Job Interview Follow Up - Five Simple Steps to Success

Recommended Answer:
Hey. I'm applying there too (no work experience) , how old are you?
Here are a few good questions to study:* How do you handle stress and pressure?
* What motivates you?
* What are your salary expectations?
* What do you find are the most difficult decisions to make?
* Tell me about yourself.
* What are your pet peeves?
* Do you prefer to work independently or on a team?
* What interests you about this job?
* Why do you want this job?
* Are you overqualified for this job?
* What are your goals for the next five years / ten years?
* How do you plan to achieve those goals?

* Most of the questions will be about you and your work ethic.
You're basically trying to persuade the employer to hire you!
Take your time answering questions, it's better to give a well though out answer than a poor one.

Good luck!

Job Interview Questions: I have a job interview as a receptionist today!! Gah what do I wear?

I have an interview today for a receptionist position. What should I wear? I mean-dont say dressy casual. Should I wear jeans and a nice top? A skirt? A dress?

The Job Interview Process - What to Expect

Recommended Answer:
Do Not wear jeans.
It would all depend what kind of receptionist job it was.. but you want to dress up and look your best.
A skirt and a nice top. Or dress. Good shoes. Prim and neat.

Since you will be the first person that clients or customers see at this company-they want to see that person NOW.
You will be the first impression that people have of their business.
Before you leave, look in the mirror and say
" what would I think of a company and I walked in the door and the receptionist looked like this ?" If youre happy with it..then wear it.

With jobs, even if youre applying to be the cleaning lady, always dress up, if you want the job.
You want it to appear youre putting your best effort into this.

Can I Really Get That Job? - How To Survive a Job Interview - Part 1

  • You can wear jeans if they're dark wash and fitted, then they should be classy looking. A nice blouse that doesn't have any excessive cleavage and make sure it's slightly more loose than the width of your hips (but is fit)
And a causal cardigan over top. and wear either ballet flats or heels.
Or you can wear a pencil skirt, high waisted belt, nice blouse that kinda puffs at chest and a a simple cardigan over top. Gladiator heels would go nicely with this outfit.

  • Hi Stacy! For the post you want to attend the interview, you can wear nice dark color skirt with a light color top on it. This is the ideal dress for the interview for a women. Hope you will get the job Best of Luck!

  • ahhh interview wheree!!! ive been lookin everywhere for a freakin job man !
good luck sista.. where a nice dressy top like mid long sleeve no lowcutt. with eaither a dressy skirt kinda long kinda short or dressy pants... with high heels or cute flats.!
    goood luck!

  • It's a job interview for a receptionist, and most jobs like that they expect you to dress nicely. DO NOT. I repeat DO NOT EVER wear jeans to an interview. Wear a nice pair of black/dress pants and a nice top.

  • A dress? wtf lol it's an interview not a night out...

You should wear something smart, you shouldn't find it hard to know what to wear to a job like that either...

  • Go for a hint of formal, not too much though. Wear a blouse, with a pair of black trousers, or those pencil skirt (whatever they're called)...

    Good luck!

  • DO NOT WEAR JEANS. A skirt and a nice top or a dress would be appropriate.

Job Interview - 4 Ways to See Yourself as Job Interviewers Do

Recommended Answer:
Be polite and friendly.

Speak in a calm voice and shake hands firmly like you would a friend.

Keep eye contact and smile ... don't fidget ... it shows your nervousness.

Be honest and ask questions.

They're not interested in your complete life history so if they ask you to tell them a little bit about yourself keep it short and simple .... you should finish in 2 minutes or less when talking about yourself. Things like where you were born, went to school and activities/sports you like. Simple and quick.

Above all believe in yourself.

You'll be fine ... (smiling) ...

Job Interview Questions: Should employers be allowed to ask if people smoke in a job interview?

likee, what i mean is, should like people who interview people be allowed to ask if they smoke.
    why or why not?

Job Interview Tips to Help You Wow Your Interviewers and Land the Job

    Recommended Answer:
I don't think that whether or not you get the job should depend on whether or not you smoke. I don't think so, only if it has no effect on you getting the job. But if it didn't, why would they be asking that? =/

3 Steps to a Great Job Interview

    • Hey, I've been running from one job interview to another for at least a year.

