First of all I write the questions I think they'll say and I write an answer on paper. If you write it down you can use big words and its easier to memorize. Second the most difficult question that they always tend to ask is when they say "So so and so, tell me about yourself" that's when you sell yourself. In one paragraph how can you make yourself awesome. I think about my personality and how I like my job and I'll say some thing like"Well I enjoy working in a fast paced environment, I am organized both at home and at work and I love to challenge myself." So it kinda paints a picture of my personality and strong points. Another tough question is the "what are your strengths and weaknesses" I find it easier to have your weakness compliment your strength. I.E. my strength is I like to set goals and push myself. My weakness is I beat myself up when I don't achieve them. So it doesn't seem too bad. They're gonna ask you questions like "what was a time when you needed to solve a problem" and "what did you like best and least about these jobs" "what is something you did really well" and "what is something you did not so well" brainstorm and think of anything from work, scchool, bor volunteer work. And above all DON'T LIE! Dress nice, smilebcheerfully, and keep your hands in your lap. And make eye contact... if that intimidates you like it does me look between their eyes when nerves. That's all my wisdom... hope it helps. ]ood luck!

The Inevitable Job Interview Question: "Why Did You Leave (Are Planning To Leave) Your Last Position

    Recommended Answer:
Job interviews can and will vary widely. One of my friends had a job interview (for an Engineering position) where the discussed various methods of duck hunting. Another friend (again for Engineering) had an interview were the interviewer required him to solve a series of problems involving op-amps. Another person (I think one of my interns) had an interview where they ran errands with the boss and just talked in the car about nothing in particular. If a company is desparate, they might hire you because you have a pulse and have an IQ greater than a rock.

With interviews, there usually is a common set of questions. I'd recommend googling "common interview questions" and review several web pages worth of questions and think about intelligent answers to the questions. I would be prepared to answer a question regarding the following:

    1. Long-term goals: you will probably hear some variation of "where do you see yourself in 5 years?". What are your long-term goals? Do you plan on college? Do you want to be middle-management? You want to be a lazy SOB and want absolutely no advancement beyond the entry level job? Think about where you want to be and formulate answers. You want your answers to sound thoughtful while at the same time an asset to the company. If you want to be a stock broker and this is a position for customer service, leave that bit out. However, you could say that you are looking to expand your skill set and work your way into a job that involves finances and a high level of accountability. If you want to be a manager, you could say that you want to work at several entry level positions to give you a better understanding of the business so that in 5 years you could begin working toward management.

    2. Strengths/Weaknesses: about 75% of interviews I have been on, I have been asked about strengths and weaknesses. Think about strengths that are directly related to your job. You mentioned customer service, you strengths could be a friendly demeanor, confident or resourcefulness under stress, or a deep concern for helping people or problem solving. Weaknesses is a tough one. The gambit i use for this is I find a weakness that could also double as a strength.

    3. Why should I hire you: Most people think this is a tough question, but I love it. Here is your chance to sell yourself. What makes you good at your job or what about you would make you an asset to their company. I make almost 6 figures doing customer support. I have had people and companies ask why I should get paid that much to talk on the phone. Here is my chance to sell them on what makes me worth the money and I have really impressed some people with this question. Think about what makes you great. What will make you better than Jim over there? Why you? I would consider a great answer to this question between now and your interview.

    4. Teamwork: you will probably be asked to name an instance where you had to work across teams or a time where you solved an issue as a team. Teams are important in the business world. i like to answer this in a playwright type fashion. First, give an intro to the scenario and key players. Second, pose the problem and make it sound hopeless. Finally, explain how you and your team solved the issue (did the impossible so to speak) and became the hero of the hour.

    Some more pointers:

    1. Remember that an employee exists for the benefit of the company. Be prepared to phrase your answers in a manner that will sound like you would be an asset to the company.

    2. Also remember an interview is like a first date. Both sides are investigating as to whether or not a future relationship is a good idea or would be enjoyable. Don't be afraid to ask questions of the interviewer to make sure the company and you are a good fit.

    3. Play the part. You say that that the job you are going for is for customer service. You should sound calm, confident, and be enjoyable to talk with.

    4. This is the business world. Under no circumstances bring up about childish exploits involving fights, sex, or alcohol.

    5. Do some research. Check the companies financials if they are public. What type of business do they do. Have they been in the news lately? You don't have to be a walking encyclopedia on the company, but know a few key facts and drop them in at the appropriate time.

That's all i can think of off the top of my head. Good luck

Job Interview Questions: What kind of clothes should i wear for a job interview at a rock climbing gym?

i have an interview for a regular employee position at a rock climbing gym so what should i wear? i don't want to be too formal, or too lax, but its a climbing gym right? this is minimum wage job position any ideas?

