Job Interview Questions: What to wear to a job interview?

Its an interview to be hired as a computer technician and the position is being offered by a department here at my university. I was planning on wearing solid black slacks, black dress shoes, and a solid red dress shirt with a striped black/red/silver tie. Is it job interview formal to wear a colored shirt. It is literally red, not maroon, not red/orange, not pinkish, solid crayola RED. thanks :D
