    • They might ask you questions about your previous jobs, why you want to work for Starbucks, or what you think your positive and/or negative qualities are.
You could ask them about the pay (at the end of the interview, if you don't know already), and what benefits are included (if you are a full time employee).

Job Interview Questions: I have group job interview at Pier 1, what should I expect?

My interview is on Thursday and they told me that it was a Group Interview. I don't really know what to expect because I have never been to one before. Thanks for everyone's help! :)

    Preparing For Job Interviews

    Recommended Answer:
Don't know anything about Pier1 ...except that it's a furniture store I think..

But I do know a couple things about group interviews. I had one, and I bombed it. Obviously, you have to stand out. This is the time to whore yourself out as much as possible. Be respectful & give others the space to talk too. You have to be witty, funny, and leave a lasting impression.

Be the first one and make a little chit-chat with the interviewer.

    Smile a lot.

Get ready to do a good sales pitch, be convincing & smooth. Don't make it too long cause customers will get tired of hearing you talk too much.

    Brush your teeth.

Job Interview Questions: Job interview on Friday! Please help? :)?

It doesn't help that I'm VERY shy, timid, SCARED!!

Do you have any tips for me?

The job interview is for 'Homecare Pharamacy purchasing assistant'. All I really know is that it is a financial role where I will be seeing lots of invoices and inputting data onto Microsoft excel.

I've never done anything like this and clearly stated this in the interview so I'm quite shocked to have an interview.

I'm currently a receptionist on a Labour ward so the only similarity is that it's within the NHS.

Best Answers to the Trickiest Job Interview Questions

      Recommended Answer:
Okay, so if you're a receptionist you must have experience in data entry, right? You must also know or have used Microsoft Office / Excel as well, right? If this is the case you have nothing to worry about, they (Homecare Pharmacy) will bring you up to speed on what your duties will entail. If you do not have experience with data entry or Microsoft Excel then you really should NOT go to the interview... you would only end up embarrassing yourself and wasting the interviewer's time.

The Comic Tragedy of Job Interviews

      • hey hun

the job i have now, i had hardly any experience for. they asked for Audio typing, minute taking and stuff and i havent really done any of those things!! you learn on the job, the bits you think will be the hardest are often the easiest (i almost cancelled the interview because i hadnt dont audio typing).

tell them how much you want to learn and progress. if anything, go to the interview for experience :) you never know. i didnt think i had a shot at getting this job, yet here i am 10 months later doing what i love :)

        good luck xxxx

      • You will do fine.once you get in and get the hang off everything, you'll laugh at the fact that you worried so much.but I know that it is scary to start any new job but not to worry. if they like you great and if not, thats okay too.but I'am sure that you'll do fine. hold your head up and believe in yourself and keep repeating..." I can do this". and you will. and praying to God helps too!

Job Interview Questions: What questions will they ask me at my CVS job interview?

Discriminatory Job Interview Questions to Avoid

      Recommended Answer:
It being entry level I wouldn't worry about looking highly sharp but if you have anything in your closet that is very nice and non revealing that will be fine. I hate to avoid your question but yr mother would be betterat answering that question.

As far as questions it always can vary such as:
Why do you wanna work for us?
Tell me a little bit about yourself (practice this answer starting now because it'll likely be brought up on every single interview in the future!)

Also if the called you back this soon there is a strong need to get someone in there quick. If I told you any other question's to expect when walking in I'm afraid I'd make you more.nervous than you already would be.
don't forget: smile relax and take a deep breath when you sit down. It really won't be that bad.

The Job Interview Technique That Will Blow Away the Competition

      • Dress nice, shirt and tie if you are a guy, and something relatively equivalent professionally for a gal. (I am not a gal, so I know nothing of what that means, sorry.)

As for what they will ask you:

Tell me about yourself. (This is a wide open "question", but be prepared to give examples of how your personality and work ethic will make you a good employee.)
Why do you want to work for CVS? (Your answer should have more to do with the values the company has rather than the values you have. Research this online before your interview. If you can almost quote from things off of their website, you'll sound really good, for example.)
Where do you see yourself in 6 months, a year, 5 years? (Companies are more interested in people who will stay with the company for long periods of time rather than people who will hop from job to job. Better still if you want to make a career working for them.)
What are your greatest strengths? (Pick something that will help the business.)
What are your greatest weaknesses? (This is a trick question. Be prepared to answer how even your weaknesses will make you a better employee. My answer is usually something like this: "I get really frustrated when I see that I am working my butt off to do my work, and I look around and see my coworkers standing around talking doing nothing.")
How would you handle difficult customers? (Never do anything to escalate the hostility of a situation.)
Tell me about a difficult customer, and how you handled it. (Same as the previous question.)
Tell me about a "favorite" customer. (Go out of your way to describe how you treat the most valued business commodity.)

