Job Interview Questions: Is it a bad idea to wear black skinny leg jeans to a job interview at a dog groomers?

of coarse this job will be messy and less informal. so would it be okay to wear black jeans with flats a nice t shirt with a fitted blazor???

Job Interview Tips - First Impressions Count and Appearance Is a Big Part of the Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
yeah, that sounds good! :) of course, it is a dog groomers, it's not an interview for something very major. the black jeans and flats sound nice, maybe a dressier top (like a blouse, something casual but pretty), the blazer might be a little much, but really, it's completely up to you!

Job Interview Questions: First job interview tomorrow. any tips?

I've never had a job interview before and ive got one tomorrow and have no idea what to do. any good tips?

Job Interviews - Six Tips to Prepare You

Recommended Answer:
be yourself and sale yourself at what your good at (don't lie).

Job Interview Advice Everyone Can Use

  • firm handshake
    dress conservatively and well
look the interviewer in the eye
know a little something about the place you would be working at
When the interviewer starts talking agree with what the interviewer has to say. If they talk about someone who didn't make it before you because they were late for work often agree with them and say something like, "That is completely unexcusable because that sort of behavior makes work difficult for everyone on the team who was counting on that person to at least make the minimal effort of showing up on time. I can't believe that someone would actually do that."
    Be very polite and smile
    Listen as well as talk
Think about the kind of person who they would want for that job and speak in a way that would have you come across as such.
Don't cross your arms or have such other body language that would be off putting like playing with hair or a button
Speak the part, a mechanic's interview is different from a medical services customer service rep.
    Develop a believable English accent

  • first, know a little bit about the company. go online and find out what they do. a candidate who knows nothing about the company likely isn't going to get hired. preparation and having good questions to ask is key. it shows you've done your homework.

second, most companies are looking for long-term employees, not job hoppers. when they ask you about your future plans or what you see yourself doing some number of years down the road, they want to hear you want to stay and grow with that company. say it and mean it.

third, be sure to make good eye contact and speak clearly. answer questions with detail. no one word answers, but don't go on and on either. when appropriate, ask them questions before they ask you if you have any questions. in other words, be sure and confident in yourself. even if you are really nervous and feel like you're going to pee your pants, appear confident and like you mean business. and on that note, make sure you go to the bathroom before you arrive at the place of your interview. again, all in being prepared

Laid back and stylish... Why would a girl in a fancy suit get the job at CONVERSE maybe the jewlery store but for sure not converse!

How to Handle Skilled Job Interviewers & Behavioral Interview Questions

  • I would suggest something stylish. I would be very surprised if anyone there had on a suit. I wouldn't where jeans but I a 3 piece suit is not the answer. keep the accessories simply and maybe 1 piece from their collection. Target sells the brand. Try fitted pants and a button down. a cute cardigan and wide leg pants. a simple dress or pencil shirt and top.

  • Something like this ? Something simple !

  • Wear Converse!

Job Interview Questions: Following up after a job interview?

I had a job interview and it seemed to go well, and the manager who interviewed me said that things move quickly, but shortly afterward said that he would follow up within a couple weeks. I did not understand this, and I wonder if the manager did not understand it, either. I sent a thank you letter immediately afterward, but it did not reference following up.

Should I follow up with him or HR a few days or a week after the interview if I don't hear back?

      • it's an ok job for a homemaker. not steady work. very busy quarterly and at the end of the year.
my team was part of an office 90'' away. the office 60'' away did most of the jobs in my city, while I was expected to travel over 2 hrs past the my office. this made for 4-5 hrs driving each way plus doing an all day department store inventory(12-14 hrs). good luck
p.s. my team was all women and my fiance/wife ended up working with/for me, as she thought I was having too good of a time on the job. lol

Job Interview Questions: Do I need a resume for a job interview under this circumstance?

Tomorrow I have a job interview at a cupcake shop. I've never had a job before and I'm uncertain as to whether or not I'd need a resume in a situation such as this or if they'll just ask me questions about my experience/myself.

      Any help is appreciated.

Additionally, what sort of clothing is considered appropriate for an interview at a job like this? I know the business look is always good for other jobs but something like this... what's appropriate and what isn't?

      Thank you!

It's best to bring a resume with you so that they'll have more information about you. It's best to wear professional clothes to an interview, even if the attire you would wear during employment is much more casual. Something fitting for an office environment, so dress slacks, dress shoes, a nice blouse, tasteful jewelry, clean, neat hair and general clean and tidy appearanceIf you need additional help for things like writing a resume or job searching, there are tutorials for that as well: www.gcflearnfree.org/career

      5 Types of Job Interviews

      • As for the resume, if you have one, bring it, no matter how trivial or casual the job may seem. Even if they don't care to see it, it doesn't hurt.

As for clothing, a general rule of thumb is to always dress at or one step above the person who will be interviewing you. If you suspect the interviewer will be wearing ripped jeans and a batter-stained t-shirt, then khakis and a casual shirt should suffice. If, on the other hand, you have noticed that the staff dresses casually but clean and kept, you would be ok to go with slacks or a casual skirt.

      • It depends. If you have volunteer experience, or worked babysitting or mowing lawns, ect. then bring one. If you haven't, I'd just bring a reference sheet. Try to find teachers or other people who know you well. If you go to church or any other religious site, put down your pastor/minister. Believe it or not it seems like a lot of places like when you put down a religious representative.

I don't try to dress one step a head and do fine, you'd be surprised at times. I got hired half way through an interview wearing jeans. Wear something comfortable. I'd go for nice pants (kahkkis or slacks), and a button down shirt or some nice top. If you wear make up, don't wear eye liner all the way across the bottom and do it thin. Wear mascara, and make sure your lips aren't chapped. Be sure to wear closed toe shoes (but not sneakers), because they might give you a tour.

      • You need a resume. And references, and a cover letter. Other people applying will bring these things and look much better than you.

You need to wear black pants or a black skirt, and a nice blouse. Wear sensible nice shoes.

Be early. Smile a TON. Keep good eye contact.

Last thing...don't listen to people commenting on this being like "la la do whatever" because it is better safe than sorry.

8 Tips For Doing Well on Your Big Job Interview

      • The call could come in at any time. Just go about your regular day but keep the phone close. Employers are so busy these days, sometimes it seems there is just not enough time in the day to get everything on the to do list done. It could be tomorrow or the next day before the employer calls back. Keep a positive attitude, keep busy ... please don't just sit around and wait.

      • I would not call when they first open, when the close, or during a very busy time. I think 2 should be fine. Also if you call around 11-1 ish people could be at lunch.

      • 4:52-4:55pm

See how dumb that sounds? They call when they call.