I was so close to giving up when a friend of mine told me about this great job interview system.
The tips that I got from the EBook were priceless. I now hold a steady position in a good company just because of his advice. I will give you the same advice that he gave me…

    • I don't think that should be question in an interview. It is our right to smoke or not. Will that hurt our chance of getting the job? Would they hire us on our skills or will they turn us away due to our smoking. So I say no,its not appropriate at all. They can say if you are a smoker there are designated areas to smoke.

    • No, because it isn't really the employers business and what does it matter? Not everyone who smokes are inconsiderate about where and when they do it.

    • yeah.If i was the employer i wouldnt to hire somebody who pollutes the air and plus i hate smokers anyway.

    • I think so.
It may be a health concern.
Like they don't want the food to smell.
And maybe because smoking is irresponsible then they think you are, too.

    • *
Whether or not someone smokes is a good measure of their intelligence and ability to make good decisions.
      *

    • NO
Its personal. have a no smoking sign board in all offices
and set aside a smoking zone for smokers

Job Interview Questions: What kind of questions will they ask at a job interview for a movie theater?

I have an interview tomorrow at a movie theater and am scared sh!tless! I'm 16 and it's my first job. What kind of questions will they ask me? And how do I answer? I can only guess they'll ask me to describe myself in three words, my hobbies, etc, but what others?? Also I am wearing black pants with a nice but casual shirt. Is that okay?

Our Six-Step Guide to a Successful Job Interview

    Recommended Answer:
I work at a movie theater. Lets see..some questions i was asked were..how many classes am i taking in college. when am i available, and can i work holidays. (say yes, even though it sucks..i have to work every holiday :( ) Another question i was asked is what would make me a good employee. But really, im sure they will hire you no matter what, because this time a year, we need new people :)

How to Prepare for a Job Interview

    • I could sense this is a part-time job. Usually, they'd ask you about your availability, your passion and some other general questions. Do worry, be polite and be there on time. They don't expect a lot from you. Telling them you are prepared to perform some general light duties such as picking up materials on the floor where you see it would endanger other people, be able to communicate with other people at all level etc. Good luck to you.

    • Your interview outfit sounds fine. 3 words, hmm...ready to work!

Mainly I think they are going to try to make an assessment as to whether or not you would be a reliable employee. That means somebody who sincerely wants the job, and will be dependable.
By dependable that means you have to have good attendance. a job is a big responsibility. your employers count on you being there because if you don't show up things get harder for everybody else.

Also they will be looking at your ability to deal with the public. So smile a lot and be friendly and open and try not to be toooo nervous (interviewers actually already know you are probably nervous and take that into account).

    • They most likely just want to know that you are honest and have a good work ethic. As long as you show that you are responsible, you should be fine. If they ask you a question and you don't have the perfect answer, don't worry about it. Just try to relax and say what feels natural. Good Luck!

Job Interview Questions: What can i expect at my Walgreens job interview?

This is pretty much my first job and I have an interview at Walgreens tomorrow. Is there any thing that I should expect? What questions do you think they are going to ask? Anything specific I should do? Im just nervous as all..

I applied for the service clerk position*Anyways, Thanks!

How to Improve Your Job Interview Skills

    Recommended Answer:
make sure you stay relaxed, smile a lot, and be really polite.
also be excited about the company. if they ask you why you want to work at walgreens (which there's a 87% chance they will) do not say it seems like a good job. i did that once.. big mistake lol.
instead you should be really enthusiastic and say how you always go to walgreens because they have the best products. your whole family has always shopped there and the employees were always extremely nice and helpful.
    something like that.
they'll also ask what you would change about yourself if you could. the classic answer is that you would do more community service.
ahah i know... cheesy! but you can say anything along those lines. something you know they would want to hear.
also think of what you would say if they ask you to tell them about yourself.
they'll also ask what you would do in certain scenarios. such as what would you do if a customer complained about a product? or what would you do if a coworker was talking badly to you about the boss.
just try and think about what you would say to all these questions and you'll be fine :)
good luck! and since you posted this 16 hours ago, i'm probly too late. haha oh well it helped me writing this stuff out too cuz i have an interview in a few days :)

Job Interview Questions: I'm going to have my first job interview tomorrow.any tips on how to handle anxiety?

