Job Interview Questions: Beard or no beard for DBA job interview?

My husband has interview for a DBA with a state college - he wants to know if he should shave his beard and look younger, leave it as is, or shave it into a goatee. Any ideas?

Recommended Answer:
Depends on what the beard looks like now - is it full and decent looking or lacking in areas ?? That would be my personal deciding factor

How to Get Your Dream Job - The 3 Step Job Interview Process

  • its best to shave it cuz personally i think beards(the long lumberjack kind) are just . . .not neat? the 5 o clock is ok. but during an interview, the employer pretty much examines not just the interview but your husbands attire, appearance, hygiene, etc.

  • Goatee look strong if they are tight.

I'm applying at a company where my Mom currently works. There's a chance that we may even be working in the same facility. Should I mention this during the interview? Will it work for me (reliable transportation even in emergencies/good idea of the job and what to expect, etc.) or against me?

Job Interview Questions: How should I dress for a job interview?

I'm 17 years, and I have a job interiew tomorrow.
I was wondering, if I should just dress casual or wear a shirt and tie?

Job Interview Tip Number 1 is Preparation

        Recommended Answer:
It really depends on the job you're looking for.
In my experience and my friend's experience if you wear something that you'd never ever wear during the job your boss may get a little miffed because you were just putting on a facade during the interview.
If you're going for a desk job and would wear nice clothes definitely a nice shirt and probably some khakis. A tie may be too much but really use your own judgement. You can always bring the tie with you and when you get there if you're feeling it put it on the bathroom before you go in.
If you're interviewing for something more casual like a video store or a market or book store (etc.) you don't have to dress up so much. Just probably nothing that you think would scare off the boss.
If you know the boss it'd be good to figure out of they'd be intrigued by things like cool jewelry and stuff or intimidated and put off.
If all else fails just remember - you want to be yourself but present the best version of yourself. But don't raise the bar too high and give yourself room to get better. :)
        Good luck!

        Job Interview Preparation

        • it depends what type of job. if its a job in food like starbucks then you can dress more casual. if it is a big job like an assistant or more business like, you dress differently. you can always wear a black pencil skirt and a blouse. its better to wear darker colors to look more professional. make sure no tattoos are showing if you have any and dont wear to much jewelry. for shoes you can wear either flats or heals. dont wear sneakers or slippers.

Tips to Ace Your Insurance Job Interview

        Recommended Answer:
Remain calm, maintain eye contact with the interviewer. Ask thoughtful questions and at the end, ask him/her when they would expect to make a decision. In that way, you'll know when you can start. Plus, it will look like you want the job to the interviewer.

        Good luck!

Nervous About an Upcoming Job Interview? Just Focus on the Three Interview Objectives

        • WHEN U GO TO INTERVIEW JUST COOLMIND
DONT ACT TO BE OVERSMART .AND UR DRESS.

        • don't wear cologne. Make good eye contact. If the interviewer drops something, pick it up. Show up 5 min early. Wear brown or khaki. Be ver cordial to everyone in the establishment as he/she may be observing your interactions with others. Avoid religion and politics.

        • Walk in with confidence (in your dress, your walk, your talk and your posture). A firm handshake with your introduction. Sit straight, do not fold your arms, play with your hands or bounce your foot. Don' fidget. If you have questions you save them for the end. Let the interviewing person interview.

        • Make eye contact, but don't stare too long....you don't want to intimidate the interviewer...

Strong handshake, but again, don't crush his/her hand. And give your hands a quick wipe before you go in, in case you're nervous and they're sweaty.

Don't fidget, and don't bouce your legs or anything like that....show you're confident and relaxed. Don't slouch...And get a good night sleep, and be awake for a while before you go in....yawning is a big negative in an interview....shows you're not interested, or not reliable enough to come in fresh and at your best.

Show up 5-10 minutes early, but no earlier than 15 minutes early....any earlier than that, and it shows you don't respect their schedule. They gave you a set time to come in, so come in at the right time...but if they say 8am....don't show up at 8am either...or def not at 8:05

        • You are clearly an articulate and intelligent chap, i think you will be just fine:)

Job Interview Questions: Will they ask about criminal convictions during my job interview?

So I have a job interview next week for my first "real" job outside of college. However, I'm worried about my DUI from when I was 18. During an interview, do they ask if you have any criminal convictions? Since I'm a nice looking, well dressed girl....will they just never assume I have a criminal past? I mean, it's not like I have tattoos or nose piercings that would scream "criminal"

          What do you think?

10 Job Interview Mistakes to Avoid

          Recommended Answer:
You don't really need to as you say "look like a criminal" It is usually common for a job to ask about criminal history on your application and will probably ask you again in the interview as well. I would just disclose it. Because when they do your background check and find out that you didn't disclose it, the reason you don't get the job is because you lied.

Ten Tips For a Successful Job Interview

          • They don't care what you look like.

If they ask people about criminal convictions for that job, they will ask everybody. You will probably be okay if the job does not involve driving; most jobs are only concerned about felony convictions anyway.

If they ask you, be honest about what happened; they may also do a background check on you.

          • Of course they are going to ask. It is better to have a full tattooed bodysuit than a criminal record when applying for any job.

          • They might. They might just run a background check without even asking you directly.

          • Idiot

How to Shine in Audit Jobs Interviews

          Recommended Answer:
In a job interview, the employer meets you for the first time and asks you questions which you have to answer as best as you can verbally. For example perhaps you should focus and prepare for the toughest interview questions like these for example. There will be at least one of these questions that will be asked in an interview.

          1) Why do you want to work for us and how did you hear about us?
          2) Do you have any previous experience?
          3) If there is a problem, how would you handle it?
          4) Describe yourself?
          5) What makes you stand out and why should we pick you?

Job Interview Questions: When to call and what to say in follow up phone call after job interview?

I went to a job interview last Friday (exactly one week ago). It went well in my opinion. He asked me some questions which I answered well, gave me a tour of the place and seemed to be pleased with my experiences. He said they were "going to be interviewing all week" then doing a second round of interviews. I sent a thank you email the next day. Is it too early to call back for a follow up phone call? And what should I even say?!?

            Job Interview Anxiety

            Recommended Answer:
Interviews are always the first place to make a good impression. You should call back after the weekend. Then simply ask have they made a decision on the people they wish to interview again. If its not you you should bold ask was there anything that didn't impress them not to invite you back again. That way you will exactly what they where looking for and what to improve on for your next interview.

            I hope it goes well.
