Job Interview Questions: Did this job interview go well?

I recently had an interview for subway over the weekend, and it was my first job interview ever. I think it went well, but I am still nervous to wether or not I will get the call.

At the end of the interview he shook my hand and said "Well, you seem like a very nice and outgoing person. We will call you within two days, by tuesday, and if not then make sure to call us."

Do all interviewers say this, or is there a good chance I might have gotten the job?

you have a great chance at getting the job.....I hope you get it.

Preparing to Answer Job Interview Questions

  • The fact that you were not offered the job at the end of the interview suggests that the interviewer has not chosen anyone yet for the job. He most likely had other people to interview for the position. You may or may not get the job. You should not stop looking for a job until you get a job offer.

  • very good sign. don't forget to follow up with a thank you note for the interview

  • I'd say 80%+ you'll get the job. Professionals who interview potential recruits won't just waste time with you. Especially if he's saying he will call you back in a few days and then tell you to call them. Make sure you follow-up, although not all jobs require you to do so in order to get accepted. It never hurts to make every possible effort to make sure you got the job. It shows you have determination and the fact that you really want the job.

Considering that it's a job at subways, the interview won't require as much detail as a white-collar job where they would ask you your preferred salary and check-reference your college GPA with previous employers.

Don't get your hopes up, but be confident. Don't second guess it. What have you got to lose? Because let's say for some reason you don't get the job, there will be other opportunities. I personally think you have a good chance. Although "nice" isn't what everyone looks for, the outgoing personality defines everything most employers seek in recruiting employees. It means you will definitely communicate well with customers. It means you are more upbeat and optimistic than pessimistic and a defeatist.

If you don't get the call on Tuesday, or it's Tuesday afternoon, give them a call. And if for some reason you screw up, don't beat yourself over it. It's your first job interview ever. You should take pride that you made it through without having a panic attack in the middle of the interview. I've seen it happen. If you got such a response, you should be fine. If you DO get the job, make sure to stay positive and confident. Work hard too.

I hope you get the job and do well. Make lots of money while you can. Good luck.
