Eyes of a Job Interviewer

      Recommended Answer:
I would say take it out if it's against their dress code - I frown on applicants that come to interview for me with piercings or not wearing professional clothing. On the other hand, if the applicant is really qualified and assures me they will remove it when working their shift, I wouldn't let it stop me from hiring them. Good luck at your interview!

I Landed a Job Interview: Should I Stop My Job Search?

      • Remove the piercings until after your interview. Ask the boss, or the person doing the hiring at that time, if certain piercings are allowed. A lot of businesses, including major retail stores, don't allow some types of obvious body piercings (or large, uncovered tattoos)...it doesn't show a "professional" appearance and some customers find it offensive, especially older customers. So ask first before you wear them.

      • Perhaps you can cover it up with a bandage? But rather than that, I'm not sure if having a facial piercing is a good idea for a job interview because first impressions are everything in the business world.

      • Most often it is not. I know where I work, people like that are the topic of "Are you kidding me?" in the break room all day after their interview.

      • At Chick-Fil-A, ABSOLUTELY NOT. They are a very conservative company and your chances of getting the job would be significantly hindered if you show up with a piercing.