What to Do Before, During and After a Job Interview

        Recommended Answer:
Like all job interviews - somewhat dressy. I wouldn't recommend a suit/tie or power suit, but a pair of slacks/skirt and a button up shirt/blouse would be good. Probably comfortable, practical shoes (not heels, etc.).
Do not wear what you would climbing...save that for the job (if that's the dress code for employees).

        Job Interview Essentials

        • Obviously those who said be dressy never been to a climbing gym before or have realized how laid back it is. First off if you walk into a climbing gym wearing a suit blouse they`re probably going think you know nothing about climbing. It`ll lead them to believe that you`re too strict or dont know what climbing is about. I`d show up in a pair of decent jeans and a t shirt or nice shirt. Dont get your hair all done and dont wear tons of makeup. I`d also bring a gym bag along with clothes that you can climb in, this way you can change after the interview and climb in the gym. It`ll show that you really enjoy climbing and climb any chance you get.

After the interview ask the person interviewing you if there is a place you can change because you want to climb

        • I always make it a point to be somewhat dressy for any interview, regardless of the job type. You should just wear black or gray dress pants, a nice button down and dressy flats. It shows that youre not trying to over-do it, but that you are professional.

        • Wear what you'd like to work in if it could pass for new and smells fresh.
In my case that would be black synthetic body stocking leaving feet, hands
and neck upwards exposed. I prefer to climb wearing black boots, helmet
          and don't use chalk.

        • I would say jeans, a nice blouse, good shoes (not worn), and do your makeup well (I suggest doing it pretty nude). The jeans make it less formal, but you look like you care.

        • i would say NICE yoga style pants, a nice shirt/blouse, casual flats/nice shoes ( nice fancy workout gear)

        • climbing boots and a bowline.

Job Interview Questions: What to wear for a UPS job interview?

Hello. I need some advice. I have a job interview tomorrow morning for "drivers helper". And it says "Candidate is required to wear Work Boot or work shoe". What about top attire. What should I wear. I was thinking a button down shirt with black slacks. Is that to much for the position I'm applying for. And what kind of questions am I expected to e ask? any help would be nice.

I think you should wear nice slacks and a button down shirt and nothing less. This is a job interview and you should dress to impress. I believe the note on work boots was meant for after you get hired, so be prepared to purchase them if you don't have any.
Since this is a helper position, you may want to ask if it is a seasonal job. It sounds like it to me. UPS gets overloaded during the holidays. If it is, ask what the chances are of you staying on after the holidays. Other questions you may want to ask are about hours, pay, benefits, overtime and training.
That's all I can think of at the moment. Hope it helps. GOOD LUCK!

The purpose of that question is to get you to talk about how you could benefit the company and/or department that you would be working in. Before your interview, make sure that you know a thing or two about the company. Then, think about how your skills, education, and experience could benefit the company.

For example, if you are interviewing for an IT position, talk about your education, certifications (A+, MCSE, CCNA, etc.), and your specialties. If it is a customer service job, talk about any previous customer service experience you have, accomplishments, recognitions, etc.

Job Interview Questions: What should I wear to my job interview?

I've got a job interview tomorrow and was just wondering what type of clothes would be appropriate to wear? The job is at Walmart, so I'm not thinking anything too fancy, but I'm not sure. I was thinking khaki pants and a polo shirt, but I'm not entirely sure. My only job interviews before have been for landscaping companies, so I've always just worn jeans and a t-shirt, which is obviously not appropriate here. Anyway, any help is appreciated.

          Recommended Answer:
Better to dress up too much than to be too dressed down... Pressed khakis and a button-down, collared shirt (tucked in and belted) would probably be "ok". The polo shirt might be too informal. If you have dress pants, dress shirt, and a tie go with that. Yeah, it's overkill, but that's an asset not an issue.

Job Interview Training For Managers - Will's Story

          • Wear work clothes. A suit, or whatever you wear to an interview normally. That is absolutely standard advice for anyone interviewing "in-house". You are on equal footing with all the other candidates -- you must be as smart as they are -- be held to the same standards of professionalism. You can't assume an air of familiarity with company casual Friday policy just because you work there. Remember to behave all throughout the interview just as you would as if you were interviewing at another company. Being a local candidate confers neither benefits nor disadvantages. They can't treat you any better than anyone else, but equally they must take you as seriously. And to do that, you must present as seriously. So wear a suit. I would wear nice pants and a nice top, then keep the jacket separately and don it for the interview. Best of luck!

          • You know if I were you, I would wear black pants, white classic shirt and a black vest on top.