I'm going to have my first job interview tomorrow.I feel anxious, nervous but at the same time excited.can anyone give me some advice on how to handle anxiety during interviews? Thanks in advance.

10 Easy Ways to Be Much More Confident in Job Interviews

    Recommended Answer:
Make sure you have an early night - no doubt your nerves will stop you from sleeping so well so the earlier you go to bed the better.
Before you go to bed but not in bed you should go over some typical interview scenarios in your head. Imagine yourself answering confidently.
In the morning have a good breakfast and make sure you allow plenty of time to get ready. You don't want to be rushing around making sure you are ready and get all flustered. Also plan your journey to the interview well - make sure you know how to get there!
At the interview try to relax. They will understand that you are going to be nervous. If you're feeling particularly flustered try sigh-breathing - take a deep breath and let it all out in a sigh, relaxing your body as you do. Answer questions slowly and don't be afraid to take the time to think about an answer before giving it. If all else fails and you're particularly anxious, just remember that it's only a job interview and not life or death. Imagine how relieved you will feel once the interview is over. You are only talking to people after all, people like you.
    Good luck!!

Job Interviews - How to Ace a Telephone Job Interview

    • Try to mentally prepare yourself for the questions you know they will ask. Try to make yourself believe you are the best person for the job and you will be more confident and able to relax.

    • practice answering questions at home so that it wouldn't feel so weird tomorrow when they ask you about stuff.

    • You can practice contracting your muscles on and off to help soothe the anxiety. It is a proven exercise to help lower your heart rate as well. If you cant do this before you go in and you are really in need of some help then go to your doctor and have him prescribe you some medication.
Another best thing to do is have your friend ask you a lot of questions you know and don't know that the interview may ask you. You should be ready for the interview, if you feel like you are not, then you need to sharpen up fast.

    • u must have good knowledge about ur subject,
and u must have some communication skils, and if u have not know about that interviewer question, i must said that u dont know about that question and u did not face in real time work.

and u must have in active mood means energytic and dont be bend down while facing the interview

    • Sweetie, remember one thing. You're not the only one going through this right now. There are people that have worked for companies for over 20 years that have lost their job and will have to go through this process. And, I would believe most interviewers realize that this is not an easy thing, because, remember, THEY had to go through this too. You must be very young to be saying this is a FIRST interview. The kid's story of the "Little Train," was, yes I can, yes I can. And Baby, you will be just fine. You're human.....and, so is the person doing the interview. Head up and act confident. Go out there and ace that job interview. One question they may ask you is, "What will you contribute to this company that would make me consider you as the best person for this job." Have a good answer for that and say it with confidence. Good luck Sweetie!

    • get a friend parent someone to practice and do this over and over again. asking interview questions over and over again. do this like a hour or two until u get it right.don't babel on with your answers. stay direct and to the point look at them don't day dream Never stair at the floor look at the person interviewing you, ya and for god goodness sit up straight. don't be afraid to laugh but don't make jokes you might think a joke is funny they might not.this is a small list and good luck remember to brush your teeth. if this is a interview for say burger king well just change your underware smile and say yes sir no sir or mam and you wil be flipping those burgers in no time flat. i take mine no tomatoes

    • depends on the job...Google types of questions they would ask in an interview. That way u have answers for possible questions & feel mor confident.

    • For me, nothing beats rehearsing answers to typical job interview questions, such as:

      * Tell me about yourself.
      * Tell me about a time you failed.
      * Tell me about a mistake you made that you recovered from.
      * Do you work better by yourself? Or as part of a team?

      Good luck!
      Rick

Job Interview Questions: Can i wear the same clothes i wore to my homecoming to a job interview ?

I wore a dress shirt and slacks and dress shoes . nothing else . can i wear that to a job interview?

Job Interviews: How To Overcome The Bad Interviewer!

    Recommended Answer:
Yes if you feels comfortable on that clothes as long as it is net, tidy, descent, and presentable, please don't forget to bring a slightly unusual, but professional, high-quality paper for your resume, envelopes, cover letter and thank you note. It provides consistency in your branding. Make it a subtle such as a slightly rose-colored tinted paper, or off-white or you initials tastefully printed in the corner or on the bottom of the page. Make sure not to get ridiculously fancy or gaudy. Keep it tasteful and subtle.