        I hope this helps.

      • Why are you begging for this 7 dollar an hour job? That is what they should ask you. Finish school, go to college, do what it takes and do not get into the 7 dollar an hour job market. Explain to your parents how this is NOT beneficial to you. If you have to, join the Navy for 2 years to get college money,.

Job Interview Questions: Pant suit or skirt suit for job interview?

The place I'm applying for is all about gender equality and empowering girls. I wore a pant suit for the first group interview. So is a skirt suit appropriate for the one-on-one interview?

Job Interview Tip Number 1 is Preparation

      Recommended Answer:
They are both fine. I think a pant suit is a little better though. IDK why - it just seems more professional to me. Even a conservative skirt shows some leg, and that's OK, but until you get hired, wear slacks. My opinion only.

Even though tattoos are becoming more and more common, there are still places where it is taboo. I don't think you are being paranoid, I do believe it would effect your hiring status. Many places want a professional looking person working for them and tattoos and body piercings may offend others. Many places would require you to cover up your tat and remove certain piercing if you were to work for them.

        • It depends what's in the tattoo, how visible it is, and if its offensive.

As long as your clients don't see it, and if they do it isn't offensive whatsoever, it should be fine.

You might want to look into it further by doing some research though. xx

She should be able to set you up with at least an eyebrow pencil, and possibly a couple stencils to ensure that you create the right shape and that both eyebrows are symmetrical. You can also buy hair re-growth products for eyebrows and eyelashes. These are easy to find online and will help your eyebrows to grow back faster so that you don't have to spend as long penciling them in.

In the future, don't use a razor or anything like that for facial hair (I'm sure you've figured that out already, though). Use tweezers or eyebrow wax (which you can get at most drugstores). Another option is to go to a salon and get them waxed, threaded, or tweezed professionally. It's pretty cheap, usually around 10-15 bucks.

Good luck! As long as you pencil them in as naturally as possible, you should be fine for your interview. Just try to make them look as close to your natural eyebrows as possible. You don't want them too bold because that would only draw more attention to them.

How to Answer Job Interview Questions - How to Impress Your Potential Employer

                  • color it with marker (or leave it alone it might grow fast)

                  • Shave the other. Symmetry is more important that hair.

                  • The only way to correct an eyebrow mistake is with an eyebrow pencil. Sorry dude, but you will either run around with strange brows, or you'll look like you just had a makeover. anyway, they should grow back to there original shape in 4 to 6 weeks, unless you cut your natural arch out, then they will grow back straight across

                  • my best friend did this too. Go to the store and get an eyebrow pencil and fill it in. you can get them in the same color as your hair. No one noticed for her but it takes practice to get the penciling rite. Good Luck!!

                  Recommended Answer:
If you are in the US, employers can not discriminate against pregnant women when hiring. However, that does not mean that it doesn't happen (it happens all the time) and they just claim you weren't hired for other reasons. It is really up to you on whether to tell them or not, and on how much you need the job. Also, if they require you to do a drug test, it will show up in that.

You are not under any legal obligation to say that you are pregnant until 30 days prior to delivery (if you plan to use FML). If it were me, I would wait until after I was hired; if they then have any issues, you have a better case for a discrimination case if you needed to do that ...

As to how to tell them - if you waited, you could announce at 25 weeks. If they ask why you withheld, you can say that you have had previous miscarriages and you wanted to wait until the period when your baby could survive outside the womb in case anything happened. Or you could say nothing, you do not have to justify your decision in the US.

Job Interviewing Skills: The Many Benefits of Asking Questions?

                      • Remember that you did your best to present yourself at the interview. YOU didn't fail.

They failed to see the benefits of choosing you over the others. And in a competitive job market, that happens often.

I know our company hires many people, and some of them don't even get past their first day. The HR staff "thought" that they were the right ones, but their judgment proved flawed.

