Job Interview Questions: Need advice on suggesting skype for job interview?

A company would like me to travel very far for an interview which would be costly and time consuming. Do you think suggesting a skype call/webcam interview would be a good idea, at least during the initial stage.

Any thoughts?

Ask him if he wouldn't mind Skype. If he doesn't mind, great. If he says he would only want to do it in person, and you're not willing to go there, then I guess you didn't want the job that bad...
