I have never heard of this and would be very suspicious of this. I have had phone interviews to mainly weed out those that are not interested in the job or those that did not really meet the basic qualifications but I cannot imagine an IM interview. Strange. please share what kind of job it is just for my own curiosity.

Job Interview Questions: Fast food job interview?

I got a call from Tim Horton for an interview, this is my first job interview ever (I'm 18).
My questions are:

1. What should I wear? Is it okay if I wear t-shirt, jeans and rubber shoes?
2. What are the things to bring?
3. Sample of questions they will ask to me and also the answers.
4. Any additional tips.

Thanks

A Guide to the Most Evil Job Interview Questions

Recommended Answer:
As a general rule, you should go into the store and see the clothes that management wears. Then copy them. Second best is what the help wears.

Strengths? Responsibility, honesty, good with math, speed, not lazy, willing and able to do well all that's asked of you, fast learner, upbeat personality.

Questions? That's too hard since all hiring managers have their own set of questions. A common one is why you want to work at their store or why you chose their company. Basically, all answers should give the impression that you are the type of person that they'd like and enjoy having working alongside them, you're a team player, and that you will be working there long term (more than a month or two or three) if you like it there. Employers generally don't like turnover. It's a pain and expensive for the company.

Light up the room and the interviewer's mood when you go for the interview, and give a nice firm, friendly handshake.

You're not interviewing for the position of CEO or anything close, so whether or not you get hired will be 95% based on your apparent personality. So pay close attention to conveying the characteristics I mentioned above and getting hired should be a piece o' cake.

Good luck, Black. :-)

Job Interview Questions: Any advice for my first job interview?

This Tuesday I have an interview at a kennel. I'm a little nervous, naturally. I am curious what I should be wearing to an interview. Would something such as a plaid button up shirt and dark-blue skinny jeans be okay? I don't want to under dress. I'm a 18 year old guy and a little on the shy side, but do you think they will have me working the front desk asking people if they need help right away?
Thanks for any advice. (Also this is my FIRST job and job interview.)

Impress Potential Employers By Getting Job Interview Practice

    Recommended Answer:
If you are afraid of being underdressed, wear a suit. You can never go wrong with that at an interview - even if that isn't what you are wearing for the job, it IS appropriate for the interview.

Try to prepare for specific questions if you are nervous. Every employer will ask why you want to work there - so think about a couple of good things to say that are specific to the place, not general. They might also ask you about your good and bad qualities. Most importantly - show them that you really want the job.

Discriminatory Job Interview Questions to Avoid

    • Be sure to listen carefully. Answer truthfully.

When it is your turn to ask them questions, ask job specific questions that show you are interested in the duties, such as "how do you handle cleaning a room with a patient present?" "Should I clean the common areas and hallways as well?" "How frequently do you do a deep scrubdown that will require extra effort?"

Showing genuine interest in the tasks usually will get you the job. Do not ask about yourself or pay or vacations or anything else that would make it look like your self centered. Ask those questions after you get an offer.

How to Handle a Courtesy Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
Do you have prior retail experience? If so, before you go to the interview, think about what problems the store faced and how you helped solve them. If not, research the job description for the type of job for which Macy's is interviewing to have an idea of what problems you might face and think of solutions for them. You can also show up on time (or even a little early) for the interview and tell them how punctual and reliable you are.

The Top 10 Things You Must Do During a Job Interview

    • Tell them you have decided to be honest, reliable and punctual, with great focus on work quality and a friendly helping attitude towards the customers. Give them the date you made this decision, and show a reference from the place(s) worked at after decison was made.

Do you bring knowledge about the possible departments? Can you have a chance to set a sales record? Will you find the shoes the customer wants? If it is automotive, can you explain the battery choices? Can you locate the best item within the customer's budget?

Do you know how to offer choices and say which do you prefer (after giving the sizzles)?

      Stuff like that.

5 Tips For a Successful Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
Ummmm, the potential employer schedules an interview, not you.
If you have no previous experience (and I bet thats true from your question) a resume will do no good as that's what a resume is for...work history.

How to Prepare for a Successful Job Interview

    • You do not need a resume for each. Fill out the application, and they will call you if they are interested.

    • Resumes are not necessary for an entry level position that requires no experience. Usually the employer will know all they need to about you from the application itself. Now, if you have a degree and some experience working it is a great idea to have a resume even though your work experience may not be much it may show the employer you do have some experience...

If you were to do a resume what you should put is the truth.. usually resumes include you college schooling and achievements, your work history (usually divided into relevant (in this case would be retail) and other depending on the job you want)..

they would also include you objective.. for example "to acquire a position in retail sales"

and above all this info you would need to have your name, current place of residences, permanent place of resident and your phone number and email would be a good idea..

Dont worry about creating a resume go find a nice professional template and fill in your info, its that easy..

but again you do not need a resume unless you have something to show such as a degree or previous work experience..

And to address the interview.. only employers (typically the HR department) will call or email to set up an interview... which will either be a phone interview, a panel interview or just one on one with your soon to be boss..

      GOOD LUCK..

    • Here is all you need to do. Go into the place and ask to speak to the manager. Tell the manager who you are and that you are looking for a job. Ask if they are currently hiring and express that you would like to fill out an application. They will take it from there. Make sure you ask them when they will be interviewing for the position if they don't offer you an interview on the spot and make sure you follow up a few days after you put in an application.
