Job Interview Questions: What should I wear to my job interview?

*The job is selling tickets at a Cinema.
*The employer seems laid back.
*I have a suit but it's old, "grandpa"ish, and I'd only rather wear the jacket if its absolutely necessary.
*The weather is pretty hot!
*I was thinking jeans and dress shirt. Its very me.
Help!

Job Interview Techniques

Recommended Answer:
I would always wear a suit to show that you are serious about the job. It is always safer to overdress than under-dress so I would still go with the suit. If it is really hot, you could probably just wear a dress shirt, tie, and slacks and leave the jacket at home.

Job Interview Weaknesses - How to Overcome These Common Job Interview Weaknesses

Something professional but cute! So be covered up don't show your boobs to the world, I'm sure you probably figured that but, still. Be dressy too! And be very talkative during the interview don't be shy, and be very sweet! I'm sure you figured all that but just in case!

Job Interviews - Ten Etiquette Tips To Help You Ace The Interview

    • That's a really cute dress! I don't think a black cardigan would be necessary, though I do suggest tights if the dress if too short.
It won't look tacky. I mean it may take away 2% of the cuteness, but if it is too short (that can be your judgement call), you will definitely appear as trashy and not get the job.
Smile often and ask and answer questions with personality. No one wants a generic answer, because those are often meaningless. Appear fun and energetic, but not too quirky or loud. But above all that, remain professional. Personality and professionality don't need to come separately.
Good luck! Let me know what happens!

    • go spy at what the manager is wearing & copy that.If u don't get the job, return it.Besides focus more on ur school at this age than going banana on a stupid job & stupid corporates that encourage teens to join them.U don't wanna end up meeting ur friends who chose to stay in school while u're cleaning the floor or taking the trash out.Once u start with them they'll remind u that it includes cleaning the restrooms or pushing shopping carts,if not washing ur s/visor's car.Relax, this is no Mexico where u dress up like Paris Hilton or Shakira at school. It'll pay later on if u hang in there for awhile with jeans & tees.

    • i would wear something like that so you show you have style but would wear the black cardigan with it because you also want to appear mature and ready to handle anything(: good luck
      now can you answer mine?
      answers.yahoo.com/question/index?…

    • I don't like that dress. Sorry but that's my opinion. I would wear a nice fancy shirt, some skinny jeans, and a pair of sandals. You're still young so you don't want to look like you're trying too hard.

    • What you showed looks good. Make sure its not see through though! Back yourself and be confident!

Job Interview Questions: What kind of questions do employers ask at a job interview for a clothing store?

I have my first interview EVER tomorrow. I am only 16 so I'm a bit nervous and want to be as prepared as possible. What kind of questions do you think the employer will ask considering that it's a clothing store? (if that makes any difference)

Use the above link. It's great. It gives typical questions and best answers. Being a little nervous is good, coming in with a cocky attitude will lose you the job unless it's a hard sell sales job. If it's retail sales, they just want someone that will be nice to the customers and apply a gentle pressure to buy. The one question I can almost guarantee they will ask is why do you want this job. The truth is you want to make some bucks to buy stuff. Don't say that. Tell them what you think they want to hear. Say I love your department store and want to gain some experience on the ground floor so I can rise with your fine organization. Good luck, it's always tough for your first job.

      World's Best Job Interview Tips

      • This will be open and shut. You are 16 and it's a clothing store. The "interview" will just to make sure you are presentable and aren't stupid. They will probably hire you on the spot, or just ask you random questions. It's not like you have a resume. Depending on the store (if it's a big name or not), they might just have you fill out an application online and take a "test" that has to do with checking your morals. It basically asks you the same questions, but in different ways, and they're all going to be related to laziness, can they trust you not to steal, etc.

      Recommended Answer:
I applied for work experience internship when I was 15 at a local TV station (yeah, I got the job) - I'd heard it was a really casual place so I wore a cute dress and some leggings, which I could probably get away with at my age. It was a pretty casual outfit. But everyone else there was dressed way more casually than me, all in baggy jeans or tracksuits, so I was glad I hadn't overdressed. If you're not sure what to wear go for a happy medium.

Job Interview Questions: Job interview at Walmart, should I dress up?

I have a job interview at Wal-mart monday. I was thinking about just wearing jeans and a nice top, but I'm not really sure. Any suggestions on something I should wear???

