Job Interview Questions: What should a middle-aged woman wear to a job interview?

Just got laid off...will be looking for work for the first time in about 10 years. These will be administrative/executive assistant type positions. What would be a good interview outfit? Are slacks OK these days? My hair is long and straight...would tying it in a loose ponytail look too severe? I don't want to look seductive either, but I realize young women these days consider that a job skill!

The Ten Rules For a Great Job Interview

Recommended Answer:
Any lady over 30-35 that has long hair should wear it up or back, off her face. A nice suit is fine, go easy on the makeup, very light, and use little to no perfume and very little jewelry. None is best because many people have allergies.

  • Suit with skirt, pantsuit, slacks with a nice blouse. Ponytail is fine. You don't want to look totally boring but you don't want to look seductive either.
Lol @ what you said about a job skill.

  • I agree with Spindrif except for the jewelry a few accessories will show your confidence
