I have never heard of this and would be very suspicious of this. I have had phone interviews to mainly weed out those that are not interested in the job or those that did not really meet the basic qualifications but I cannot imagine an IM interview. Strange. please share what kind of job it is just for my own curiosity.
In am in the IT field and have worked in hiring and interviewing.

Tell us a little bit about yourself

What are your strengths?
--Give strengths that match well with the position for which you are applying.

What are your weaknesses?
--Give another strength disguised as a weakness. I sometimes focus so much on the task that I don't get enough sleep, or work too many hours.

How soon can you report to work if selected for the job?
--Tell them when you are available to start.

How much money are you willling to work for?
--Find out what the going rate is for that type of job. Ask for the lower end if you are inexperienced, or the higher end if experienced.

Are there any questions that you would like to ask us?
Use this to show your knowledge of the company by asking a question that relates to something the business does, or a client they have, or something like that. Or ask about some other aspect that only someone familiar with the work would know to ask.

Job Interview Tips Begin With Knowing the Process

  • I'm sure your school uniform will be fine. Just be sure to tidy yourself up as much as you can before the interview, and I wish you the best!

  • No, because what if the person interviewing you isn't religious and discriminates against Catholics? Or they feel that you didn't take the time to put your best foot forward and dress for success? It is best to dress professionally for any job interview. First impressions are the best impressions. This will put you above the rest.

Job Interview Questions: I have been invited for a job interview unfortunately the position ....?

.... Being offered is below my current position. I am neither too happy nor too unhappy in my current job. Should I decline the interview? How should it be handled? Will it burn future bridges? Is going for the interview and wasting everyone's time a better solution to this situation?

Interview Skills You Need To Succeed In a Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
You are in a great situation, because you have nothing to lose. It's great practice for taking a flyer: go in, and see if you can impress them suitably to 1) get a job offer and 2) have them amend the job, level, and salary to meet your requirements.

If they ask why you came in, if possible, tell them that you really want a chance to work with them (list things that make this company so great), and that while you realized that the job was beneath your current level, you couldn't refuse the chance to meet them, and talk about options, current and future. If it's clear the job can't be re-worked, take some time before refusing, let them know that you really, really, wanted to take the job, apologize for taking their time, but when you ran the numbers you just couldn't find a way to make it work.

If you handle it well, you won't burn a bridge. You'll build one.

Job Interview Tip Number 1 is Preparation

  • It is important to find out more. Is your current job going up anytime soon? Will you be promoted and do you think this job offer could further you in your chosen career? If you think that this job, after considering the questions, could be a way of getting higher up, quicker - then go for the job interview - after all, what harm could it do? You can decline at a later date, and explain at the interview that this is below your current position, but you feel that this company could offer you a better future.

    Hope I Helped =)

  • It shouldn't be too hard to explain that you don't think the position is right for you in a polite way. Thank them for the opportunity and say you'd like to stay connected (if that's the truth).

They are obviously interested in you for a reason, and will probably respect the fact that you don't want to waste their time. But letting them know how you feel could open up other doors at that company. Perhaps there is - or will be - a different position that is right for you.

How to Handle a Courtesy Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
Do you have prior retail experience? If so, before you go to the interview, think about what problems the store faced and how you helped solve them. If not, research the job description for the type of job for which Macy's is interviewing to have an idea of what problems you might face and think of solutions for them. You can also show up on time (or even a little early) for the interview and tell them how punctual and reliable you are.

The Top 10 Things You Must Do During a Job Interview

  • Tell them you have decided to be honest, reliable and punctual, with great focus on work quality and a friendly helping attitude towards the customers. Give them the date you made this decision, and show a reference from the place(s) worked at after decison was made.

Do you bring knowledge about the possible departments? Can you have a chance to set a sales record? Will you find the shoes the customer wants? If it is automotive, can you explain the battery choices? Can you locate the best item within the customer's budget?

Do you know how to offer choices and say which do you prefer (after giving the sizzles)?

    Stuff like that.

Job Interview Questions: What are some questions that you will definitely be asked in a job interview?

I came back from a terrible job interview so I'm assuming that I'm not gonna be hired at that job. I forgot some questions that the interviewer asked me because the only thing that I was thinking about the entire time was how bad I messed up by being so nervous. I need some questions to get myself prepared for whenever my next interview takes place.

Job Interview Questions to Ask Potential Employers - The Do's & Don'ts

Recommended Answer:
In this economy, you need to be thinking outside the box when it comes to jobs. Adults as old as their 70s, who lost their retirement savings because of the financial scandals, are now working jobs previously done by teens, as are younger adults trying to support families

In trying to find a job, you have to look beyond working in a store, a burger joint, some other area that does not require experience and/or expertise.

One needs to think about what tasks that need to be done, but people hate doing, and are willing to pay someone else to do.

One needs to think about starting their own business to set your own hours, without the problems of needing for a work permit, being too young, and not having the needed experience.

This article talks about one such area in which a Denver (CO) woman quit her upper management job to do, earning her over $75,000 a year, working outside, setting her own hours, and can be done using a bicycle as transportation. It is also something a child or teen can be doing with an unemployed parent.