                      • As a Christian who has trusted in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, I would walk in his forgiveness for my past sins and mistakes. In addition, I would draw comfort from reading the Bible, attending church, listening to Christian music, etc. The Bible says to "take every thought captive," and when those negative thoughts come around I would command them to leave in Jesus' name. Lastly, I would plead the blood Jesus shed for my sins over my senses to combat those demonic whispers of condemnation.

                      • See it as a stepping stone... What errors were made this time and how could you correct them next time... It took me a while to get it right during interviews before I landed a job... We all make mistakes, that is why there is an eraser on the end of pencils (or back space on keyboards)... : )

Job Interviews - What Makes a Great Interview Candidate?

                      Recommended Answer:
Yes. Often the interviewer is looking for your immediate decision making skills. If you vacillate, it can be a negative or a positive, depending on when, during the interview, the question is asked. If it was asked before any information about the job was divulged, you can look either needy or totally challenged by the unknown. It depends on the skills and experience of the interviewer as well as your answer.
Next time it's asked, be honest. Base your response on the information you have at that particular moment of the interview.

Job Interview Answers That Lead to Success

                      • Being honest at an interview or on a resume is best way not to get a good job.

If they ask that question again, you say, "Well, I am entertaining few offers right now, so it would depend on whether the pay you offered is set in stone or whether you would be willing to negotiate".

The minute you just agree to first thing they suggest, you scream to them "I'm willing to put up with whatever you toss at me because I am desperate for a job". Unless you really have to or something bad will happen, such as you're 6 months behind on rent, try not to do that.

                      • I've never been asked that...but I think it's obvious that you would take it, otherwise, you wouldn't be applying for it.

                      • everybody is different and don't ask the same questions

Be Prepared For Job Interview Success

                      • The general rule of thumb is to wear one "step up" in dress from what a person in the position would typically wear or what the dress code is. Another good tip is to dress to match the boss / interviewer.

I always wore a suit for interviews. I also generally wear heels because I'm comfortable in them. I would absolutely recommend wearing flats if that is where your comfort level lies (or if the job is something that's going to have you running around - caring for children, etc.)

If you don't have an actual suit, do you have a blazer or suit jacket that you could pair with some slacks or a (knee-length) skirt?

The sound of your outfit is nice, but I would add some color somewhere. You want them to see you right away and remember you. It may not be fair, but your outfit is the first thing they're going to judge and a smartly worn eye-catching piece will work wonders. Either a bright scarf or bold jewelry maybe? (I wouldn't recommend a 'loud' purse or bag as you don't want to be carrying anything big with you.)

                      • Black and grey is always good. I also be sure I fix my hair (it's naturally curly so I straighten it). To me it just looks more professional and I hate my hair curly. If I do curl it, I don't air dry it, I actually pull out the curling iron and fix it properly. For makeup I do a very neutral look: nude eye shadow or a champagne color (adds light to the eyes), a light amount of eye liner, and mascara. Small amount of blush, and nude lips (say chapstick or a neutral lip color). Fixing your hair and being sure your nails are neat and trim will show the interviewer that you care for your personal hygiene, which reflects positively to your work ethic.

I think what you described will be just fine. If it's a company that would more likely being in suits, I would try to find a blazer or at least a nice looking scarf to dress it up a bit.

                      • I dress as close to the way I would be dressing for the job I'm applying for. When I was applying for a grocery store, I wore black slacks, black socks and tennis shoes, and a white button-up shirt. When I applied for an office job, I wore black slacks, a nice shirt, nylons and low heals.

I don't usually wear makeup, and as a result, I'm not very confident when it comes to applying the right colors and applying it properly. If I felt the need to put on make up, I'd put on as little as possible and follow the "less is more" rule...I'd want it to look like I wasn't wearing ANY makeup. Especially if it's an office job; I wouldn't go for the bold look.

                      • It honestly depends on what job. What you said your wearing sounds great just don't overdress. Just say this.. if your interviewing at say walmart or other basic store you don't want to go wearing a nice suit, hair and makeup all done up nice and jewelry from Tiffany's if you get what i mean. A nice pair of dress pants with a casual not too dressy shirt looks great. It looks like your hiding something and they don't like that. Managers like to find people who will be open, and be themselves. However if it's a higher job like management or other position you should dress nice because it shows your professionalism. Most managers however should see past your clothing and into your personality. As long as you seem like a potentially good employee thats all that matters Dressing nice just shows your comitment and of course your preofessionalism. Thats why it's bad to show up in jeans and things like that - to me it looks like it was just another errand in your day.
Do your hair and make-up the same way you always do it. You don't want to have a completely different appearance at the interview then you do when you get the job. If you wear very bold makeup then tone it down for the workplace in general.

