Appearance Matters in Job Interviewing

Recommended Answer:
This is an invitation for you to present yourself. There's plenty of advice on the net about how to structure it, but the simplest way is to tell "the story of your working life" and base it on what is in your CV. Spend time in advance thinking about your own story, write it all down, get the facts straight in your head (they will pick up on inconsistencies between what you say and what is in the CV), focus on your achievements and qualities. Practice saying it out loud, preferably to someone else. If you are young and don't have much work history to present, you need to fill it out with other examples of achievements from your education or part-time work that you believe illustrate your particular qualities.

If you haven't thought about this in advance you may come across as flustered and unprepared. Some interviewers are kinder than others and will help you to draw out what they want to know, but if you are up against someone who is better prepared it's not going to do you any favors.

Best of luck
