Job Interview Questions: How should I dress for a job interview?

I'm 17 years, and I have a job interiew tomorrow.
I was wondering, if I should just dress casual or wear a shirt and tie?

Job Interview Tip Number 1 is Preparation

Recommended Answer:
It really depends on the job you're looking for.
In my experience and my friend's experience if you wear something that you'd never ever wear during the job your boss may get a little miffed because you were just putting on a facade during the interview.
If you're going for a desk job and would wear nice clothes definitely a nice shirt and probably some khakis. A tie may be too much but really use your own judgement. You can always bring the tie with you and when you get there if you're feeling it put it on the bathroom before you go in.
If you're interviewing for something more casual like a video store or a market or book store (etc.) you don't have to dress up so much. Just probably nothing that you think would scare off the boss.
If you know the boss it'd be good to figure out of they'd be intrigued by things like cool jewelry and stuff or intimidated and put off.
If all else fails just remember - you want to be yourself but present the best version of yourself. But don't raise the bar too high and give yourself room to get better. :)
Good luck!

Job Interview Preparation

  • it depends what type of job. if its a job in food like starbucks then you can dress more casual. if it is a big job like an assistant or more business like, you dress differently. you can always wear a black pencil skirt and a blouse. its better to wear darker colors to look more professional. make sure no tattoos are showing if you have any and dont wear to much jewelry. for shoes you can wear either flats or heals. dont wear sneakers or slippers.
