Job Interview Questions: What did you wear to your first job interview?

Please also tell me where you applied for (or type of business) and also include whether you got the job or not!

Working in Retirement: Job Interview Preparation

Recommended Answer:
I applied for work experience internship when I was 15 at a local TV station (yeah, I got the job) - I'd heard it was a really casual place so I wore a cute dress and some leggings, which I could probably get away with at my age. It was a pretty casual outfit. But everyone else there was dressed way more casually than me, all in baggy jeans or tracksuits, so I was glad I hadn't overdressed. If you're not sure what to wear go for a happy medium.

Job Interview Questions: What do I wear for a job interview for a delivery truck driver?

I'm not sure what to wear because it's a beverage delivery job. I think it would look awkward for me to wear a suit for a driving job. I understand if it's for an office job . My other job was also a driver as a garbage collector and all I wore was a nice t shirt and some jeans and got hired right away. But being the fact that this is a nicer job Im not sure what to wear?

Job Interview Skills - What You Must Have to Land the Job

Recommended Answer:
I don't think it's necessary for you to wear a coat and tie, but as a minimum you probably should wear a nice collared knit or button shirt and docker type pants. If jeans are your only option, make sure they're the best pair you have, and also wear a nice pair of shoes or boots. Hope this helps and good luck with the interview!

How to Recover From a Bad Job Interview and Get the Job

  • Always dress up it doesn't have to be a suit but wear some slacks and a shirt and tie. I heard a guy that runs a construction site tell the guy that came in for an interview even though we don't work in slacks and a tie make sure you always go to every interview dressed in some type of business atire. Wear slacks a shirt and tie!

  • A good general rule is to dress one notch above the dress code. So, if there is no dress code, shirt and tie. If the dress code is shirt and tie, wear a suit.

  • business casual

Job Interview Questions: Appropriate job interview attire in heavy snow?

I have a job interview in 3 hours, and we're in the middle of a really heavy snowstorm. Normally I wear a nice pair of heels or flats for an interview, but the snow is up to my knees and its hard enough to keep my balance in boots. In this type of weather, is it acceptable to wear plain black boots (similar to uggs, only cheap) to an interview? What else is acceptable to wear?

If it helps, the job I'm applying for is a sales position at a very popular computer company, represented by a fruit. Aka I want this job very badly! This is the 3rd interview.

Questions to Ask Your Interviewer in the Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
A good employer will understand that you have to wear something appropriate in bad weather so wear your black boots.

Job Interviewing Skills: Increase Job Offers With Effective Communication!

  • I would say your best bet is to wear the boots even though you have trouble balancing in them. They will handle the snow better than flats or heels, and it's worth it if you end up getting the job!!

  • i wouldnt wear ugg boots (or anything similar)
i think they would understand if you wore sneakers or something for your safety in the heavy snow.
if it snows a lot there you should invest in some Sorels.

  • Just do this: wear the snow boots to the building, bring your heels in an attractive tote, change into the heels in the lobby or bathroom before you enter the interview. You'll look sensible, together, thoughtful and like a rockstar.

    Good luck!

  • Bring a spare pair of your Heels. Change them in the lobby and leave the dirty boots in the closet where they will hang your coat.

Of course carry them in a bag,

    Good Luck

Job Interview Questions: What should I wear to my job interview?

I've always thought wearing slacks was appropriate for a job interview, but now I'm questioning whether or not I should. The job I am interviewing for is a server at a steak house that is so laid back the servers are wearing jeans and there are peanuts on the floor. I think I may feel funny walking in with nice dress pants. Is it appropriate to go to the interview in nice jeans with heals and a nice shirt or should I go with the standard dress pants and blouse?

Know the Common Job Interview Questions

Recommended Answer:
wear something nice and elegant. a good pair of jeans with a blousy shirt and the shoes should not be very high. wear neutral- colored make up.for the interview part, know something about the company and its background . Try knowing the job description of the position you are aiming at so that you will have an idea about the job post--- in case they will ask you questions about it. You can try this site for more help and info about job description. Just search bestjobdescriptions on the net. good luck

Job Interview Skills: What Does The Employer Want To Hear?

  • wear a blouse with jeans and nice heals and tie back your hair. oh and try dark wash jeans becasue they can be formal or casual.

  • I think dress slacks and a nice top would look nice. Even some super nice (classic dark wash) jeans and a nice top would look good. Go for something that would look professional.

  • this sounds like Texas Steakhouse!

I've always gone by this foolproof rule:

For interviews, dress for the job you are applying for. Observe the people in the position you want, and wear what they do!

So in this occasion, I think jeans heels and a nice shirt are appropriate.

Remember to keep a smile on your face, and seem open and friendly and outgoing.

An ourtgoing personality is the biggest thing employers look for in their servers!

    good luck :)

  • wear what the employees wear. make sure your hair looks good pulled back. make sure your nails look clean.

this is a "people person" position. make sure you tell them you enjoy working with all kinds of different people and that you enjoy talking. be prepared to answer the question "how would you handle an angry customer".

  • well something kinda fancy but not to fancy you dont want them to think your a snob
nice jeans a cool colered blouse with hair straighnted and hoops with a pair of elagant, funky shoes

  • People generally advise you to dress up at least two levels higher than the current job for which you are appearing. It will create a good first impression. Never wear blue jeans while attending a job interview. Casual job interview attire is not advisable if you are serious in getting the job. Opt for conservative shades and designs. Bright checked shirts, loud colored blouses, and odd designed dresses are not to be worn at all.
You have to ensure that the set of dress you have decided to wear for your interview is sparklingly fresh and without any crease marks whatsoever. Also ensure that the shirt is buttoned up fully when attending the interview.

Myths About The HR Professional As The Candidate In The Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
This is a little off topic but in today's employment environment there are 3 critical steps that must be taken 100% of the time to successful land any job. Unfortunately, more often than not these simple steps are not taken.

1) It doesn't matter weather the position is for a janitor or an engineer you must take the time to figure out what is important to the employer.

2) You must be prepared for the unexpected when it comes to questions and general conversation.

3) You will be amazed because once you have done your homework your stress levels will drop and your confidence will rise. This will put you in the front runners position no matter what the experience level of the other applicants.

You should always dress according to the employers style. If it's a casual position/employer then dress casual, if it's a strictly professional position/employer then your attire should be professional. More importantly you should always no matter casual or professional error on the conservative side....never over do it or wear extremely bright colors.

Employers hire those that respond to questions effectively and appear confident over experience the majority of the time.

This can almost guarantee your success with any job....

8 Job Interview Mistakes You Should Avoid

  • The first impression you make on a potential employer is the most important one. The first judgment an interviewer makes is going to be based on how you look and what you are wearing. That's why it's always important to dress professionally for a job interview, even if the work environment is casual.

What's the appropriate dress code for an interview? You'll want that first impression to be not just a good one, but, a great one. The candidate dressed in a suit and tie is going to make a much better impression than the candidate who showed up not as presentable.

  • Look at what the current employees are wearing. Go just a little nicer. I'd go with a dress shirt and a tie or the female equivalent. You're dressing for the person who has the money, e the shopper and the store manager.
