Job Interview Techniques - 3 Super Tips When Preparing For A Job Interview

  • Is there internet available at your hotel? E-mail it to yourself, then look up any internet cafe's that might be in town. If you are in a fairly urban area, you should easily find one. (I visited Sydney last year, and there was an internet cafe even in the grocery store Woolworth's!). At the most it should cost you a couple dollars to log-on and do a print job, depending on if it's in color or black/white.

  • Basically what your asking is "Is it OK to arrive for an interview unprepared"? What do you think that will say about your expected job performance? In the US there are many internet cafes and office supply stores such as Kinkos that charge a nominal amount to print pages. They even have memory sticks for sale on the premises. I'd suggest you find one if you want the job.

Mastering the Job Interview - 5 Tips to Make Yourself Irresistible to the Interviewer

I can't speak for all offices, but the one I work at doesn't ask any questions. People call, ask if they can intern at our office, and we say yes. The most important thing is that you complete all of your hours. We rarely have interns do that, and they are missing a great opportunity to make a good impression and possibly find a position at our office. Good luck!

Job Interview Questions: What should I wear for a job interview at staples?

I'm at college so I have limited resources. I got a beige and black long sleeve dress shirt with matching ties. Black dress pants and shoes. I am not sure if this is overdressing though? I know the rule of thumb is to dress one level better so I am not to sure about this. Please some advice. Thanks.

Sounds like you dress just fine. Polo shirt would work to. Khakis work to with dress shoes. And nice belt works too. But what you mention sounds just fine. But if you have cologne don't over do it. Some colognes just stink or to overbearing. Good luck.

Job Interview Questions: What do I wear to my job interview?

I always wear a suit to any job interview.

I guess you could wear business casual. Perhaps dockers, a button up white dress shirt, and a tie. With dress shoes.

Career Change Job Search: Job Interview Tips!

      • Normally, you wear an outfit that is appropriate for the job above the one you're applying for, but it might be a little different in your case. You absolutely don't want to wear what you would when you're performing the duties that you're applying for, so you should go with something neat, professional, and that you're comfortable in. Slacks, nice shoes, and a button down shirt. Maybe a nice sweater if it's cold where you are, and I wouldn't necessarily wear a tie, though you certainly could. Make sure everything is clean and your shoes are polished. In spite of all that, you don't have to dress up, just be neat and tidy. It might make a slight difference if you're in Beverly Hills or somewhere a little more rustic, but you want to appear competent and respectful. Don't forget to shave.

Make eye contact, have a firm handshake, answer questions thoroughly but don't ramble, don't complain or say anything negative, smile frequently, and let the interviewer know how caring and responsible you are. Emphasize your many strong suits and how you can be a valuable addition to their team. Don't forget to be positive in all respects and thank everyone you talk to for the opportunity to discuss the position with them. The fact that you spelled and punctuated your question shows that you're way ahead of most people your age (or the ones that post questions here for that matter) and I think you'll do well. Good luck, and I was probably kidding about shaving.

      • Dress for the job you are applying for. But neat. Jeans, good ones. shirt, good work shoes, leather. rubber soled. cotton socks.

      • You can never go wrong with a nice shirt and a tie. In order to tell what style of tie is in watch the news anchors on TV.

      • just wear nice jeans and a nice shirt, no tie

      • good question.......google it u'll find some good tips.

Job Interview Questions: Job Interview - What do i say when they ask why are you leaving your job?

I have a job interview tomorrow at a law firm being a admin assistant. What I'm doing now is the same thing basically, same duties but I am leaving because I want a full-time position with a better pay which they are offering. When the interviewer asks me why do I want to leave? What should I say? How should I phrase it in a very professional way, that I am leaving due to more hours & better pay?

          Thanks in advance.

The Importance of the Job Interview in Canada

          Recommended Answer:
I always sit second chair at our law firm's interviews. I am the sole paralegal in our firm and my boss values my opinion. With that said, we never ask why you left. We try not to put people on the spot. If you are asked this question, I would leave out the part about pay. It's kind of taboo to speak or bring up money matters in an interview unless the interviewer brings it up.

I would say, "I feel I've outgrown my position at ABC Company and am looking for the opportunity to grow professionally with a different company."

If they inquire why you've felt you have outgrown your position, that is when you can mention that the position was only part-time and you want more for your career. I would leave the better pay out of it. That's just a bonus :)

          Some Sound Job Interview Advice

          • You say, that you want a better range of job opportunities that do not exist with your current employers, the possibility of advancement, to take more responsibility is the primary reason for your approaching them, for the job in question.

The opportunity for a career, rather than "just a job", is your motivation, There is nothing wrong with ambition, and saying so to an interviewer, tells them that you are more likely to actually do something without needing to be told, to progress both your career, and their business enterprise, this willingness to work for a purpose, is the quality they seek, not just someone who will simply watch the clock, while they wait to go home...

            .

          • You are currently working part time and seeking full time employment. Leave out better pay, b/c that tells them you'll jump ship if someone else comes along offering even more. Seeking FT employment kind of already says you are looking for more money.

          • Tell the interviewer you're wanting to further your career by seeking better opportunties.

Job Interview Questions: Is it normal to be nervous on a job interview?

          Recommended Answer:
An intelliegent interviewer can tell and assumes most will be nervous. It is all in how you handle that nervousness that will tell them what they need to know. If I interview a prospective sales person and they appear nervous to me I will determine if they can overcome this before they represent the company so it is an issue. If I am interviewing for a warehouse guy I could care less but if someone makes me uncomfortable I will probably round file the application.
