Job Interview Questions: I have a job interview for a nanny job tomorrow....?

I really want this job. It is not only to take care of kids but to assist their mother with things such as paying bills and running errands. Aside from talking about my experience with kids, my being CPR and First Aid Certified, and my clean record, can anyone offer me any tips to possibly help with me getting this job? It's good paying and I'm really looking forward to my interview!

Job Interviewing Skills: Making The Small Differences Count!

Recommended Answer:
Try to hit it off with the mom. She doesn't want someone she doesn't get along with around her kids and acting as her personal assistant. You sound friendly, so play that up. Professional is good in terms of being reliable, but you also need to show a warmer, more emotional side that will help you connect with the kids. You're being hired to be an assistant mother. Act maternal.

Job Interview Skills: Upgrade Your Performance!

  • Talk about your hobbies, especially ones in which you could include the children. For instance, tell them you enjoy going to the beach or park to play ball, or that you take frequent trips to the library. If your hobbies are limited to watching TV and playing video games, I'd omit that. Good luck!

  • If you have a previous positive work history I would talk about that and what your long term life goals are, show you have ambition

  • Take references with you- preferrably not from family members- that you've worked for.
Dress professionally. You don't need a business suit, but you don't want to show up in jeans and a t shirt either. Be conservative in your dress.
Be upfront and honest in answering questions.
Be positive and if the kids are there greet them. Ask their names and show interest.

Job Interview Questions: I have a job interview right after school. Would taking my backpack and books be unacceptable?

I have an interview at a little restaurant right next to my school. It is literally a 20 second walk. so I figured instead of having my parents pick me up and drive me (which would be pointless), I'd just walk over. But would taking my backpack and books be totally unprofessional? Or would they understand because I'm a high school student? Thanks for any input

Job Interview Strategies That Work - Create Your Perfect Interview Movie

Recommended Answer:
I think if you could arrange to leave your backpack and books somewhere else while you interview that it would be a great idea. I know you are a high school student, but the job market is tough, so anything that can help you look more professional and mature will help. But if it can't be avoided, then it can't be avoided.

I'm from Florida, but I have a job interview in the north. I know it'll be cold and possibly snowing, but since I was born and raised here, I have no clue what to wear!

        Are heels ok?

Secrets to Answering Job Interview Questions About Your Weaknesses

        • Try a nice blouse and either a skirt or dress pants. Go light on the makeup and perfume. Be conservative on the jewelry and wear a watch if you have one. Finish your look with skin tone or tan pantyhose. The hose will give you a professional look and keep you warmer. For shoes, try a low heeled pump. If it is raining or snowing, use galoshes to protect your good shoes.

          Good luck in your interview.

        • I don't think it's a good idea to wear heels in the snow unless you want to slip and fall. Stick with some slacks/dress pants and wear thermals underneath. Wear thermals under your shirt too and layer it. You can wear a sweater and maybe a wool coat until you get there and take it off.

        • dress slacks heels if it is snowing i would put snow boots/tennis shoes on then when you get to the interveiw then i would put the heels on if you want to if you want to good for the interveiw and deffently dont FOR GET THE COAT,GLOVES,HAT

        • A nice pair of business slacks with a nice sophisticated wool/cotton coat and a scarf with a collar shirt or a business suit.

        • a condom..

Job Interview Questions: What to do and not to do at a job interview?

so i have my first job interview for the store aeropstale and im just wondering what i should do and shouldnt. how should i dress? im a guy

Job Interviews - Six Blunders to Avoid

        Recommended Answer:
The rule of thumb is to dress at least one level above the one you're applying for, so in your case, I'd say slacks, dress shirt or polo, leather shoes, everything clean and pressed. No cologne or strong deodorant, limited jewelry, especially piercings.

All the normal job interview good ideas apply: smile frequently, make solid eye contact, and have a firm, dry handshake. I assume it's a customer service position you're applying for, so the smile may be the most important as it shows confidence and a positive attitude. I've gotten several jobs by following my mom's advice and being nice to everyone I meet on a job interview and making a point to thank everyone you come in contact with, even secretaries and receptionists because they are the people that bosses go to get opinions on potential new employees.

A note about interview questions: never say anything negative about anything and use every question as an opportunity to show them your strong suits. If they ask you if you have any faults, and I'm pretty sure you're like the rest of us and have a few, always have an answer ready that is actually a positive, like, "I sometimes expect others to care as much about doing a good job as I do." Something that is true for you and applies to a store like Aerospitale. You can find a lot of sample interview questions at Monster, www.monster.com along with excellent articles that cover all aspects of the job search.

Have good posture, don't put anything on the desk or table without asking, don't fidget, and if you don't know the answer to something, don't go ramble off on a tangent. Keep your responses brief, to the point, but thorough.

The main thing is to try to relax, because you've already done the hard part, which is getting the interview. Now you just have to show them how great you'd be in their store. It's the one time that bragging is not only acceptable, it's almost required. Don't forget to smile.

        • I am not familiar with aeropstale. Depending on what the store is like will depend on how you should dress. On top of that, never dress too casual. Always look somewhat nice and presentable. besides that, just be calm and positive towards yourself when answering questions.

        • wear casual but nice clothes. dont wear tennis shoes. be shaved and groomed. try to anticipate questions and have a ready answer for the interviewer. try to be relaxed and project confidence.

        • don't wear aeropostale clothing or you'll look like a suck up

Job Interview Questions: Should I call Starbucks for a job interview after I applied for them?

I applied for Starbucks online like 5 minutes ago and I read through some yahooanswers and found out alot of people don't get calls for interviews and they personally have to call them themselves. So I was wondering if I should call them tomorrow for a job interview or should I just wait.

Countdown to Job Interview? Know What to Expect and Launch Your New Career

        Recommended Answer:
Neither - you should go into the Starbucks and introduce yourself to the manager and tell him/her that you applied and you just wanted to stop by, introduce yourself and see if there were any other questions you could answer. Remember to dress neatly, shake hands and leave your cell phone either in the car or at home.

If you call, you are probably not going to get an interview anyway (the answer you will get is that they will keep you in mind if they have any openings).

          Recommended Answer:
I would NOT wear jeans of any kind to an interview for a Medical Assistant position! Wear dress pants with a nice blouse. Even thought it's 2010, there is still a certain level of professionalism for an interview in the medical field.

Secret Career Document - The Nine Magic Job Interview Hints (Get Hired Fast)!

          • I would not wear jeans to an interview. You do not have to wear dressy pants, but wear either nice pants with a blouse and a blazer or jacket. You can wear a skirt with a nice top and jacket, as long as the skirt is not too short. It is important that you feel professional, yet comfortable, on an interview.

          • Good morning!

Dress neatly and conservatively. You want to project the best possible image of yourself, so plan and prepare a neat, businesslike outfit. You can't go wrong with a business suit. Even if the company has explicitly stated that it's a “business casual” workplace, stick with the suit. An interview is not the time to express your unique fashion sense; it's the time to show you know when it's time to follow the rules and traditions of business.

            Good luck :-)

          • Many people get stuck when they are attempting to settle what to wear at an interview. Personally I'm from the old school, I contend that formal wear is never wrong; you can get some instruction from the resource in the box below, they also have a lot of advice on job seeking.

          • Please do not wear any type of jeans to a job interview. Business casual should do. Pants and blouse.
            good luck

          • i usually wear a tube top in the summer with hot pants that are a bright color like pink and in the winter I like sweatshirts and boots. Jeans tho, never sweat pants.

          • skinny jeans with a professional blouse sounds great. I would avoid wearing really really bright colors...where something with a little color like royal blue or dark red. good luck with the interview :)
