Job Interview Questions: In a job interview, if another person applying has more experience how do you overcome this?

I have a job interview in a few days at a place I worked at before, but I am worried I may not get the job because at all the interviews I've gone to the usual reason I don't get the job as I've been told is: "Your qualified and would work well, but we hired someone with more experience."

In a job interview, what are some ways to try and state you would be a better choice then even someone with more experience?

Job Interview Training For Managers - Will's Story

  • The best thing to do in this situation is to work on providing more details during your interview that show you have experience or know what you are speaking about. The second thing to do is make them feel you are the experienced one they want to hire. How do you do this you need to know more about the position and what a highly qualified person in that position needs to be able to do in order to be the best. This is done by researching the company, job, and even interviewing current employees. I hope this helps. Good luck

  • They could have more experience but be a total jerk. If you have not got experience but are able to be trained some times is better. You know if you get the one that thinks they know it all and don't it sucks. If you are qualified but lack the experience you could really be taught alot.

  • You can ask what they are looking for in an employee, then you will know where your strong points are and what areas you need to improve in. Use your strong areas to overcome the weaker ones

  • Bill,

It's all a bunch of lies, they hired somebody they know or they hired a cute blond. or someone who kissed butt in the interview.
