Weird Job Interview Tips: 2009 Psychology Study Reveals Truth Behind First Impressions

  • They won't call you for an interview if they already know that they don't want to hire you. For instance, you didn't do well on the pre-screen questions, you're availability isn't what they are hiring for, etc. However, just because they call you doesn't mean they will hire you either. It just means on paper you looked good. However, how you show up for the interview is the most important part. Show up clean, and dressed nicely (nothing too fancy, but not just jeans either...Khakis and a nice shirt would be fine)...Make sure you are on time, and smiling. Take off extra jewelry, and keep your hair simple and clean. Be friendly! Answer all the questions as honestly as you can, don't just give them the answers they want to hear. Couple of things you might want to say, are that you are willing to learn new things, you want to learn to do both grill and counter, you love working with people as part of a team, you like interacting with people (customers), you are a quick learner, you are looking for steady employment (aka you want hours and you plan on being there for a while), you have a flexible availability (you can work lots of different shifts), you take pride in showing up as scheduled and can take extra shifts sometimes and you are professional (you will show up clean and neat for work with a good attitude)...Good luck :)
