Veegit has a valid point. I wouldn't be a mirror image of the person, but how they sit and whatnot generally sets the "mood" for the interview. Other than that: be sure to dress nice. It's almost always better to over dress than under dress. For advice, talk to your folks.

As far as what to say: Obviously if you've never had a job, you don't have tons of experience. What you want to be ready to do is focus on what makes you a good worker. For instance, do you work really hard with household chores or in school? If so, think of a good example about how hard you've worked. Effort is something your boss wants to see. No one likes a lazy person. Also, are you a fast learner? If so, think of something you had to do that you didn't know much about. Talk about how you caught on quickly to what you were asked to do. Finally, have you ever had to make a tough decision without any help? This could be anything from deciding what courses to take in school (to prepare for a career) or a life decision. Again, bouce these ideas off of your friends and your folks. They know you really well, so they might be able to tell you things about yourself that you forgot.

Ultimately, you just have to show them that you're willing to work hard and learn whatever you have to. Be confident, too. If you're not, fake it. Chances are they can't tell, and people respond to confidence. Good luck!

How to Answer Interview Questions - The Number One Job Interview Tip

  • one of the best things to do is to mimic everything the interviewer does( in terms of body language) I f he is sitting back in the chair, then you sit back. If he leans in then you lean in etc etc. He wont even notice it and it will take your mind off the interview so you can relax.