4 Job Interview Tips to Get You Ready and Prepared

    • Mmm, no undies, belt or socks? jk
That will be fine, no need to wear a tie unless it's a job where a tie may be worn, like a biglaw firm. Most attorneys don't wear ties now, especially at small firms. But if you were interviewing at a biglaw firm, even for a mailroom job, you might want to wear a tie if you have one and you're comfy in it.

Unless you are a girl (homecoming slacks? maybe) and for some reason the business doesn't like when women wear slacks, and prefer skirts. Can you believe that still exists? But it does, so girls should always check to see what employees at the business wear to make sure.

You generally want to dress a step up from what you'd actually be wearing at the job. Seems silly, but that seems to be how it is at many places.

      Good luck!

    • uh if its a serious interview, maybe add a dressy jacket, and if its for like a minor job, then your fine

    • Yeah, you should be fine. You'll look pulled together without looking as though you are trying too hard.

    • yes sounds prefect

    • No cause..idk

I have a job interview at McDonald's(its my first job and i am seventeen :/ )
I was just wondering what proof of ID will i need, I have a drivers license and a passport but my birth certificate has been misplaced. I also have my national insurance number card.

Will this be enough proof of ID?

      Recommended Answer:
I found your question while searching for US questions, but there is no sucn thing as a national insurance card in the US, so you must be writing about some other country. There is no possibility of answering your question without knowing what country you are in.

Job Interview Preparation - Three Key Steps

      • This is a little off topic but in today's employment environment there are 3 critical steps that must be taken 100% of the time to successful land any job. Unfortunately, more often than not these simple steps are not taken.

        1) It doesn't matter weather the position is for a janitor or an engineer you must take the time to figure out what is important to the employer.

        2) You must be prepared for the unexpected when it comes to questions and general conversation.

        3) You will be amazed because once you have done your homework your stress levels will drop and your confidence will rise. This will put you in the front runners position no matter what the experience level of the other applicants.

You should always dress according to the employers style. If it's a casual position/employer then dress casual, if it's a strictly professional position/employer then your attire should be professional. More importantly you should always no matter casual or professional error on the conservative side....never over do it or wear extremely bright colors.

Employers hire those that respond to questions effectively and appear confident over experience the majority of the time.

This can almost guarantee your success with any job....

      • This should be okay. Still, some companies (especially the bigger ones) do require a lot of documents. You can always get your birth certificate from the statistics office. You can even do this online if you want.

Job Interview Questions: What are some good job interview tips for shy people?

I'm 17 years old. I'm thinking about getting a job this summer, but I'm nervous about the job interviews. This will be my first job/job interview, so I'm not completely sure what to expect. I'm REALLY shy to the point where I sometimes can't even respond back to questions, but I don't want this to hold me back. Does anyone know of any examples of good things to say during a job interview? Or maybe any suggestions to help me know what kind of questions that could be asked. Thanks in advance!

Sneaky Interview Tips - How to Annihilate Anxiety Before Your Next Job Interview

      Recommended Answer:
Shyness is expected, but it'll also prevent you from really shining and showing what kind of person you are. Being to assertive is equally harmful, so you need to find a fine line to walk in there.

First off don't dread the interview because you'll just feel sick throughout the event and then probably do poorly. My best advice is to do a mock interview with your parents or friends or yourself if need be. Questions they often ask is,

"Please describe yourself" (And this does not mean your personal interests... they want to know what you can bring to the job, so talk about your skills etc...)

      "Whats your experience?"

Some HR people will sometimes play a scenario with you and ask for your thoughts. I remember once when I applied to Bestbuy a long long time ago lol they asked..

"If you saw an employee steal a coke that belonged to another employee, what would you do"
lol you think it's funny but it can answer a lot about the person. You need to answer things like that as if your a diplomat and you'll figure stuff out on your own in the room while being interviewed.

As for your shyness, may I suggest somethings to you as I'm actually a high school history teacher and that's to volunteer somewhere where it requires you to interact with people. I also suggest a library where you can read to children or even a retirement home. Just be around someone with more wisdom and see how much you can interact with them.

Of course being interviewed if much different but I think things like that can help to unlock yourself from that cycle. Just remember that it's normal to be shy, but just don't let that hamper your goals.

      Good luck.