When I go for interviews I usually follow these standards. I got an interview at shopko for a cashier and I wore khaki pants with dress shoes, and a sweater or casual shirt I cant remember. When I interviewed at one of the hospitals for a medical records position I dressed up a little bit more. I work nice black dress pants, black heels a button up shirt with a jacket. Not too dressy but dressy enough. I got both jobs so I think the standards are pretty well met.

                        Good luck :)

                      • I wear slacks, button down shirt and a cardigan. I apply a small amount of makeup. I don't want to over do it. I have been in interviews where others are waiting in jeans and graphic t-shirts. I have done interviews where girls dress like they are going to a club, while I am not a man that doesn't impress me. The only thing that impresses me is how well you sell yourself, if you look like you have a good work ethic, good attitude, and dress presentable.

                      • It's been a few years since I've been to one, but I work slacks and a nice shirt. I too wore flats, as I don't like heels and they seemed a bit too fancy for the job I was interviewing for. ;-) I'm not a huge make up wearer. Usually just a bit of basic black eye liner, a light eyeshadow and the occasional small bit of mascara. Other then that, that's usually it.

                      • It's been a while since I had an interview but in general, I would wear khakis and a nice shirt with dress shoes. My last job was at a daycare and I knew I'd be wearing jeans and a tee shirt everyday but still dressed for an interview. My boss even said I could have wore jeans to the interview but I can't do that lol.

                      • What you have sounds fine. I have a black interview/funeral suit, and a few different color shirts as part of my professional wardrobe. I wear white or blue to a first interview, and if it went well, I go with something bolder for a follow-up, like a bright pink or a lime green.

                      • Black slacks, a cute dressy top (but nothing too bright / busy) and black flats. Id do my make up just like I do any other day.. foundation, powder, eye shadow to match the outfit but not 'clubbish' or 'night out-ish', eye liner, mascara and lip gloss. :-)

                      • I have two suits, but I also have a lot of other professional looking clothes. I have a certain power outfit that I always go to for lots of confidence. I do my makeup with nude shades and mascara. I don't want to look like a harlot haha.

                      • My 1st three interviews were extremely informal- a summer camp and 2 fast food joints.

I didn't have an interview for my current job- my stepmom just hired me. That sounds like a good outfit though. The only thing I'd do different for make up is mascara

                      • That sounds good. I wear slacks and a nice shirt. Usually I try to keep the color toned down, I would hate to draw attention away from my awesome beauty and stunning personality.

Be careful with that eye liner.

                      • Black dress pants a nice dressy shirt or one that looks professional. For my last job I wore black dress pants, a long sleeved pink shirt with sequins on the neck line, and black high heels and a little mascara. Beyond easy.

                      • Sounds good but, you may want to add bit of color like a blue, red, or whatever color looks good on you for the shirt? Like a plain button down shirt not a print. Good Luck!!!

                      • Black skirt (knee length), nylons, white dressy t-shirt, grey cardigan, necklace and earrings. Black flats. I wear minimal make-up.

                      • It depends on the job you're interviewing for.

                      • i almost always wore jeans and a clean shirt, always got the job too :)

                      • depends ur job type and moreover light makeup is always better with normal jeans and t-shirt..

English for Your Job Interview - How to Succeed

                      • As a general rule, it's good to wear what you'd expect to wear on the job. If you're looking for a job out on the store floor, non-slip lace-up shoes, socks, black slacks (not jeans) and a white shirt would be about right. For an office job, a dress or a skirt and blouse, quite conservative rather than "cute", plus stockings with flat shoes or low heels (not sandals or flip-flops) would make a good impression.

Brush your hair back into a neat style, make sure your fingernails are short and clean, and soft-pedal the makeup. No perfume.

                        Good luck on your interview!

                      • Look smart and professional. Not too much make up, no strong perfume. You can bring a purse.

