Job Interview Questions: Is it ok to ask for a job interview?

I filled out an application for a new restaurant that's opening a few days ago. Should I call back and ask for a job interview? If I call back what should I say?

Don't directly ask for an interview give it more time maybe a week or two then call back to follow up on the status of your application. They might appreciate your initiative and offer you an interview then if not sooner.

• If they gave you any indication when they thought they'd make the next steps, then wait till a couple days before that. Sometimes when you turn in an app they let you know they're taking apps like "until next Tuesday' or "until the 14th" etc, and call just before that time is up.
  
  If they didn't say and considering the job, if it's been more than 3 days I'd recommend you call and basically just say you wanted them to know you were very interested and ask if they are close to holding interviews.
  
  That's just a good reminder to them of your name and shows you're really interested.
