Job Interview Questions: How to dress for this job interview?

I am interviewing with a staffing agency for a factory-type job. So this first interview will be with the agency, not the factory. I don't need a suit do I? It's a low-paying dirty job but the interview will be in a clean office.

Tips For Job Interviews - Information You Need to Know

Recommended Answer:
If it's an office environment where the interview will take place, dress for an office environment. Even if it's not a suit, go for dress slacks, a blouse and a dressy sweater. You want to appear serious about the job. Also, if this job doesn't come to pass, you want to be dressed to show you can fit in in any environment, not just a factory.

Edit - if you are a guy, dress slacks, dress shirt and tie are appropriate.

Top 9 Job Interview Questions - Home Run Answers

  • I would go along in smart casual. Can't go wrong then. Make it look like you can put the effort in, but as you say, a suit probably isn't necessary. It would just be going too far.

  • Just put on an pair of clean jeans and a nice tshirt.
Ops, and off course do not forget the shoes.

  • For the type of interview you're describing: No suit, nice pants (not jeans), button down shirt (no tie) everything clean and pressed. Hair and body clean as well.