When I went to a supermarket interview it was a group interview. They asked what I knew of the company so have a look at their website and have an idea of how big their operation is (world wide?), are they cheap like lydles, general range or expensive. They also made us play a group picture game to see how we react to each other. Sound enthusiastic and like you want to be there, it's a piece of cake.

                      • Well it's safeway....It's not like you're going to dress up in a suit or anything, you don't want to over or under dress. There's a couple of interview videos on youtube which might help you. I've had interviews in the past at gloria jeans and fcuk clothing. I just wore smart casual clothes and I got the job. As long as you don't show too much skin (leg, clevage). Good luck :)

Job Interview Questions: What to wear to a retail job interview?

I am applying/possibly interviewing at a couple retail stores tomorrow just small stuff like bath and body works and claires... but how dressed-up should I be? Just a skirt and a shirt? slacks and a blouse? a suit? Help me out!

How to Job Interview in Today's Job Market

                      Recommended Answer:
Agree with Kevin...slightly more formal than the associates.

For the stores that you list, a suit would probably be too much. Dress pants and a blouse would be good, or dress pants and a tank top with a cardigan over it. Skirts would be fine as long as they're on the dressy/formal side and hit at or below the knee. A dressy top would be okay, too. Keep your shoulders covered. Your shoes/jewelry should be tasteful, but if you can I would bring along an accent piece (fun necklace, brightly colored pumps) to wear for the appropriate stores. At someplace fashion-forward like Claires or other trendy retailers, this will help you stand out (in a good way) but might not be a good idea at stores that are more oriented to adults or the general public.

This is not as important if you're not interviewing, but I do recommend dressing up a little even if you're just picking up applications. You may be able to meet the manager briefly and a good impression there will go a long way.

                        Recommended Answer:
You'll be asked to give examples of when you've worked effectively as part of a team / as an individual. You'll be asked how you have improved on an existing process to make it better. You'll be asked to give an example of where you've dealt with a difficult colleague or customer.

There are lots of questions they may ask you, and I'm guessing if this is your first job you'll be working in retail or a customer service role right? If the answer is yes, expect them to ask all of the above.

The key to passing the interview is to be calm, be confident and be very friendly and likable.. If they like the positive vibes you give off, the job will be yours.

Google a website called Business Balls if you want specific examples of questions and good answers to them, and ask a senior family member or teacher to help you prepare. It's ok that you havent had a job before cos everyone has to start somewhere.

Smile and be confident, and you'll own the interview.
                        Good luck!

A Guide To Common Job Interview Questions And Answers

                        • .

The most important focus of an interviewer is about what you can contribute to the company based on your work ethics, attitude, experience and education. They may ask you what qualifies you for the job. How can you contribute to this organization? What is your previous experience that suits you for this job? How well do you work with others and how will you relate to clients/customers? They may ask you what your strengths and weaknesses are. They may ask you where yous see yourself in two to five years.

                        • Chances are they won't give much thought to your birthday. The questions will be geared more toward the job you are interviewing for. Case in point, what in your experience makes you believe that you are qualified for this position? You state on your resume that you've done "this" before, do you think that it qualified you to do "that"? If you were hired for this position and a situation like "such and such" came up, how would you handle that? You stated that when you worked for so-and-so doing such-and-such, how do you believe that will help you if your job duties include x-y-z? These type of job specifics are more like what they will ask you. If you've made it to the interview stage, they'll be asking a lot more than what your birthday is.

                        • they will ask questions that will qualify you for the position if you answer them in a suiting way

                        Job Interview Do's and Don'ts

                        Recommended Answer:
Find a recent picture of yourself (before the eyebrows were shaved off) buy an eyeliner pencil that the same color your eyebrows were. Stand in front a mirror and try to draw your eyebrows in as best as you can. If your afraid to do it yourself ask someone to do it for you. Or you could go to the interview with no eyebrows and tell the person what happened, dont act mad at your brother, kinda laugh it off. the person might like how you didnt get mad at your brother and hire you.

I hope I helped and good luck with your interview! =)

                        Ace the Job Interview

                        Recommended Answer:
This may not answer your direct question, but I believe it is good advice for anyone who is looking for a job. One thing that job seekers seem not to know or forget is that all employers are looking for a certain type of worker. They are looking for an honest, hard working, fairly intelligent and dependable employee. They are also looking for a person who can get along with the public and other employees. If you don't have every one of those characteristics, your chances are slim and none to get and hang onto a job.