Four Job Interview Mistakes That Can Torpedo Your Chances of Success

      Recommended Answer:
Absolutely. Regardless of what kind of job your applying for, or where it is or what they specialize in, you should always make the best first impression you can by putting effort into your appearance. This shows that you'll put just as much effort into your performance on the job, which guarantees you a spot. I would not necessarily wear a completely tailored suit, but maybe a simple day dress, with a cardigan, blazer, or jacket over top (to give it he dress an edge of sophistication and professionalism). For shoes, something simple, maybe patent leather ballet flats or cork wedges, or even stilettos. Hope this helps and good luck with the job!

Why Being Interviewed First Can Mean "Last" in a Job Interview

      • If you really want the job, dress up. It looks like you are serious and professional then. It shows that you are making an effort and it makes a much better impression. Wear black pants, black jeans probably being fine, a nice blouse and a blazer.

      • Yes dress up, first impression is key. Nice pants and a nice button up shirt should be good. If you have a nice clean pair of shoes that would help too. Good luck with the interview :)

      • nah man have you seen the people who work at wal mart?
        answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…

      • No.
Wal mart is at the bottom of the barrel.

      • Walmart is pretty low. Mybe if you wear their clothes they will love you and except you ;D

      • nope just wear a simple pair of clean jeans and a polo. it screams college kid.

Job Interview Questions: In a job interview, if another person applying has more experience how do you overcome this?

I have a job interview in a few days at a place I worked at before, but I am worried I may not get the job because at all the interviews I've gone to the usual reason I don't get the job as I've been told is: "Your qualified and would work well, but we hired someone with more experience."

In a job interview, what are some ways to try and state you would be a better choice then even someone with more experience?

Job Interview Training For Managers - Will's Story

      • The best thing to do in this situation is to work on providing more details during your interview that show you have experience or know what you are speaking about. The second thing to do is make them feel you are the experienced one they want to hire. How do you do this you need to know more about the position and what a highly qualified person in that position needs to be able to do in order to be the best. This is done by researching the company, job, and even interviewing current employees. I hope this helps. Good luck

      • They could have more experience but be a total jerk. If you have not got experience but are able to be trained some times is better. You know if you get the one that thinks they know it all and don't it sucks. If you are qualified but lack the experience you could really be taught alot.

      • You can ask what they are looking for in an employee, then you will know where your strong points are and what areas you need to improve in. Use your strong areas to overcome the weaker ones

      • Bill,

It's all a bunch of lies, they hired somebody they know or they hired a cute blond. or someone who kissed butt in the interview.

Advice on Having a Successful Job Interview

      Recommended Answer:
      Just be yourself.

Ask questions that pertain to the work and job responsibilities. make sure the people you talk to are aware of your skill set and your experience.

5 Helpful Rules to Successful Job Interviewing

      • I agree about having a great attitude.

I would also research about CPAs, and brainstorm of ideas that can help them. There is too many people looking for jobs. You don't have want to be one of those people that's going to ask for a job. You want to be the person going there with ideas, looking to add more value to them. You help them make more money, and you will have a job guaranteed.

Also find out if you can get the list of the names of the people going there. That would really help you as well.

Job Interview Questions: What should I wear to my job interview?

I've got a job interview tomorrow and was just wondering what type of clothes would be appropriate to wear? The job is at Walmart, so I'm not thinking anything too fancy, but I'm not sure. I was thinking khaki pants and a polo shirt, but I'm not entirely sure. My only job interviews before have been for landscaping companies, so I've always just worn jeans and a t-shirt, which is obviously not appropriate here. Anyway, any help is appreciated.

How To Prepare For Your Job Interview

      Recommended Answer:
Better to dress up too much than to be too dressed down... Pressed khakis and a button-down, collared shirt (tucked in and belted) would probably be "ok". The polo shirt might be too informal. If you have dress pants, dress shirt, and a tie go with that. Yeah, it's overkill, but that's an asset not an issue.

5 Tips For a Successful Job Interview

      • Wear your robe and wizard hat and if he turns you down cast the Spell of Elune on him. Make sure you are wearing your +3 SP boots or it won't work.

      • Khaki's most definantly, and the polo tee. Trust me, this is enough to wear. :)
