Job Interviews - Six Blunders to Avoid

Recommended Answer:
DO: Do dress apropriatley, business casual. DO bring a resume, at least two copies. Be yourself, R.E.L.A.X!!!! i cant stress how important it is to RELAX.Remember, you are NOT there for an interrogation, there is really no right or wrong thing to say. Just dont use swear words. And dont degrade yourself infront of them like "Omg yeah I always put things off to last minute" thats a big no no
DONT: Dont fidget. Dont arrive late. Dont chew gum. Dont frown, but SMILE. Dont look nervous. Job interviews are nerve racking. its even more nerve racking when your sitting down worrying about it. Remember, breath, relax, and let the interviewer see the real you!

Some of the Toughest Job Interview Questions and Their Model Answers

  • DO: be polite, friendly, outgoing, dress nicely, seem interested, and don't get offended if the person says something you don't completely agree with.

DON'T: stick out your boobs and butt, make jokes, laugh out loud, burp or make icky noises, dress like a slob, have bad breath, look messy, talk with improper grammer, come un prepared, and common sense should tell you the rest.

    GOOD LUCK!
    ~Hope that helps~

  • 1. 10 seconds to sell or say so long - Unless your resume catches the interviewer's eye in 10 seconds it's over, you're done.

    2. Be on time - There is no excuse for it, none!

    3. Cell phone off - Obvious but easily forgotten

    8. Profiles to private - If you don't think interviewers Google you or look you up on Facebook or MySpace, you're crazy.

    10. Don't babble - When answering a question, answer the question.

    11. Don't badmouth a boss - Bad mouthing a previous boss in a job interview is a huge negative.

    12. Don't flirt with the interviewer - Common sense but needs to be stated.

  • Before you arrive, you should know your resume inside out and practice answering the questions that recruiters usually ask. You must also relax, make eye contact, give brief but adequate responses and let the interviewer do most of the talking. I have written articles on business and getting a job. Job Interview Questions: Typical job interview questions?

What are some questions that an interviewer asked you in a job interview. They can be random questions like if you were any type of plant, what type would you want to be? They can also be any typical question like an ice breaker question. It would help to know your answers too but it's not as important as the question itself.
Thanks

Questions For Job Interview Situations - Overcoming the Fear

Recommended Answer:
Here are some typical ones that were asked me:

What are your strengths and weaknesses? [Answers are subjective and various.]
How would you contribute to the betterment of the company? [Answers vary and depend on what kind of company you apply to.]
How would you define/describe a "bad boss"? [Don't focus on the bad. Mention some things but try to redirect it positively.]

Some companies will ask completely different and sometimes obscure/crazy questions! For instance, Zappos may ask you to describe your own personal "weirdness." (Went over that in our business class.)

Job Interviewing Tips

  • what special skills can you bring to the position

  • They usually ask "Why would you like to work here" or
Why do you think you would be a good fit for us? That's when you learn about their company so you can say something meaningful that will impress them, the fact that you took the time to do some research on their company.

Job Interview Questions: If you go for a job interview and your not hired..?

If you go to a job interview and your not hired, are they supposed to let you know if you don't get the job or do you have to call them? One more question, how is the person interviewing you should be dressed if it's "casual friday" Mine was in a Dave Matthews T-Shirt and ripped jeans..for a Law Office!! Is that proper??

How to Ace Your Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
No, they do not have to tell you if you got the job or not. If they want you they will contact you. It doesnt hurt to call the company back in say 2 weeks if you havent heard anything. They may say sorry its been filled or maybe, they havent made any decisions yet.

The person doing the interviewing can wear anything they want, you on the other hand should dress for success.

Tips to Ace Your Insurance Job Interview

  • 1st off i think they don't HAVE to let you know but it is polite to do so. also the dress code depends on the office i'm sure being casual friday or not if they had to go to court or meet a client that day they would be a little better dressed but around the office its up to office management if that's TOO casual or not.

  • Some companies let you know by phone, letter or email. Many don't.

Ripped jeans and a t-shirt sound overly casual for casual Friday, especially for someone who will be interviewing someone or having other contact with someone from outside the firm.

  • proper or not he has a job and you do not. Most companies will give you a courtesy call letting you know they hired someone else

  • try this site (i've used it): topfin3.notlong.com/2AAexXs

  • My experience has been this: During the interview, towards the end, they will normally say we will make a decision in (X) days. If they don't mention that, I try to ask, so that I can know when to expect a call. It also lets me know that if I didn't get a call by around that time, that I didn't get to job which keep me from having to make the embarrassing phone call in which they tell me I was not chosen. I also try to ask them to let me know either way, and make it seem as though I am expecting other offers form other companies. If you seem like a hot commodity, they will wonder why you are so hot, and potentially become more eager to hire you so that they can find out. I also make sure to mail a thank you letter as soon as I am home. I mail it out that day and reitterate my interest in the position, I make it very pointed towards what we talked about in the interview, and highlight not me specifically but how my skills can apply to specific things mentioned in the interview(i.e. My powerpoint skills will allow me to create new and professional sales presentations to help your sales team close more sales).
Being that the interview is already over with, and you can't ask them in person, I would say make the call. When you call, make sure to speak directly with the person who did the interview. I would not leave a VM, becasue you might not get a callback and you will still be wondering. Plus if you do leave a VM, then its business etiquette to wait a day or more before trying again. So that means more waiting for you. If you try to reach him for three days in a row and can not catch him, then leave a VM, but also shoot him an email(if you can) telling him you left a VM and that would like to know if a hiring decsion has been made. That way, if he doesn't want to be the bearer of bad news on the phone, he can at least respond via email if you are not the candidate that was selected.
In this economy, I am sure they get these calls often, becasue so many people are looking for a job.

As far as his outfit is concerned, if that is acceptable by the company, then it is what it is. I agree that it was not appropriate, especcially since he was interviewing someone and making an impression of the company, however, if his company says its ok, then there is nmothing that can be said about it.

Job Interview: Are You Sending Red Flags And Eliminating Yourself?

  • When you get there, it will come to you. I can't really tell you what to say, because I don't know what the interviewer will say. As for behavior? First thing you should do right when meeting the interviewer is to firmly shake their hand. Not enough people do that when first meeting them. Next is come in there with a smile on your face, it should be warm and inviting. Make sure your posture isn't all slouched. Sit up straight, place your hands on your lap. Make sure to be a bit talkative so they wont think you're a shy person. Try to make them laugh every so often! You want to be remembered, you want to stand out!

  • just make sure you can sell your self as best as possible and do a little research into the job you are applying for so you can give them good reasons as to why you want the job, the main tip to job interviews is confidence, make them think you are totally up for the job. use open body language never fold your arms. be friendly and honest, good luck :)

  • They want to know if you are good employee and can help the company. You need to convince them of that.

Job Interview Questions: Job interview at Mcdonalds tomorrow?

I already have a proper attire for the interview, but I'm a little nervous because I don't have a resume or any letters of recommendation or anything. The only job experience I have is when I was volunteering at my schools bistro which was run by my culinary arts class which is why I don't feel like I should make a resume. Should I bring a portfolio with anything in it other then a resume? Any other tips are appreciated, thanks.

For McDonalds you don't need a resume or letters of rec. You'd look kinda silly bringing those in. Maybe it's different at every establishment, but at my McDonalds, I got the impression that if you got called for an interview, you got the job (unless you acted like a jerk).