Always think about who you would like to hire if you were looking for an employee. Would you hire you? Look at yourself at the way you walk, talk, dress and even write. (Have someone proofread your application before turning it in. Fill it out in pencil first, then erase and use ink) Are you a dependable employee? If you were to be asked that question, how would you answer? Would you want you out on the firing line talking to customers? Why? You would want the best person talking to your customers, wouldn't you? Are you the best person? Why?

Your wants, needs and desires are not really important to a business owner. Stop thinking about yourself and start thinking about how you could improve the business you want to work for. Put yourself in the driver's seat and let the interviewer know who you are and what you can do for them. Somehow let them know that you are their best choice from all the others that are applying for the job.

If you really want to get hired, you should be camping out at the nearest library reading every job hunting book you can get your hands on. These books are a great help. Read them several times. It has been said that getting the job is harder than the job itself—so you need to be PREPARED.

Job Interview Advice Everyone Can Use

                          • I say a good mix of both is ideal. You always want to remain professional in an interview, but you also want to be honest and give the interviewer a good idea of who you are as a person and what kind of an employee you will be. If your answers are too generic they will know you are BS'ing. Remember, an interviewer is not only listening for your answer to their question, they are looking to find out how you communicate and deal with people, how you handle yourself, and how you present yourself and your ideas. Good luck!

                          • A mix of both is ideal. You always want to remain professional but they are trying to find the best fit for their company and real answers that will give them a sense of your true personality is what will get you the job if you're the one. Do your research on the company and know what they are looking for and what the company stands for. That will get you a long way - showing that you made an effort and really want the job.

                            Good luck

                          • Well, if you've been out of work for a long time and hope to get a job, then I'd say honest answers are the best way to go.

If you are vague and unclear in your answers, then the interviewer might not take you seriously and would probably not consider you the right person for the job.

                          • Neither.

It is better to answer with "honest" but professional answers. The more honest you are the better chance of you not only getting the job but KEEPING it as well.

You and the company have to be a match.

                          • Doesn't matter usually, however a mix or completely professional.

just make sure your answers are short and concise...

                          • i think professional answer is better than casual answer

There is a common interview question that I personally have encountered twice. The question is: "would you bribe someone to get your word done if that was beneficial to the company?", and the right answer to that question is "No"

Personally, I beleive that any success that is not based on principles is just temporarily and will fade away eventually. An employer would never want to hire an unprincipled employee as well, because he will never know when he will turn against him.

                            Good luck in your interview.

                            • Did you get caught performing these illegal activities? If you didn't I would suggest you don't bring it up in a job interview. Companies don't want to hire someone who performs illegal activities, regardless if the activities were your idea or not.

                            • This is an interesting question and I'd love to know your motivation for asking it. Obviously, no - it is bad etiquette, and not very smart because it is not only self incriminating but reflects badly on the person's character. Either the person has a skewed view of what employers want and misguided sense of right and wrong - or for some reason they think they are interviewing with a company that expects them to perform such activities.

If I were interviewing this person, they certainly would not get the job.

It's great that you wish to be prepared because first impressions are lasting. Here are some helpful hints.

                              1. Dress in a clean white or blue dress shirt and black or khaki slacks with a conservative tie. Wear conversative shoes with socks. Keep jewelry to a minimum. Cover any tattoos. Have breath mints available. Wear hair in a conversative hairstyle.
                              2. Arrive 15 minutes before your interview.
                              3. Drive to the place of employment tonight so that you won't have any surprises on tomorrow.
                              4. Practice answering some typical interview questions. Yahoo jobs has some of these questions.
                              5. Use positive body language: pleasant smile, erect posture, don't cross legs at the knee, offer a firm handshake after the person extends his/her hand.
                              6. Know something about the company such as their mission, their services, years of operation.
                              7. Know what you bring to the company, such as troubleshooting, dependability, leadership, etc.
                              8. Consider taking a free personality test, such as Myers Briggs online, so that you can market yourself by using some of the attributes that will be listed on your test results.
                              9. Thank the interviewer in person and by sending a thank you letter that recaps some of your qualities.
                              10. Have 2 copies of your resume with you. You can always use your resume to remind the prospective employer of your skills. Your resume can include any volunteer or student work you may have done.

                              Good luck on tomorrow!

