Job Interview Questions: What should I wear to a job interview?

I have a job interview for an office position in a dentist office and I'm not sure what to wear. I have black business capri style pants but I'm having problems with the shirt. I have a green 3/4 length shirt and a cami with a button down. What should I wear?

Is Your Body Secretly Sabotaging Your Job Interviews?

Recommended Answer:
The black pants " if they are full length" and a blouse may be a better choice. Capris are casual wear not suited for interviews. Be conservative on the jewelry and perfume. Do wear a watch if you have one. For shoes, try a closed toe, low heel pump with tan or skin tone hose (knee hi or pantyhose). Try to learn something about the dentists and their practice before you go. Arrive on time and be confident in yourself and you will do fine.

Good luck on your job search.

Job Interview Tips to Employment Success

  • Don't wear the capris. They are too casual for a job interview. I would wear the black pants and either the button down without the cami or the green shirt. Be sure to tuck in your shirt tail.

If you have a white shirt (not a top), wear it with the black pants. Black bottom, white top are classic.

Wear black shoes with the combination, and not too much jewelry. A pair of earrings, a small pendant and a watch are about all you want to wear.

  • Dress for success. Don't wear the capri pants. Too casual for an interview.

Go for a skirt, blouse, and jacket or a skirt with a twin set.

  • A rain jacket, a skirt, and some sandals. Wear a beret as well.
