Job Interview Preparation: The Key To Getting The Job Offer!

    • Sounds cliched, to me.

Also, I'm anti-thank you note. As you commented in your sentences above, it's mutually beneficial. They have work that needs to be done and you're capable of the work. Everyone wins, no thank yous necessary.

If you insist on the obsequious, try something like, "I just wanted to write and say how much I enjoyed talking with you on Monday. If there is anything else you need from me please don't hesitate to ask."

    • Yes, that is perfect. Simple, short, but covering everything. Love it(:

    • Yes. It's simple, short, and polite.

    • Yes i think so.

Job Interview Questions: What types of questions should I expect for my first job interview...?

I have an interview tonight at what would be my first job. I'm not really that nervous but I want to be somewhat prepared as to what types of questions will be asked. Thanks for the help.

The Importance of Great Job Interview Answers

    Recommended Answer:
They have interview questions on the internet so you could look some up. Why are you interested in working here?, Do you eat here? What do you expect as a customer? What hours/days can you work? Do you understand the dress code? (It helps if you can show your personality, but don't over do that. Let them know you have a sense of humor, but don't be too friendly/familiar, it would show lack of respect) Look them in the eye, firm hand shake. If you don't understand a question ask them to give you an example of what they are asking. Most places use general questions, but they can often have different meanings. The thing you need to understand about customer service is that the customer could have had a problem long before they entered the facility, and the slightest thing you did or said could have set them off. So while it is important to try and do anything you can to please and keep your customers, it is also important to realize that there are a lot of people scamming businesses these days. There is a fine line between, "What can I do to keep you as my customer?" and knowing what customers are harmful or not wanted in your facility, and are just there to scam your company. Just try and do the best you can, we all think of better answers when we get home. When you leave, shake the persons hand and thank them and try to remember their name and use the name when you thank them. Good luck

Oil Rigs Employment - Some Facts About the Oil Rig Job Interview

    • It really depends on where you're interviewing at. Since it's your first job, I'm guessing its just a summer job type thing? The people that interview you for those type of jobs usually are inexperienced at giving interviews, and will ask pretty standard questions. Two that you should definitely have prepared are: What are your greatest strengths/weakness and Tell me about yourself. Good luck!

    • For your first job they might ask things like:
      >Why are you interested in working here?
      >Name some good experiences you've had in the past at similar businesses and what made them good?
      >What do you like most about our store?
      >What experience do you have that would help you to do well here? (use school or extracurricular experience since this is your first job)
      >What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Don't be too fake and say too much that you don't mean, because they can tell. But if you exaggerate a little without completely lying you will be fine.

Job Interview Questions: How to dress for this job interview?

I am interviewing with a staffing agency for a factory-type job. So this first interview will be with the agency, not the factory. I don't need a suit do I? It's a low-paying dirty job but the interview will be in a clean office.

Tips For Job Interviews - Information You Need to Know

    Recommended Answer:
If it's an office environment where the interview will take place, dress for an office environment. Even if it's not a suit, go for dress slacks, a blouse and a dressy sweater. You want to appear serious about the job. Also, if this job doesn't come to pass, you want to be dressed to show you can fit in in any environment, not just a factory.

Edit - if you are a guy, dress slacks, dress shirt and tie are appropriate.

    • I would go along in smart casual. Can't go wrong then. Make it look like you can put the effort in, but as you say, a suit probably isn't necessary. It would just be going too far.

    • Just put on an pair of clean jeans and a nice tshirt.
Ops, and off course do not forget the shoes.

    • For the type of interview you're describing: No suit, nice pants (not jeans), button down shirt (no tie) everything clean and pressed. Hair and body clean as well.

yes, they can tell what sex the person is by pee, but not age or anything. It might show up depending on how much you smoke. One time smoking will probably flush out of your system quickly but if you smoke alot it will stick around for up to around a month. I would drink alot of water. Alot alot. and work out, try and sweat. See what happens i guess. Or get a home piss test and see if it shows up .

Job Interview Questions: Second job interview for target!?

ok so i applied at target and got a job interview. i went in for the interview today and nailed it, they said they wanted to hire me after the first 3 questions and they really really liked me. they said they couldnt actually offer me the job today because its saturday and will call me monday to offer it to me. after i left target today they called me and asked me to come in for a second interview on monday. so my question is.....

If they said they wanted to hire me and they said i was hired then why would they do a second interview? what is the second interview for? is it just for the process to get me hired? signing paper work and drug test and check my availability? please tell me what the second interview is about? i know i probably got the job but i just want to make sure.

Job Interview Basics - How to Sell Yourself

      Recommended Answer:
I work at Target. All potential employees are required to go through 2 different interviews with 2 different people. The second one is the one where they go over your availability, sometimes asking some more questions like in your first interview, they then can offer you a conditional job offer where they tell you the position and how much you will make. All you gotta do then is take a drug test within 24 hours and wait for the results. Usually takes less then a week, mines took 3 days. After they see you are clean, you will be emailed, then called to confirm a date and time to go to an orientation.
During orientation, you fill out all the paperwork, you watch like 3 hours of videos on policies, situations, etc then you get a quick tour of the store. You also get paid for orientation too, it will show up on your paycheck. After you do orientation, you get a training schedule the same day that tells you when to show up to work for the next 2 weeks. This schedule is going to have minimal hours, mines was 18.5 hours the first two weeks. During these two weeks you get trained the first day, and basically work on your own after. After your 2 weeks, you get a name badge, discount card, and you get more hours. Usually 15-25 a week depending on performance.

I applied at Target online on a thursday, 3 days later got called for a interview the next day, did the interview and got a job offer the same day, same day as my interview I went for a drug test and 3 days later I got a call saying to come to orientation the following Monday. Took me a little over a week to apply, interview, test, and do orientation.

Tips on Acing the Job Interview - 4 Important Things to Consider Before the Interview

      • Signing paper work, giving the drug test, and checking your availability is most likely all they want to do to seal the deal. I was given my drug test on the second interview also at Kroger.

Quick question: How did you get the interview? Did you call and talk to the hiring manager? How long did they/you called between the time you put in the application? Also, what questions did they ask you on the interview? I've been trying to get a job at Target for a while. Thanks

Why Being Interviewed First Can Mean "Last" in a Job Interview

      Recommended Answer:
You don't say how smoking is relevant to the job interview process. Under a democratic government, a company is allowed to operate its recruitment procedures in any way it chooses. Only a dictatorship would impose laws restricting companies in this way

Preparing For a Job Interview - Minimize Job Interview Stress

      • There is no law that you can change regarding an interview process.
Its up to the potential employer to set its own process to ensure that they get the right person for the job. Some are better at it than others but your right some are ridiculous.
The only thing you can do is write to the employer afterwards and state what you think they can do better.