                                Hi Rose,

I just read an article about this! Avoid the standard "I'm too committed to my work" answer. Interviewers can see right through that. They expect you to be human, so give a human answer.

For your worst attribute, be human. Give a real answer. Explain what you're doing to overcome the problem.

For your best attribute, explain what others think are your best attribute. Maybe pick something from a performance review. Explain how you used this best attribute to accomplish something for the team.

It's a trick question. If you try not to look bad, you'll look bad. You have to look a little bad, but explain what you're doing to overcome it and you'll look better.

                                Good luck with the interview.

How to Bounce Back From Job Interview Rejection

                                    • Do a practice run. Have someone else do a mock interview on you with the intention of throwing some of the toughest and off the wall questions at you to prepare you for anything. Maybe do 2 or 3 runs with different questions each time. If you have a range of ideas of how to answer the oddest or toughest questions then you'll be more prepared and less of a jumble.

                                    • by getting a good nite's sleep the nite before and being nourished with healthy food. minimize the caffeine and sugar before the interview and brush your teeth no more than an hour before. lay out your clothes the night before, be sure everything is pressed and clean.

do your homework about the company and write down a few talking points. review your resume closely to remind yourself about your best quals and how to discuss.

when you have done all these things, you can have a feeling of confidence that will translate into your demeanor.

also carry a handkerchief, if you have a tendency to sweat and dab your face before the interview...

                                    • Lots of rest the night before, eat a good breakfast, don't bring a watch with you.

BTW, be honest and real. They can smell a fraud a mile away.
Also, if you're a woman: If you're uncomfortable in a heavy blouse and jacket, go with a dressy-casual top instead. I've won more jobs being qualified, comfortable and personable -- just someone they can envision would get along well with co-workers and a pleasure to be around -- than anything else. And being comfortable instead of in tight, ill-fitting blazers have made things much easier. For me, at least.

                                    • I read some good ideas(except have a few drinks first) alcohol on your breath is not a good thing at a job interview. You might also look up some typical interview questions that are often used such as "tell me about a time you had a conflict with a co-worker and what did you do"? "Where do you see yourself in 10 years"? Plan ahead how you might answer such questions.

                                    • You can't. What most people don't know is that employers use a brain-scrambling device to throw you off your game, while secretly videotaping you and later laughing about all of your ridiculous answers with their colleagues.

                                    • If you can't, I won't hire you. Deal with it. An interview is likely to be the easiest task I ever assign you. Seriously.

                                    • Have a couple of drinks before your interview

Knowing Some Job Interview Tips and Questions

                                    Recommended Answer:
Without knowing what kind of job you're interviewing for it's kind of hard to help with specific suggestions, but a couple of general rules:

Dress for one position above the one you're applying for, so if it's a sales or fast food job, I'd suggest a nice outfit that you feel comfortable in, not too much makeup, and no perfume. You don't want your appearance to cost you the job, so don't overdo it, just make yourself look professional and reliable.

Make good eye contact, have a firm handshake, smile when appropriate, answer questions completely without rambling or going off topic, and don't put anything on the interviewer's desk without permission.

Never say anything negative about anything at any time. If they ask you if you have any faults, and they might, have an answer ready, like, "I tend to expect my coworkers to care as much about their jobs, or customer service, as I do". Always make it sound like a positive. If they ask you why you left your last job, or why this is your first one, or why you want to work for this company, have an answer ready that shows your willingness to be part of the team and to do everything you can to help them achieve their goals. They will probably ask you if you have any questions for them at the end of the interview, and it's always preferable to have one ready, like, "when do you thing you'll be making a hiring decision? Can I call you then to check in with you? Where do you see this position going in the future?" Something that shows your interest in becoming part of the organization and how you can help them achieve their goals. Everything you say should emphasize your strong commitment to customer service, helping people, and being part of the team (tailor it to the type of business it is). Use any experience you have with church groups, summer camps, other jobs, even if they're informal types like babysitting or yard work, that show your willingness to work hard and your dedication.

You're 15, not 45, so they probably aren't going to ask about your managerial philosophy or to describe a time you disagreed with your boss and how you resolved the problem. Research the organization so you know as much as you can about it's history, philosophy, and goals. Be yourself and try to relax, though you and and the interviewer both know it can be a stressful situation. Always be positive, do your best to show your commitment to the goals of the group, your willingness to learn, and your commitment to the goals of the organization.
